We love spending time here with our 3 kids, surfing, exploring the beach, riding bikes, playing ping-pong, building bonfires and just taking a break from our regular busy routine.

We make this house available to our friends, and want all our guests to feel just as welcome and valued.

Why David Miller chose Manzanita

We've been visiting Manzanita for 20 years, and during that time rented homes in all areas of the town. We finally purchased our beach home in 2010 because it was the perfect combination for a vacationing family.

The miles-long stretch of beach out front is beautiful for walking and sand castle-building, and golf and shopping are just a few minutes away down the dedicated bike path to town.

Our street is very (very) quiet and we have wonderful neighbors.

The state park is 2 blocks south, with miles of walking and biking trails along the Nehalem River.

The house has a double garage with a ping-pong table, so guests have plenty to keep themselves busy.

What makes this house unique

The sand begins at the end of our dead-end street. It's 132 steps from our front door (as measured repeatedly by our 3 kids). The coffee & donut shop is our favorite place to walk in the morning. Other great food spots include Mudd Dog (in the summer), the San Dune Tavern, Bread & Ocean bakery, and Marzano's Pizza. There are also 2 grocery stores right in town if you'd rather stock up the kitchen and stay home. Oh, and our kids' favorite place is the vintage candy shop.

Fantastic family beach vacation

Great location

Outside of town so its quiet, very close to the dunes and the state park. Can walk to golf course. House is in good shape with good strong hot water and a modern large kitchen. Couches are a bit old but beds were all comfortable. Can sleep 6 adults comfortably. Has a pack and play in closet for babies. There is a stairway gate too but it was broken. Stairway is steep and oddly angled--not toddler or elderly friendly unfortunately. We had a great time and owner was easy to contact. Definitely would stay again.

Perfect Beach Get-Away!

What a great week of relaxation, sunshine, beach fun, great food, and family time! The pictures, description, and information provided about the house and surroundings were spot on. It was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We definitely enjoyed several of the restaurants suggested by the owner; great dinner at the Blackbird, hamburgers at the Wave, and pizza at Marzano's all in Manzanita. We spent the better part of morning walking in the quaint town of Manzanita, browsing in the shops, trying the handmade sweets at Manzanita Sweets, eventally making our way to lunch at The Wave. We had started off thinking we'd enjoy a burger at the Sand Dune Pub but were surprised it's not for families with kids, no minors. They were very gracious in recommending The Wave and the burgers did not disappoint. In Cannon Beach, we enjoyed dinner at the Irish Table and don't miss the amazing coffee at the Sleepy Monk Coffee Roasters. We ate plenty of meals at the house with it's fully equipped kitchen (including a tea pot which I used daily). We shopped at both Fresh Foods and The Little Apple in Manzanita, easily finding everything we needed for both gourmet and basic meals. Manzanita Golf Course was also great fun. Its nine holes provided some challenges and also great for beginners. Very reasonable greens fees. Our kids raved about the surfing, thanks to the wetsuits and boards from Cleanline Surf in Cannon Beach. Tom, at Cleanline Surf, recommended a great location for beginners to surf, Short Sands Beach, close by. Parents and children alike loved the bonfire on the beach. Clams in foil over the coals were a huge hit before roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. Our kids were begging to stay longer and we will definitely return again! Thanks for sharing a little bit of your beach heaven!

Clean, well managed, helpful owners

House was nice, clean, fun little nooks for the kiddos to explore. Having the grill to use was great. Owners were very responsive to questions or needs. Only thing that I felt could have been better were the kitchen pots/pans need upgrading. Non stick is flaking, could have used a few more larger pans and pots, but we are cookers.
