Luxury and the beach - get the best of both at Wymbolwood Beach House. Operating in the winter as a B&B, Wymbolwood Beach House has all the luxurious amenities you would expect from a B&B - but families and groups now have the opportunity to enjoy the entire property for themselves.
Situated directly across the road from one of Canada's most pristine beaches, you can enjoy the water view from the front deck of the house - and the beach path is only a 1 minute stroll away.
You can walk for hours on the sandy beach which faces west for some pretty amazing sunsets. The crystal clear water has no rocks and a gradual depth - making for warmer temperatures in the summer and a safe shallow area for children to play.
The house has 6 bedrooms and can accommodate a total of 12 guests. Each bedroom is made up with fine linens and has cable TV and a DVD player. Two bedrooms have a private on-suite bathroom and the third bathroom is shared with the remaining two bedrooms. The kitchen is very large and the dining room / sitting are has a long table that sits 10 with two small couches by the fireplace. The large family room has a big screen TV, digital cable, a computer with Internet and plenty of seating.
Outside you will find a large 2-tiered deck with a view to the water, a screened-in gazebo with seating for four, and many 'muskoka' chairs for outdoor seating. At the back of the house there is another deck, a BBQ, a small patio set, a pond and a hilly garden. There is plenty of parking for up to 7 vehicles, or room for a boat / trailer or even an RV.
Wymbolwood Beach is located 20 minutes north of popular Wasaga Beach, but is much quieter and less crowded. It is very close to the town of Midland, Ontario. Midland has great downtown shopping, fine dining, a movie theater, and excellent wildlife and historic museums.
For more information on our property as a B&B, feel free to visit our B&B website which can be found by following B&B the link at the bottom of the listing. We still provide B&B accommodation during the summer months at times when our entire property is not rented to larger groups.

Hello - we are John and Cathy Martens. We have been married for over 20 years and have two teen-aged children.
Originally from Guelph Ontario, we have spent many summers here with our family, until we bought this property as a home and B&B 7 years ago.
John is a Computer Science teacher and Cathy devotes herself full time to the B&B operation, with John lending his full time support during the busier summer months.
We move out of our house during the warmer months (see below) which allows us the opportunity to share it with larger families who love spending time near the beach.
John and Cathy are passionate about the outdoors, spending many hours swimming, walking the beach, going for bike rides or hiking one of the many nearby trails.
We are also big movie fans and continue to build our DVD collection which is always available to guests who stay with us.
John and Cathy Martens purchased this house in 2008
Wymbolwood Beach has been an important part of my life. Not only is it one of the most beautiful beaches in the Northern Hemisphere, my family has owned a 'family compound' at Wymbolwood for over 30 years.
When an opportunity came up to acquire an incredible B&B / Beach House just down the road, we jumped at the chance. Now, we get to enjoy living here all year long - not just in the summer.
We still run our house as a B&B part time but we still stay with our family down the road during the summer months. This is why we have decided to convert our entire house from a B&B to a large luxurious Beach House that can be enjoyed by an extended family.
We hope that other families will love Wymbolwood Beach as much as my own family has for over three decades.
Since our house also functions as a B&B, the rooms are all very private and luxurious with their own bathrooms.
When renting the whole house, there are even 2 kitchens and 2 BBQs available - for added flexibility when feeding your large group.
The parking areas are huge - you can park up to seven vehicles without blocking anybody in, or if you have a boat or jet-ski on a trailer it can easily fit on the property. Boat owners also have access to a boat launch about 1 km down the road.
For swimmers and beach walkers - the path to the beach is a 1 minute stroll along the beach road, and you will find the beach to be very pristine. From the clear clean water to the fine golden sand, many people who have visited Wymbolwood Beach over the years would agree that it is one of the best beaches in Ontario. From the front decks and windows of our property, you also have an excellent view of the water.
At night, a popular place to relax is in our screened-in gazebo. Complete with electricity, lights and even a ceiling fan, its a great place to gather and play games or just relax, unwind and talk with your friends and family.
Inside our house you will also find a couple of larger gathering rooms with great water views, along with a large dining room table, all of which are ideal for get-togethers with your group while you are enjoying the property.
As for the neighborhood, it is very peaceful and quiet - there are many executive year round and summer homes built on large properties around us, making it a perfect place to get away and relax.
We had the opportunity to stay in the cottage for a ladies weekend in the month of July and it was an experience we will never forget. Both John and Cathy were lovely and extremely helpful. They provided us with a tour when we first arrived and made themselves readily available if we ever needed them. The cottage was clean, well equipped with anything you could ever need and overall relaxing. The walk to the beach was seconds away which made it easy if you forgot anything. Thank you again for such an enjoyable experience :)
