David and Helen purchased this House in 2012
Why David and Helen chose Palm Beach
We bought this property because we liked it's unique layout and location: L-shaped with a totally private courtyard, Villa is airy and well ventilated - all rooms have cathedral ceilings, and all closets are walk-in. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Palm Beach which is one of the best beaches on the island plus upscale shopping, eating, entertainment. We love snorkeling so when we come here we rent a car and go to our favorite Boca Catalina beach which is just 10 minutes drive. We live in US and come to our house in Aruba every year. While we are back in US our villa is taken care of by a very good management company we hired. Guest services, cleaning, gardening, pool care, etc - all taken care off. We love our house - hopefully so will you if you choose to rent it. Best, Helen, David
What makes this House unique
Unlike the crowded hotels, our home gives you both the seclusion & privacy & the convenience of a great location just outside the hotel area, close to everything.

The place is spotless, they have all you need, beach chairs, cooler, etc... amazing place to spend a vacation in Aruba. Car rental is suggested.
Perfect Place to stay near Palm Beach!!
Villa Monplaisir was phenomenal!! I can honestly say there was not one thing about it that we didn’t like. Property manager Julie was a delight. Owner David was easy to work with from beginning to end. The only thing you really need to bring is a few trash bags - they had literally everything you needed available. We were there for a wedding so made use of the steamer and the iron/ironing board. It was a delight to be able to be in the pool at all hours of the day and night. Having the washer/dryer was nice as it’s easier (for me) to take clean clothes home and it wasn’t difficult to throw a laundry load in and get into the pool. Beds were comfortable and there was a wide array of pillows available so that you could work out your personal preference. There were safes available so we kept our passports and extra money locked up even though we didn’t really feel that there was any danger. It would be easy enough to walk to shops and restaurants although we rented a car so we drove. Superfood grocery store was only about 1 mile away and it had everything we needed to satisfy our typical American diet but also for us to try new things. If I ever get the opportunity to go back to Aruba-I already know where I will be staying!! (Oh and for guests with small children - there was a crib type bed, high chair and loads of pool toys available.)
Exactly as Promised
We rented this house based on all of the glowing reviews and we were not disappointed. The location is fantastic, the house is spacious and private and the pool and courtyard were amazing.
The owners were great about answering our questions and providing information on the island and the property manager was very professional.
I would highly recommend this house to any family planning a vacation in Aruba.
What an amazing place to stay!!
What an amazing place to stay!! Highly recommend this home for your family vacation in Aruba! The house is a great size with three large bedrooms with attach bathrooms. The pool is a good size and the bbq space is excellent. Home is well-stocked with everything that you would need to enjoy your stay there. The hosts are so wonderful and sent us all the information we needed on Aruba ! Very short walking distance to the hotel stripe and restaurants. So close to superfoods for groceries. I know I sent a text to Helen and David thanking them for sharing their home...but we can’t say enough about having the opportunity to stay there!!!
Wonderful time. Villa Monplaisir was an awesome home to stay in.
Would definitely recommend.
Amazing in every way!
We had a WONDERFUL experience for our first visit to Aruba and are so thankful we found this amazing house to rent. We were a family of 4 (myself, husband and our two adult children); it was great that we all could have our own room AND our own bathroom. The location is fantastic - super close to the beach highway with multiple restaurants and shopping and not far from a large grocery store (Super Foods). Check in was easy - Julie from the mangement company met us and showed us around; she was very nice and easy to reach if needed. The house was clean and ready for us - including some goodies in the fridge for our arrival, which was so thoughtful and sweet after a long day of travel. We had a rental car and made the most of traveling the island and checking out the wonderful beaches. The owners have beach chairs, towels and even coolers available to take along, which kept us from having to rent and/or buy those things (another bonus!). They even had reusable shopping bags available to use when grocery shopping. We made time every day to spend a few hours in and by the pool... the courtyard area is fantastic. Every room had TVs, but I don't even think we turned them on as we kept busy with activies and playing games. That said, we greatly appreciated having internet to check in on things back home and such. The owners really thought of everything - we could not have been more pleased. Thank you, Helen and David, for sharing your slice of paradise with us.
Walking distance -- Palm Beach, a beautiful white sandy beach where the the Pro Am wind-surfing tournament is held annually. There are also plenty of white sandy beaches up and down the west coast and within driving distance; most within a 10 minute drive. All beaches in Aruba are public (this includes the beaches at the hotels) and most have free public parking areas. Also, most of the hotels have umbrellas and chairs, but may charge visitors for use. Boca Catalina, one of the best snorkeling locations on the island, is only a 7-10 minute drive.
The public bus stop is only a 5 minute walk; the buses provide service to most of the beaches, Oranjestad, and, with connections, the south and middle parts of the island.
Other Activities: Boating, shopping, kayaking, miniature golf, tennis
