About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms/2 Baths, (Sleeps 7)

Welcome to your charming, secluded cabin getaway! This cabin is very clean, with new central heating, appliances, flooring, drywall, paint, refinished decks, washer/dryer, sheets/bedding and flat screen TV's with cable, movie channels and Netflix. We chose this cabin because of the backyard sledding and access to national forest hiking trails. You do not have to drive anywhere to enjoy beautiful big bear pines and mountain views. If you are the adventurous type the national forest trail head is also located within viewing distance of the back yard and has a family friendly trail for hiking, biking or cross country skiing. We are 1.5 miles from Bear Mountain resort and the Big Bear Alpine Zoo. The quaint mountain village in big bear is only a couple miles away with a large variety of dinning and fine dinning options as well as shops, boutiques, and art galleries. There is even a cute little movie theater, that plays new releases.

The cabin is located near the end of a dead end street, with very few other rentals around. You will not have to worry about up all night long, loud neighbors. Most of the houses close by are non rentable personal vacation homes or permanent Big Bear residents.

We get lots of afternoon sun and always have great forested views of the snow play area below the house and the trees on the mountain across from the cabin.

Inside the cabin is very clean with many new amenities. Downstairs has one bedroom/den with a new couch bed, across the hallway is a full bath with stacked washer and dryer.

The kitchen is small but works well and opens to dinning room and living room. Everything you might need is stocked in the kitchen, silverware, pots, pans, plates, cups, popcorn maker, coffee maker, coffee mugs, coffee, knifes, trash bags, microwave, toaster, sponges, kitchen towels and serving spoons.

The living room has one couch and one love seat facing our gas assisted fireplace and Samsung flat screen TV, with charter cable and DVR.

Upstairs we have two large bedrooms and a bathroom. Master bedroom has one queen bed with new sheets and bedding, dresser, love seat and coffee table for watching cable or movies, and a easy to access closet.

Guest Bedroom has one queen bed and a bunk/trundle combo with two twins and a full. All bedding and sheets are high quality and clean. Also some kids books, and games in this guest bedroom.

All linens towels, hand towels, wash clothes, kitchen towels, sheets, blankets are provided and cleaned before each guest arrives.

The bed situation is as follows:

downstairs bedroom 1 pull out queen =2 adults

upstairs master 1 queen =2 adults

upstairs master 1 twin (couch conversion) =2 adults

upstairs guest 1 queen = 2 adults

upstairs guest 1 full (bottom bunk) = 1 adults

upstairs guest 1 twin (top bunk)= 1 adult

upstairs guest trundle 1 twin (pullout from under bunk)= 1 adult

We have just purchased this cabin and want to share it with families or groups who might appreciate any of the amenities we have listed. We are willing to work with you as much as possible to make your stay an enjoyable one. Please call Jesse 805-797-2491 anytime if you have questions.

About Jesse Barnett

We are a family of Eight. My wife Fern and I have 4 children, CC, Elexa, Aubrie, and Jackson. We also usually bring Grandma Deena and our Dogs Bodhi and Paco anywhere we go.

Jesse Barnett purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Jesse Barnett chose Moonridge

My mother has been bringing me to Big Bear since I was a kid, I learned to snow board here and have always loved the fun and charm of Big Bear. In recent years my wife and children have also been visiting Big Bear and we have decided that as a family this is our favorite vacation destination. We chose this cabin because of the awesome setting and backyard. We wanted a cabin that had a destination we could walk to because on our vacations we do not want to have to drive. This cabin was our perfect answer. With snow play, sledding, and serious hiking, we fell in love instantly. We paid more to have these luxuries in our backyard, but we decided that it would pay off in the years to come, knowing that our children would have the extra experiences this cabin has to offer. We also happened to love the cabin itself, which was a big bonus. It is so clean and nice inside, it just feels like a vacation.

What makes this cabin unique

Our property is so cool, because it fits our whole family, has sledding, snow play and hiking in the back yard. The cabin is also very nice and clean with new carpet, wood floors, drywall and many other things I have already told you about. My Mom takes a daily hike up the canyon with the dogs, this is one of her favorite parts of staying at the cabin. The kids ask to go play in the snow all morning, and I just love to relax in front of the TV, fireplace or on the deck.

Great location, cozy cabin.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great weekend in this cabin. The owners were responsive and very nice, check-in and check-out were a breeze, and the cabin provided everything we needed. Nice views of the forest from the rear facing windows and decks. We sadly didn't have any snow this year, but the best sledding and snow-play around is right out the back of this cabin; we'll be back next year!

Great weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this cabin in hopes of snow for a fun filled weekend. When that didn't happen it wasn't a problem. Not only was this home perfect for our families, it was close to the resort, the zoo, snow tubing and the grocery store! The kitchen has everything you need to make meals, the heater worked fast, the place was clean and well cared for, directions for arriving and departing are clearly stated, and there was plenty of room for the little ones to run around. The house comes with wi-fi and when we had problems the owner was quick to respond and help us fix the problem. We would definitely rent this house again!

Beautiful cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is a perfect cabin for our family and friends to spend together. The 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor were big with lots of beds to sleep. The house was full of amenities in the kitchen as well as in the bathroom. Them best part was the the trail behind the house. The kids were able to go sledding and played in the snow without having to drive far away. I just wish there was an easier way to walk down the back. Would love to stay here again in the future.

Perfect Location & Host

  • 5 of 5

We chose this cabin due to its proximity to Bear Mountain Resort, The Village & it's awesome backyard sledding hill for the kids. Each room was spacious and exactly how described, so everyone in our party slept comfortably. In addition, Jesse is a super host who available at all times to answer any questions about the property.

Perfect Family Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was my first try at this homeaway renting and I was not disappointed. I took my 4 kids and they had so much fun. The house was roomy with everything we needed and the back yard has its own sledding hill and plenty of room for snow play. The owner was quick to respond and having a washer and dryer was a huge plus. There was definitely plenty of places to sleep and nice areas to just relax after coming in from the cold. Thank you and I will be returning soon!
