Beautiful, greatly appointed, everything you could possibly want/need
House is beautiful and view is better. We didn't avail ourselves of the pool/tennis/other options - pool was closed and we just got too busy to make the tennis happen. I've never stayed where there was every dish/linen you could possibly need (except a pizza slicer). I don't think there's anything to be done about it but do wish there was a full bath accessible via a hall instead of all being in bedrooms. We know others who were part of the wedding we went down for plan to rent it themselves after visiting us there.
We appreciate this great review because much effort has been put into making sure PARADISE ON THE CHESAPEAKE BAY has everything needed for an enjoyable vacation. We will have our architect take a look and see if a hall bathroom is feasible. In the meantime we are on our way to get a pizza slicer, the one thing we over looked! We look forward to the wedding party guest staying with us.
The house was very well equipped but we are water lovers and ended up at the beach in Cape Charles.
There was ample marine life in the waters behind the house and we had not expected as much sea weed. So we just took the golf carts to the beach in town which was a little disappointing but turned out fine. We had 3 families so the way the bathrooms were arranged was a little odd to us. Over all a good experience
We absolutely loved the house. With six children, we all needed our space. My husband and I retreated to 'The Crow's Nest' often. Naps, kayaking, bike riding became the norm for a week. The amenities of the house were excellent. We saved so much space not having to bring beach towels/linens. We also played cards and Scrabble, while enjoying the amazing view. Our weather wasn't great, but it was still a fabulous vacation. I can't wait to go back. Southern Living magazine had it right. Cape Charles is a hidden gem.
Great house with spectacular sunsets!
This is a wonderful vacation house. It is very well stocked with most anything you might want or need. A week of relaxing, family and fun was our goal and this house was the perfect spot. The screened porch was the ideal spot for enjoying coffee in the morning, a nap in the afternoon, and the beautiful sunset each evening. It seemed to be the spot everyone gravitated to just to hang out and enjoy the view of the bay. We wanted to be on the beach, but didn't want a crazy busy boardwalk town. Cape Charles was perfect, cute shops, great restaurants with an hometown feel. Would recommend this home and town completely. By the way, rent a golf cart to get get around town, it was a fun and easy way to get around.
Beautiful house on the bay in a lovely small town on the east coast
Wonderful house with everything you could need for a week at the beach! Fully stocked kitchen, games, movies, ping pong table, bikes, paddle boards, kayaks, beach chairs and umbrellas. The views from the screened in back porch are amazing especially at sunset. We loved eating and playing games out there or just relaxing on the chairs and couches. Town is just a few minutes away by car or golf cart (we rented a cart, but it wasn't really necessary since it was early in the season although it was fun for the kids). Cape Charles seems like the quaint small town described in many novels I've read but have never experienced. We enjoyed walking down Mason Street and stopping at the shops and restaurants (but most do close early so be sure to check the hours before you go).
We never even went to the pool or public beach since we had our own private beach right off the back of the house for the kids to enjoy. The water is very shallow, especially at low tide. Water shoes are a must as there are lots of shells and seaweed on the beach - also be careful if climbing on the rocks as they are slippery. There was plenty of comfortable seating inside for everyone to play, relax, read or watch a movie. Overall, an absolutely wonderful vacation house - thank you to the owners and rental agents for being so helpful and great to deal with!
What a nice review about enjoying your stay at the beach in our beachfront home. Like so many of our guests, you also seemed to enjoy the yesteryear experience of little old historic Cape Charles. Glad to hear your kids had fun touring in your golf cart in Cape Charles where golf carts are fun and street-legal. We really liked your portrayal of your vacation in Cape Charles as a laid back, family oriented vacation in a quaint, little Bayside town where you can fully relax and have fun with your family. Thank you. The Rental Agents.
The place to be. 1st Class in all respects.
Paradise on the Chesapeake Bay is a beautiful well appointed rental. Our family used PCB as our gathering place for our Grandson's Wedding and all were impressed with how nice everything was. PCB exceeded all of out expectations.
Thank you for your nice review. It looks like Paradise on the Chesapeake Bay is becoming very popular with wedding parties. We wish your Grandson and his new bride all the best as together they embark on their new journey into the future!
The Paradise on the Chesapeake Bay home is a beachfront beauty that has it all: Beach, Sunsets over the Bay, boats going in and coming out of Kings Creek Marina, and a few steps away at a fine dining waterfront restaurant and oyster bar. Situated in a village of Bay Creek Resort known as “The Colony,” the home’s West Indies style and colors are typical of the other homes in this beachfront village. A professional linen company is provided with this home.
