Overview

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

We are located in Homewood between Chamber's Landing and Tahoma.

Our private, newly remodeled home is in West Shore, Lake Tahoe.

Walk through the door of our cabin into all of the comforts and amenities that you would typically expect to have in your own home. Downstairs features a full kitchen with custom concrete countertops, custom cabinets and stainless appliances; dining room with a sliding door leading to the deck; living room with a flat screen t.v. and fireplace; full bathroom with a walk-in tiled slate shower and custom concrete counter; a master bedroom with a King bed; and a laundry room. Upstairs you will find two rooms: a large room with a queen bed and two twin trundle beds (sleeping for 4 in twins or make 2 kings) and a loft room with a door for privacy and a full size bed. There is also a full, tiled bath upstairs with a tub/shower.

This cabin has been in our family for many years and has seen generations of families. We are kid friendly but sorry, no 'furry' kids:) In the winter relax by the wood burning stove and play games or watch your favorite movie. Just a short drive to Homewood Ski Resort for skiiing or snow-boarding or to Granlibakken for some sledding. If you don't want to venture out, enjoy sledding or cross country skiing on the Rubicon Trail. In the summer (our favorite time of the year) walk out the door onto the deck and enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the area. Grill up some dinner on our gas or charcoal barbeque, sit back and relax. You may even see a black bear stroll through the landscape! If the beach is what you are looking for, we have many nearby with our favorite being Meeks Bay.

We hope you will enjoy our cabin as much as we do.

Comfortable, clean, extraordinarily well equipped cabin in lovely neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was exactly what I was expecting, and a great value. Very nice and amazingly well equipped remodeled kitchen. Nice, spotless remodeled bathrooms. Beds very comfortable with plenty of extra bedding. Unfortunately, it was unusually hot when we were staying, which made the upstairs pretty warm. The downstairs stayed cool, despite no air conditioning (which I didn't even look for, as it is rarely as warm as during our stay). House felt completely safe; nice neighborhood. Parking good.

Being an older cabin (tho nicely updated) it is a bit dark. We had a short stay for a wedding and event the night before, so didn't cook much or use the nice grill and outside table.

Would definitely recommend the Rubicon Retreat!

Also, Cindy was helpful, available, and responsive to questions. Check in was easy.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind response! I am happy you enjoyed your stay. You will have to return for longer next time :-) I know it was unusually warm during your stay however being in the mountains it does eventually cool down in the evenings which is nice. We hope to host you again in the future !!

Lovely cabin

  • 5 of 5

We do a girls trip to Tahoe and always stay in Homewood. This VRBO was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The deck was big with ample seating to enjoy an outdoor meal. The cabin was well stocked with everything you might need for an enjoyable stay. We appreciated that we were able to rent for 4 nights as opposed to the full week!

All the comforts of home in the beautiful Tahoe forest!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful cabin in a beautiful Tahoe forest McKinney Estates neighborhood. The cabin is charmingly decorated and full of amenities. The property owners are very generous with a well-stocked kitchen, furnishings and supplies. The forest area around the property is beautiful and relaxing. This is the first time we’ve stayed on the west shore. We are now true believers that the “west side is the best side” .

Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

It was the perfect cabin for our family. It was us and our 4 little ranging from .2-8. Plenty of firewood and the kitchen was crazy well stocked. Was able to make a cake. Brand new everything to include washer and dryer that saved us. Had to continually dry the kids snow pants, hats and jackets. Walking distance to rubicon trail. We spent a day sledding a nearby Granlikken as well. Drive way and road to house was always being plowed in a timely manner definitely will stay again. We probably could only fit 2 more people before we felt crowded

Very cozy house in a wonderful location.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this very clean and well equipped house. We were three adults and two kids, so the three bedrooms were perfect for us. One bedroom has quite a lot of beds, so theoretically there would have been space for more people.

The house was clean, and has a tasteful interior. No problem with nothing. The house is surrounded by trees and some houses here and there, but you still have a feeling of being wonderfully secluded. We enjoyed the place in winter with a bit of snow around. The rubicon trail starts nearby and is worth a hike.

I believe it's also a lot of fun in the summer with this nice deck leading directly from the kitchen/dining area to the outsides. It was very easy with kids, they were happy just playing outside in the woods.

We definitely want to come back soon. We would have prolonged our stay, but unfortunately the house was already booked. No wonder!
