About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 6)

A unique character home in a private setting steps from the beautiful Ruby Lake. This well equipped, comfortable home is a scenic 40 minute ferry ride from Vancouver and an hour drive up the Sunshine Coast Highway.

Enjoy quiet romantic evenings in front of a roaring log fire having cooked a gourmet meal in the fully equipped modern kitchen. Or, perhaps relax on the large deck overlooking the lake whilst enjoying a glass of wine and a BBQ as you watch the sunset over the beautiful and serene Ruby coloured lake.

The ground floor offers two double bedrooms, one with a full 5-piece en-suite and the other with an adjacent modern shower room. There is a laundry area fitted with new front loading washer and dryer appliances; laundry detergents, an iron and an ironing board are also provided. A basic kitchen area allows preparation for food to be enjoyed outside as you sit with family and friends around the fire pit on the front lawn. Or, if you prefer, you can snuggle up on the leather sofa in front of the log burner in the 'snug room' with a book from the wide selection offered on the bookcases.

Downstairs also has an expansive area for storing bikes, kayaks or whatever holiday gear you and the family bring along with you.

On the main floor is the large master bedroom suite with a jacuzzi bath and shower. A fully equipped kitchen with gas stove opens onto the main living room with TV, stereo and DVD player. A grand open fireplace, vaulted ceilings, picture windows and hardwood floors compliment the living area. A separate dining room with farmhouse table and chairs for entertaining allows access onto the spacious deck.

The deck is equipped with a gas BBQ and a full patio set which seats six. The perfect spot to enjoy the views over the lake, whatever the time of day.

This character home has everything you need for a wonderful, relaxing and memorable holiday.

Great Weekend Away

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect, everything was neat and tidy when we showed up and had everything we needed for a great weekend away. The property was beautiful, though we spent the majority of our time on the dock because the lake was so nice. Lisa was very helpful with organising our trip and made the entire transaction process as smooth as possible.

Wouldn't hesitate to come back!

Beautiful fall get-away

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 nights at this lovely home on Ruby Lake. After an initial panic, as we were given the wrong code for the door, we were luckily able to reach the owners and got the correct code. Once inside, the house was perfect for us and our fur babies. The weather was still nice enough to enjoy some late afternoon sun on the deck overlooking the lake. There were a few people coming and going, but generally our time there was very quiet.

The house was fully stocked with everything we could need, including a nice selection of DVDs for cozy nights in with a crackling fire.

During our stay, we explored the area with our dogs- the Skookumchuk trail was great, and the Suncoaster trail was a great place for an off leash adventure. On our last day, we drove into Garden Bay and stopped at Laverne's diner. It was their last day before closing for the winter, and it was soooo good!

We enjoyed every minute of our holiday, and we're grateful to have had such a beautiful home to stay in. We'll definitely be back!

Not as advertised

  • 3 of 5

Not really on the lake, more like near the lake. You have to share the public boat launch dock which can be busy at times. Great place for boaters, not so good if you want to relax on a lake with your own dock. The place was clean.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments Dave. Our place is located 100ft from the lake, so a few steps away. At the lakeshore there is the public launch for the lake, which due to the lake being perfect for boating, does get busy on summer weekends. As this area is prime holiday country, it is good to keep in mind that there will be more activity around the lake then. Outside of the weekends, we tend to find it is much more peaceful and often have the place to ourselves.

Great property, exactly as described

  • 5 of 5

Nice large house, located just 10 steps to Ruby Lake. There were 2 stand-up paddle boards available for us to use and our two boys loved it. Stayed out there for hours exploring Ruby Lake. Would definitely come back. Thanks again!

Quiet Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We were so lucky to discover this beautiful cottage on Ruby Lake.

The cottage is well equipped and beautifully decorated. It is close to so many hiking trails, each one offering different breathtaking views. Because we were there in April, we had the lake almost to ourselves. Canoeing around all the little islands and inlets was a joy.

Lisa was a great help with tips for grocery shopping, hiking etc, always answering our inquiries quickly.

We still have lots left to explore on the Sunshine Coast and would not hesitate to stay here again!

Beautiful clean lake, well stocked and comfortable home.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I loved our time at Ruby Lake. The water is perfect for swimming and paddling in. We paddle boarded, kayaked, and canoed around the shores. We found the rope swing on the far side of the lake, whoohoo!

Your home was welcoming, comfortable, clean, well organized and well stocked. It is also HUGE! Next time we are bringing more friends and family to stay. The back porch is lovely for coffee in the morning to catch the first rays of the sun, and later in the day to get out of the heat. The sunny big deck is perfect for barbecues and dining. (I would love to see a lounger or two on the deck for those of us who want to read a book in the sunshine.)

Would recommend going to Ruby Lake Resort to watch the beavers in the lagoon.

We are so grateful that you allow pets. Our fur baby enjoyed her swim time too.

Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. Hope to return soon.
