HOUSE DETAILS:

The private guest house is about 1,000 square feet with tile hardwood floors, a great room living area with cathedral ceilings and OPEN sleeping loft, and a laundry room. It also contains a Master Suite which includes 1 bedroom, walk-in closet, double closet, and private access to the one full bathroom. Also, there is the ability to transition the master closet which is in a private hallway across from the bathroom into a 'Sleeping Alcove' with a Queen luxury airbed. There is an outside private furnished patio area, fire ring, and parking. The main windows and patio offer a serene country meadow view bordered by large trees. There is an acre lake on the property available for fishing, and a lake deck available with grill and furniture for entertaining.This cottage sits behind a main house and it is connected to a barn.

About Suzyn

Suzyn has earned the title "Superhost" on other sites where she has posted her unique properties. But on a more personal note, she is a happy mother of seven, including an adopted sibling group of four. Suzyn grew up in Chagrin Falls and has lived here most of her life. She prides herself on her hospitality and her ability to prepare unique and inviting living spaces for her guests, complete with all the customary amenities and only a short walk or drive to the charming hamlet of Chagrin and the many attractions and activities there and in the greater Cleveland area.

Why Suzyn chose Novelty

The space: Peace and serenity abound just a short drive from civilization. The guest house is clean and uncluttered. A contemporary oasis in the midst of a rustic meadow. Can sleep up to 6 with a variety of sleeping accommodations—including a queen in the master, 2 twins in the sleeping loft, and a queen air mattress in the sleeping alcove. We can alter sleeping arrangements as needed w providing an additional Queen air mattress in the master, and bedding for the non-pull out single couch in living room. Guest access: Your private patio is the ideal spot to enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the Sun rise. You have a fire circle for evening s'mores and hootenannies, a lake deck with grill for evening entertaining, and paddle boat for your pleasure. Interaction with guests: Our goal is to be as available (or not) as you wish. We check in almost daily by text on their needs. We are here to provide tips to local sights and activities, or to lend a cup of sugar-or whatever else. Other things to note: We are 10 minutes from the quaint town of Chagrin Falls which has great shops, restaurants and community theater. We are about 20 minutes from the eclectic town of Cleveland Heights, and 30 minutes from downtown Cleveland. We are around the corner from Cleveland Metroparks, Geauga Park System, Punderson State Park, Gilmour Academy, Ursuline College, Progressive, Parker Hannafin, and Hillcrest Hospital. We are about 30 minutes west of Amish country. We are 30+ minutes from Lake Erie beaches. The neighborhood: We are in the country and surrounded by 2/3- acre pond, 2 horse farms, and a meadow. We have no close neighbors, yet are a short drive to the city of Cleveland and other fun destinations. Due to little light pollution out here, we enjoy wonderful starry nights. The guest house is private and located at the back of our property. Getting around: We are a short ride from local RTA bus stops and RTA transit that go directly to Cleveland.

What makes this Cottage unique

The guest house opens onto a rustic meadow, and the property contains a scenic lake where you can fish or just enjoy the view. You have an opportunity to view various wildlife, from deer to foxes to songbirds to the occasional heron visiting the lake for dinner. While the living space is completely private (the hosts can neither hear nor see your activities), they are always a stone's throw away and ready to attend to any need that arises.

While the inside of the cottage was clean and very livable the exterior of the building and the grounds were not enjoyable or inviting. There was a rusty, broken down trampoline near the entrance as well as a rusty overturned hot tub. The wicker lawn furniture was filthy and unraveling. The deck and paddle boat were in bad shape.

We had rented this place in hopes of swimming in the private lake which is what I expressed to the owner. Her response should have been, "this lake is not fit to swim in" since the lake was covered with green algae and scum. Our dog, who loves to swim, wouldn't even go in the lake.

We spent 10 minutes at the property and left. I felt we had been mislead. Would not waste the money.

Great place. Convenient, quiet, peaceful and clean. Suzyn was fantastic. All linens, paper goods provided. Good selection of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and spices. We spent time at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Loved Great Blue Heron Rookery and Bald Eagle nest. Went to Sarah’s Vineyard for wine tasting and lunch. Very friendly and accommodating. All together nice vacation at a great price. Thank you for sharing.
