This is a family-owned cabin. We enjoy fishing and tubing with the kids.
Dave purchased this Cabin in 2006
Why Dave chose Bass Lake
This is a beautiful area on a magnificent lake. Hayward is a convenient location. We see many loons, bald eagles, deer, and even an occasional bear wander through the area!

Great view and cozy cabin!!
Everything was clean and in order. The kitchen was well-outfitted. In a nice, quiet spot.
My husband and I came with our three sons and their families for a weeks rest and relax station in Hayward. My husband had been staying in Hayward area 20 years ago every year for vacation and had been telling us all about it for the last 10 years what a wonderful place it was. Dave's place worked well for the 4 families with people from age 4 to 60. And my husband was right. The lake was beautiful and clear. The kids played off the dock and it was under 5 ft probably 20 feet out. We rented a pontoon And boated , swam, fished, and tubed on the lake. We go karted, shopped, and ate in town. We spent a lot of time on Dave's deck, the campfire was great and the kids loved the swing set. The kitchen was well equipped as we cooked everyday. On the one cold Rainey day we made good use of the movies and games supplied. WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!
What kind of changes would we make? Maybe ceiling fans, dehumidifier in basement( one son used the bedroom in the basement and he said his bed was fine, my husband and I used the hide-a-bed, we kept window open and it stormed several nights, our bedding felt dAmp)or air cond. Maybe a cAnoe or kayak. We would have liked to bring our dog. Just some ideas.
We saw deer, ducks, eagles, loon, chipmunk, and BEAR!!! The grandkids are already asking to come back next year.
Thank you for the excellent review! It certainly is a beautiful lake and wonderful area for family fun! I appreciate the suggestions- we seem to have one of those very-warm weeks every couple of years. The walkout basement (toward the lake) usually does stay cooler but we will definitely look into ceiling fans for the bedrooms in the future too. We try to be as accommodating as possible toward families but we do keep a strict no-pet policy (as well as no-smoking) out of respect for everyone who uses the cabin. We look forward to seeing you again next summer!
I recently stayed at Cabin Bliss with four other adults for a fishing weekend on Lac Courte Oreilles. The five of us really enjoyed our stay and found it very comfortable. It was so nice to be able to come back to the cabin to relax and "refuel" after our various fishing excursions out on the lake. We had no issues for concern (other than wishing we had reserved a few more days to spend there). This was by far our best fishing experience, both because of the great accommodations and the great fishing. The cabin's bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living spaces were extremely clean and the cabin very welcoming. It felt like more of a stay at a resort than a cabin. Dave was very professional to work with and efficient (we received our security deposit back within five days of our stay.) I would recommend this cabin to anyone interested in staying on Lac Courte Oreilles and plan to return for another vacation stay in the future.
Fun Memorial Weekend!
Cabin Bliss was a great family getaway. The cabin is very well cared for. Kids had lots of fun fishing and we enjoyed a wonderful fish dinner. We hope to return for another visit!
Wow what a lake!
The stay we had at cabin Bliss was wonderful. The cabin was very up to date and fully furnished. The lake was the best lake we have ever vacationed to. Crystal clear water that you can swim off the pier. The kids loved it. We caught many bass and enough Northern to make a meal for 10. A great place to take little ones fishing becuase the small bluegill were biting without any bait!!!! The view from the cabin's screened in poarch was breath taking. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to have a great relaxing vacation.
I have to agree with the previous review- everything here was great. Love the newly remodeled interior (the bathrooms are both great) and it was just the right size for the 6 of us (2 families). We had a wonderful time fishing, swimming, snorkeling (water is super clear), and my 8 year old had a blast catching crayfish down by the dock. We only wish we could have found more walleyes in the lake (argh).....but we caught plenty of bass and lots of panfish. I would love to come back and rent again and will gladly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for place to stay in Hayward. Thank you so much Dave for letting us enjoy your lovely lake home.
FYI- Dave was wonderful in helping to answer all the questions we had prior to our rental.
