2 Bedroom, 2 Bath In Quiet Neighborhood With A Beautiful Backyard Views!
About Owner/Property Manager
I'm a 30 year old self employed guy from Texas. Currently working as an energy landman out of Fort Worth, Texas. I learned about HomeAway through a friend and have started using it as a great tool when traveling. I look forward to using your place or having you use mine if you ever find yourself in Fort Worth!
Owner/Property Manager purchased this House in 2007
Why Owner/Property Manager chose Fort Worth
This house has been my personal place since my Sophmore year at TCU. This house is located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Fort Worth! The house is located just a few minutes drive from TCU, the Zoo, Museums and many other attractions. Downtown is roughly a 15 minute drive from the house! This property is in the rolling hills of South Fort Worth which provides and excellent cascading backyard with Fire pit and a great porch for that morning coffee or afternoon cocktail!
Check-in: 3:00 PM
Minimum age of primary renter:25
This is my personal home and please treat it as you would your own! I love hosting guests and have done so on Airbnb and other sites, and would love to host you as well. Please no smoking inside, and dispose of any butts before you leave to keep clean for next guest. Dogs are allowed as long as the are house broken and if they shed a lot, please keep in a confined area and off of beds, etc. On checkout, please leave sheets as is, and load dishwasher and tidying up, so that the cleaning crew isn't overly worked if they have to do a quick turnover!
100% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 7 days before arrival date.
Wonderful and convenient neighborhood, quiet and close to everything. House was very comfortable and owner was available and helpful. Back yard required supervision of dogs as was not secure but all in all we had a great stay and hope to return.
Should not be a HomeAway property
I do not like posting negative comments and typically never do. We use HomeAway a lot and I as a renter have a very good rating and have never posted a negative review on a property. In this case.... it is just necessary.
The property manager was easy to communicate with and easy to reach. The property itself from human eye was clean enough. However, there is most definitely water/drainage issues somewhere in the house. What appeared to be black mold in showers and vents. The smell of the house was very musty covered with a hint of mothballs. Roaches kept coming out of the closet in the guest bedroom. It was not like roaches were on cabinets or infestation but definitely visible. It appeared this was someone’s “home” we rented for the weekend while they stayed somewhere else. Opened groceries in the fridge, clothes in drawers and closets. There was not one closet in master that was dedicated for a guest. A large section of the driveway by door and garage door is crumbling with potholes due to tree roots, making it difficult to park or walk.
We were so uncomfortable by Sunday... we packed up and left. I do not know how to describe the property. It was more like borrowing your brothers house for a long weekend while he was away. Definitely not a good experience and this property should not be rented as a HomeAway property. It really bothers me to make such a negative review, but I feel it is absolutely necessary. There are positive things to say about the home, but the experience was just too awful to mislead and make it appear acceptable.
After 5+ years of renting out my home to vacationers in the Fort Worth area, I have never had a review of this sort. Yes, this home is my personal home and I have never tried to disguise it as anything other than that. It is not a 5 star hotel. I do not advertise it as a full-time rental property and will adjust the description to clarify in the future. There is no black mold in the home of any sort, no mothballs, nor any musty smells, and has been taken care of on a yearly plan for any and all pest control. My neighborhood is near a lot of creeks and I have made sure to keep a close eye on anything pest related. There is ample closet space and yes I do have personal items in the closets (shirts, shoes, etc), but they are very large and it is all pushed way to the side and out of site. I communicated with Kateri multiple times and said that if there was ANYTHING she needed to please call......she never did. Never mentioned that there was anything she was unhappy about or discussed being disappointed, but now I am left with a 1 star review that will severely affect my ability to rent this home. I travel for work often and rent the home to many groups when I am out of town for work or pleasure. I also rent on other sites and have had approx 6 groups this year who have all left 5 Star reviews and never once mentioned any of the claims that Kateri has made. At this point I have to ask anyone wanting to reach out to me if you have any concerns and let me discuss and assure you this is not an accurate description. I would have offered a full refund to Kateri and her guests if she thought the home was inaccurately presented or they were unhappy, as I always strive to take care of anyone as I would expect the same when I stay at other vacation rentals. Again, I was under the impression everything was fine until this was posted, and it is unfortunate that there was nothing I could do about it.
Ft Worth Getaway
As an avid travel family, we were excited to get to this house in Ft worth, which had a great location close to TCU for our week long stay. The owner of the house was very easy and friendly to work with which was a plus. I am only giving it 3 stars because the overall cleanliness of the house was sub par, it was surface cleaned but there was pet hair everywhere which - with two little kids- was a turnoff. We swept up lots of dog hair and it was all over the sheets and comforters. I also killed a couple cockroaches in the bathroom. We were looking forward to enjoying the yard but there was no furniture outside to sit in and the yard had lots of dog poop so we couldn't just turn the kids loose so we were a bit disappointed in that. For the price we paid to stay there and what we got we won't return but if your just having a guys weekend away this property would suit you great. Also there were no bath mats and only four towels for use in the house, which I am sure is an easy fix that the homeowner will improve upon. Its In a great location and has lots of potential if the homeowner just improves on a few things.
Thank you for your critique and I am sorry the home was not up to your standards. I certainly want this place to be more than "for a guys weekend" and am learning what people expect as I rent it out further. The roaches are 100% unacceptable and although the house is on a full-time pest control with Terminex, I have resolved the problem and had them come again since your stay.
All other issues have been noted and will be corrected for any future guests that might see this. I was a little confused by saying there were no chairs to enjoy the back yard, as we discussed before you arrived and I mentioned that I had supplied 6 "sporting" chairs so that you could use them on the porch or around the fire pit down below. Sorry for the confusion if you had planned for something different. Thanks again for your time here and hope you will consider another try if you get back this way.
Great location but needs better accomodations
The location and area was beautiful. We enjoyed walking to the park and to R.T. Gators for drinks and dinner! However, there we no extra towels, pillows or blankets. One towel per person for an entire weekend is not reasonable. There were also very few kitchen towels for cooking use. The grill on the patio was filthy and we had to clean it before using it. The backyard was beautiful but it has zero patio furniture to be able to enjoy it with. Considering the price and lack of simple accommodations, I'd stay in a hotel next time.
Location, Location, Location... great place!
Fabulous weekend visiting family and the campus at TCU! I brought three 16 year old boys with me for a campus visit and wanted to be close to TCU. This was an ideal location. The house has large rooms easily accommodating us and a fire pit in the back yard. The fire pit was where we gathered every night giving me special memories I will cherish forever. We never turned on the large TV in the living room (again, I was travelling with three 16 year old boys!) because the back yard was so peaceful and alluring. Quiet neighborhood street with nice neighbors (I met a couple of them) and beautiful trees. Loved it so much I have already booked it for a return trip in the fall!
Great location and fantastic value
We really enjoyed our stay in this home. The owner was very kinds and helpful. With in a couple of days we had made friends with the staff at RJ Gators just a few blocks away. This home is very convenient to all major freeways, the downtown area and plenty of restaurants just a matter of minutes away.
Our pets enjoyed the backyard and it was nice to hear the birds singing away in the mornings.
We stayed for an extended time and found the neighborhood very quite
