Convenient, comfortable, clean!
This was our second year renting this house. For us its perfect. Two women, a dog, lakes, streams, shade, mountains!
House is modern, nice little park for our dog to lay in grass vs desert sand. Close to lakes, Fools Hollow, restaurants, shopping, internet works great. No problems, dont worry, be happy!
A Home Sweet Home
Great neighborhood. Quiet and not too crowded. Mostly adults live nearby vs young families. Although neighboring cabins were very close...no one was in them, so it was private. But when the neighbor came home next door, you can't help but see and hear one another. Too bad...nice lady though.
The cabin was clean, neat, uncluttered and tastfully decorated. Beds are very comfortable. Hated the polyester sheets though. Bring your own! If staying for more than a week, suggest you bring your own bath and hand towels, facecloths. Theres only a few available. I like fresh towels almost every day though.
Also, theres only two outdoor chairs, both are rockers. You might need more if you like relaxing outside.
I'd suggest better reading lights. I don't use a Kindle, so it was hard to read with lamps provided...glad I took my camp light.
The cabin is on a hill, so you must climb several steep stairs to get in...or climb the hill and go around back! By the end of our one month stay, my thighs were stronger!
Loved the location. Grocery near by. Great walking areas for our dog. Show Low Creek was a real find....our dog loves swimming! Mogollan Rim can be viewed from FR300 accessed near Forest Lakes. Also there's a beautiful Rim Interpretive Trail Park south of town. Many forest roads were closed due to fire threat from the draught...disappointing, but glad they are protective.
All in all its a great cabin, great location (unless you want seclusion) and terrific owner who is very responsive.
Unless you desire solitude and isolation...this cabin has what it takes for total comfort and convenience. Nice golf course associated with Bison Ridge too!
This cabin had everything we needed! The location was great! There's even a playground for the kids. We'll definitely be back!
Cabin was cozy and clean. It exceeded our expectations. We will definitely return.
Nice cabin, nicely appointed, comfortable.
We arrived early on 1st rental day by 3 1/2 hours and I contacted owner to find out if and when we could check in early. He was ok with that, but when we arrived at property, the door code wouldn’t open the lock. We contacted owner who told us thAt was definitely the right code, after checking back with his spouse to see if had been changed. He told us that the previous tenant had made additional keys and hAd possibly jammed up the lockbox with too many keys. He called back 30 minutes later to gave me try a different code, I told him I had to go back to the door because we were getting ready to find a hotel room instead. He snapped back that we were 3 hours early anyway, and I asked what difference does that make, we would be locked out then as well with less time to find a place for my family to stay? He now had the right door code for me and we got in. He texted back with apologies and stated we didn’t need to rush check out in Monday, the cleaners would be there Tuesday morning. That evening we attempted to light the gas fireplace with the included instruction card. The instructions did not resemble the actual controls/appliance at all. I texted him back again at about 7:30 pm about the fireplace night being able to light; but he didn’t return the text until the following afternoon, about 17 hours later. We never did get the fireplace to operate. We stayed elsewhere most of the time, and left first thing Monday morning. The cabin is very nice, despite the inoperable fireplace, and is quite comfortable and tidy. The interactions and ridiculous time delay for answering request about the fireplace, on top of the door code delays, made for a less than enjoyable trip.
Perfect Get-Away Weekend!
At the very last minute, we decided to head north to escape the valley heatwave. This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. You can tell it's well cared for not only by the owner but everyone who stays there. The cabin had everything we could possibly need; it's in a great location ... just minutes from the Safeway and many restaurants; and there is so much to do in the immediate area ... hiking, fishing, canoeing, and horseback riding. We so enjoyed the cooler temps and just had a great time!
Welcome to Rim Country – that’s the Mogollon Rim – your gateway to 12-month, high-country pleasure. It’s a great place any time of year, but check the calendar for events that capture Show Low’s small town spirit.
Against a tall, cool pine backdrop, Show Low really comes alive during family-friendly events.
What’s with the name? Legend has it that in the early days two men who decided there wasn’t enough room in town for them both, played a high-stakes marathon poker game. After a long night with no clear winner, one decided to let the cards decide his fate with the phrase, “If you show low, you win.” It stuck. The main street through town is dubbed Deuce of Clubs in honor of that low card.
Show Low is a safe bet for today’s traveler. Start your visit at the Show Low Historical Museum, which has amassed a collection of quirky stuff from locals, including quilts, military memorabilia, blacksmithing tools and barbershop equipment. Wildlife spotting is all but assured at nearby Fool Hollow Lake, one of three lakes in town. It’s home to herons, bobcat, beaver, mountain lions and raptors. There’s also gorgeous hiking, biking and horseback riding, in addition to the 50-mile Maverick Motorized Trail.
Summertime brings two popular festivals. No telling who’ll show up during June’s annual Show Low Days, with a Derby Down the Deuce, huge arts and craft festival, wiener dog race, itty bitty Olympics and rides for kids of all ages, including live entertainment throughout the day and great bands in the evening. Patriotism reigns during July 4th weekend, with one of the state’s biggest parades, an art show, and farmers market by day, and fireworks by night.
