About Tiana Franklin

This house holds a lot of great memories for our family. My dad, Don is the owner and I help manage it. We love being able to share this house with other families and hope they can make many wonderful memories of their own at this house for years to come.

Tiana Franklin purchased this house in 2005

Why Tiana Franklin chose Clearlake Oaks

The location of this property is what we love about it. You are located in one of the many canals that leads you directly to the lake. So you are never dealing with boats zooming past causing big wake. Also the house is located at the end of a court which is great for kid to ride their bikes and play out front.

What makes this house unique

One of our favorite rituals is to take a stroll after dinner down and around some of the nearby streets. It's always quiet and peaceful with great views of the mountains and stars. None of the streets are really busy so it makes it nice with the dogs and kids.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for a month. The place was exactly as advertised and the owner was great to work with. Most of our stay was just my wife and I. We did on a couple of occasions have friends come and stay with us for a few days. The extra beds worked out great for this when needed.

The dock was so nice to have. What a convenience compared to launching every day. It was so nice to just walk out the back door, down some stairs, and your in you boat heading out to go fishing.

In an earlier review someone complained about the algae bloom. We were there at the peak of the algae season for 30 days, so we got to see it all. I will admit that it can be pretty brutal. Keep in mind. It doesn't just bloom in this area of the lake (The Keys). When we first got there we thought maybe we could just rent a different house in another area next year and avoid it. We thought this because when we were fishing we found places that weren't blooming. The fact of the matter is that algae blooms cycle thru different areas on EVERY part of the lake at different times. Certain areas that we were fishing were perfect. Only to go back the very next day to find the area had bloomed and the area was unfishable.

The lake is almost 1/2 million years old and sits on a volcano. This is part of nature and there's nothing the owner or anyone else can do about it. You just have to embrace it and go with it. After a couple of days it clears up, and then a week or so later, the next cycle blooms. Just know this going in and mentally prepare for it and it's VERY tolerable.

We loved the place, and after seeing everything else available on the lake for rent. We will be staying there again next year for another month.

A Real Winner

  • 5 of 5

Met or exceeded our expectations. Our one concern was the refrigerator where condiments and foods were left behind. The sensitivity of the owner to making our stay comfortable was also greatly appreciated

The best rental in Clearlake Oaks

  • 5 of 5

We always stay at Touch of Tuscany when we visit Clearlake. I can't say enough about the amenities and the cleanliness at Touch of Tuscany. I would highly recommend this property to any large group visiting the area. Of course we will be staying again really soon.

Quiet and relaxing

  • 4 of 5

Very relaxing covered deck with panoramic beauty of the channel and surrounding properties. Easy access to the main lake, only one channel in. The house is great for a big family given the kids room is very roomy and, there are 3 queen size beds. The only knocks are 1-the bedroom tv's need to be modernized and 2-the guests staying in the kids room have to pass through the 2nd bedroom to use the restroom. This is why I recommend highly for big families.

I usually do not write reviews, however I feel this house deserves it. I hope by writing this it won't be booked next time I want a vacation :o) What a great house and location. We had 6 adults and there was room to accommodate us all. I look forward to planning another vacation and booking this house.

Just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I took our two small children, 3 and 6 and In-laws to this wonderful Lake House. It was perfect for my husband and son to go fishing for the day and be able to use the private dock to go back and forth on. It was a very quiet, clean and appeared to be safe neighborhood. My daughter seemed to stay entertained with her scooter which she played on the gated porch in the backyard or games inside the house. There isn't a ton for kids to do outside of fishing or water sports BUT there was a movie theater and cute little miniature golf course and park about 15 down the road which our kids enjoyed.

The house was overall clean and well kept. The BBQs were great for dinners and kitchen was fully equipped for all of our meals we prepared.

The set up of the house was perfect for our family.

The owners had great communication through email and even offered their phone number in case we needed them.

Overall we enjoyed this cute little place and plan on coming back.
