This premier quality, professionally decorated log cabin has it all - luxurious, spacious accommodations (over 2,000 square feet), mountain views, and stars so close you might think you touch one. This cabin will be your favorite family destination in the Smoky Mountains!

You can catch your favorite team or watch a movie on one of the four satellite TV's. Kids can have fun with the Playstation 2 and the assortment of games, watch movies on one of the two DVD players, or listen to favorite CD's in the game room while playing on the 5-in-1 game table.

Cabin has two private master bedroom suites. Upstairs you can rest your head on a plush, king-size hickory twig canopy bed by night and then, fully-rested, enjoy your cup of coffee on the balcony while drinking in all the sights and sounds of nature surrounding you.

The upstairs master bedroom also features a bubbly two-person jetted whirlpool tub and large sitting area with queen-size sleeper sofa and a sassafras rocking chair.

The main floor features an open and spacious design and includes a living room, kitchen, half-bath, and laundry area. Relax in front of the large flat screen TV and stacked-stone gas fireplace. Enjoy a meal on the unique, Amish-made log table and chairs. From the living room, you can access the great wrap-around deck where you can enjoy the soothing, big hot tub, oversized log rocking chairs, or grill up your favorite steaks on the gas grill.

Downstairs in the walk-out basement, the kids will love the twin-size log bunk beds, CD player and radio, 5-in-1 game table, Playstation 2 with games, watching movies on the TV with DVD player or sitting on the log furniture outside on the patio. The second master suite is also located in the lower level and features a gorgeous king-sized bed, dresser, and large bathroom. And just to make sure you have room for the whole family the second queen sleeper sofa is located in the game room on the lower level. (No closet available in this bedroom downstairs).

BENEATH THE STARS is located in a private gated log home community (about 15 minutes from downtown), UP IN THE MOUNTAINS, this cabin is not easily reached by low sports cars. This resort has 24 hour guards, swimming pool (in-season), tennis courts and more. It is close enough to Dollywood and the Parkway to be convenient, and just far enough away to feel like you're 'in the mountains'. (Car passes are required to enter this resort.)

Stay at BENEATH THE STARS once and we promise, you'll want to return year after year.

NOTE: This cabin is HIGH up on a mountain ridge, and has a paved driveway, but it is not for the faint of heart.

About Rachelle

My family found ourselves returning to the Smoky Mountains several times a year to vacation. We loved renting cabins and always felt more 'at home' when we rented cabins. We decided to purchase our own log cabin in the mountains and would love to share our cozy cabin with your family. We are sure you'll love it!

Rachelle purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Rachelle chose East

Located in Shagbark Log Community made BENEATH THE STARS a good choice! We love the safety and security that comes with the gated community. We also fell in love with the views from this cabin - really was the best that we looked at purchasing.

What makes this cabin unique

The quiet night can't be beat - Owls and crickets fill the night with song! ENJOY THE CONVENIENCE OF TWO SEPARATE KING SIZE SUITES WITH FULL BATH plus another 1/2 bath! Separate game room in the basement the kids will be sure to LOVE! Cabin in in close proximity to many popular attractions! Our family loves Dollywood and would recommend it to everyone! There are great shows to see - something for everyone!

Beautiful cabin

  • 5 of 5

Loved this spacious beautiful and very clean cabin, We had everything we needed. We were away from it all in the mountains but at the same time pretty close to all the activities. The driveway is pretty steep but nothing that can't be done after you go up like 2 or 3 times it's a piece of cake. Definitely recommend this cabin!

The mountains were beautiful, cabin pretty but owners and maintenance not helpful

  • 1 of 5

My family and I (6 of us) stayed for 6 nights in this cabin. The first night was nice no issues except my mom was hearing a drip in the downstairs bedroom. She woke up and didn't see any water so we went out for the day only to come back to a fairly good size wet spot on the one side of the bed and water dripping from the ceiling. I tried to call owners but no answer so I called maintenance man but he couldn't get to it til morning. So 2nd night couldn't sleep in one of the main beds. Day 3 maintenance came, we left because well, it's our vacation, who wants to hang out when people are going to be tearing things apart? We came back that evening to find boards taken out of the ceiling and it had seemed to have been fixed, we were told by maintenance that plumber came and hopefully it was fixed but also reminded that the maintenance man had to stop what he was doing in Daytona to come check it out...well whatever! So night 3 mom gets to sleep in there only later in the day she once again finds water leaking, only this time it's 2 spots on the bed and across the ceiling toward the closet. Owners and maintenance were again notified. Maintenance replies "thx" to my text with no plan of action, when asked if plumber would be back? No response. Owner replied to text that maintenance would be notified. So ok, for 3 days of our 6 day trip we've had a leaking room that can't be slept in, not to mention the property association that owns the pool closed that for 2 days for gate replacement on the 2 hottest days we were there. Well on our last day stay, here comes a "plumber"...I'm not entirely sure because they show up in a water treatment truck so who knows?! This was supposed to be our relax at the cabin day! By this time water has continued to leak, we have 4 bowls and 1 tote in the bedroom and now 2 pans in the bathroom where water has run across the ceiling and started to leak. Not small leaks either, we're talking we emptied these each night the last 2 nights we were there and water coming in from floor in kitchen. So in 6 nights, the bed could be slept in 2 of them! Granted, we had pull out sofas but we didn't choose a cabin with 2 bedrooms for no reason! The owners nor maintenance were mean, just not accommodating to this situation. The owner's solution to this problem was a VERY small refund compared to the rates we paid, not even close to a solution when we were out a bedroom for 4 of those nights! We will not stay there again.

Great place to stay with beautiful views.

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a week while my youngest son played baseball at Cal Ripken. Family loved the cabin. My boys stayed on lower level with bedroom and gameroom. My husband and I stayed on top level. The decks, hot tub and views were a big hit. The driveway is steep but my 4x4 truck handled it well. Turning around was tight but my husband did well using our backup camera. Loved having a fully stocked kitchen and washer/dryer. Would definitely recommend as long as you are prepared for the driveway 😉

Exactly what we needed!!

  • 5 of 5

For starters, if you're looking to take a break from the world... THIS IS THE PLACE. It's up in the hills away from everything. BEWARE OF YOUR FIRST VENTURE UP THE DRIVE WAY! WHEW!! IT'S NO JOKE. The second (maybe third, lol) time will be a breeze. The cabin was spacious yet very cozy. There was a good amount of us on our trip but everyone was comfortable and had their own space. While the property was in a rather secluded area it's only 15 mins from anything you'd want to do! The hot tub wouldn't get hot, but I'm sure that's an easy fix... We just didn't have time to call and wait for someone. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better environment to relax and catch up with family.

Without electricity for 22 hours - cabin owner no help!

  • 2 of 5

Don't stay here unless you want to be without electricity! After a storm started, five minutes into it, the power went out for 22 hours. We called cabin owner to find out if they had flashlights or anything in the cabin to help out, they did not. There were no buckets, so we could not use the toilets during this time (or water). The cabin got really hot - the windows don't open. The cabin owner was rude when we called her about the power outage and was of no help or assistance during this time. She made us feel like we were bothering her by calling. Tree branches were down all along the path down the mountain and into town so we couldn't get out for awhile. The cabin itself was nice, although no yard at all. The décor is cute and fitting. Drive way EXTREMELY steep, very hard to get up and down to take stuff inside, not good at all for small children. We had 4 wheel drive vehicles and it was still very difficult to drive up the driveway. The mattresses on the pull out couches and 2nd bedroom were horrible, but the master bedroom mattress was comfortable. There were not very many towels for 8 people, so bring your own! There are also many items missing in the kitchen if you're going to cook there. No detergent for washer or dishwasher-bring your own. Peeling paint all over on decks and all the rocking chairs were peeling terribly (rocking chairs in the main picture were not there - they were all painted rocking chairs). Small hole on the main deck which is dangerous for kids. Not a good cabin if you have small children. It was nice to have the three levels since we were two families and each had our own sleeping area. The cabin is about 20 minutes from Pigeon Forge and about 40 minutes from Gatlinburg. Would not come back to this one.

Great Owner, Great Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay at Beneath the stars. We love Shagbark and have rented there everytime we go to Pigeon Forge. There were a few hiccups we experienced but the owner was amazing! The kids loved the bottom floor area and my husband and I loved the 3rd floor! Driveway is steep but super fun to take on!!
