My husband and I are computer consultants and you might run into us in and around Aspen working in the stores and restaurants. We moved to the Roaring Fork Valley from Oklahoma 12 years ago, and love snowboarding and skiing, camping, fishing and biking. We have a black lab named Sneaky who loves to make friends and hike.
Katy Williams purchased this house in 2010
When the house next door went up for sale, we jumped at the chance to own a house where our family can spend time with us without being crammed in our already overfilled home. We have two little boys who love to see their grandparents as often as they can!
We love being on the bus line! You never have to worry about the weather or finding a parking place in Aspen. And the bus drops you off right at the slopes, so you don't have to bring driving shoes! In the summer you can jump on the Rio Grande Trail and ride your bike and then bus it back home. The Rio Grande is groomed for cross country when there's snow - I love to go as far as I can up hill and turn around and glide back home. There's a great fishing hole across the street and boat ramp access is about 1/4 a mile away. Glenwood Springs is 25 miles down valley and we love to explore the graveyard where Doc Holliday is buried... or is he? The hot springs are fun for all ages and are open all year.
Our experience at this house in Snowmass was great! It was comfortable, clean and had everything you would ever need in the kitchen to prepare meals. The house feels very spacious and very nicely decorated. It was so nice to have a gas grill to use right out the back door. It is very convenient to all ski basins - you can catch the bus to all the basins right across the hwy. from the house and to anywhere up and down the valley from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. Even though, the house sits right on Hwy. 82, it was surprisingly quiet! - really never heard cars going past! The house is particularly close (3 minutes) to Basalt and 5-10 minutes to City Market and Whole Foods. We would love to rent this house again in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a house in this location.
Good commuting location for skiing - 30 minutes from door to gondlola. Lots of space and close to shopping, restaurants, etc. Hope to stay again with family.
Our second relaxing stay in this comfortable home. Well equipped and clean. A perfect location for access to activities in the valley. We entertained our grandchildren here and look forward to our next visit.
Great home with all the conveniences and comforts! 3 teen boys and 2 couples were comfortable with plenty of room. Thanks for offering your home at such a great rate enabling us to enjoy Aspen during the holiday season.
This was our second year at this house, which is conveniently located on the way to the Aspen slopes and close to shopping and restaurants. The property is perfect for a 3 generation, 6 person holiday and the price is right. The owners live next door and they are great folks.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. It is the best value in this area. The house is clean, with all the amenities you need. It is close to Snowmass and Aspen and public transportation (without paying the high prices). It is located on the highway with the highway noise but we are so glad to find a place that is reasonable, clean and spacious. The owners were great, too! We would recommend it!
Fly fishing very close by, walk down in your waders. The bus picks up just across the street every 30 minutes to drop you off at all four ski mountains. Don't have to worry about parking at the slopes.
