The double wooden entry doors welcome you to come inside to an inviting foyer. Ten foot ceilings throughout the unit. Three well-appointed guest rooms,each with its own bath, two have king beds with a balcony and one a queen, are the first rooms you encounter before you venture down the beautifully designed travertine hallway leading to the wet bar and kitchen areas. The custom designed cherry cabinets have all the utensils you need to prepare a gourmet meal, or enjoy a fresh shrimp cocktail on the lanai overlooking the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. Sunrises are especially gorgeous with an unobstructed view of 25 miles including Gulf Shores in the distance. This unit has its own dining room (was 5th bedroom),with seating for eight to enjoy your home cooked meal,or play games with the entire family. The wet-bar includes an ice machine, sink, and cabinet for glasses. The lanai has two high top tables with seating for six, an electric grill, and two side chairs and small table. The master bedroom is very spacious with built in bookcases, office space,and sitting area. You also have your own private door to the lanai. The sunset comes through the west window overlooking the pool and well-maintained grounds of the Beach Club. The master bathroom includes a jucuzzi tub for two, a travertine shower with two heads and controls, two sinks, television, and walk in master closet.

We've stayed at the Beach Club 4 times prior to this trip, but this was our 1st time in Avalon penthouse #1. Everything about the place is top notch. Master suite and bath are huge. All 4 bedrooms have their own private bath. 3 of the 4 bedrooms have king beds. Master suite has a door to the main balcony, which can also be accessed from 3 doors in the living room. Main balcony is L shaped facing the gulf and east toward Gulf Shores. 2 other bedrooms share a balcony facing east that have a beautiful view of both the gulf and the bay. The floor plan of the place begins at the entrance where there is a long hallway with 3 bedrooms. The hallway leads to the huge open kitchen, dining, living area. The kitchen contains everything you'll need for any meal preparation. Dining area has a large table for 8. Wet bar has an ice maker which provided all the ice we needed for 4 days on the beach. The living area has 2 sofas, 1 facing tv and built in shelves, the other facing outside. The master is just off the main living area and has windows overlooking the gulf and the pools. The Beach Club has always been our favorite place on the gulf, but this place has just made it our only choice for future trips here.

Thanksgiving getaway

We had a wonderful time Thanksgiving weekend at this condo. The views were incredible. The condo was well equipped and the kirchen and family rooms were a great size for a large group. Other than a couple of the guest bathrooms showing their age it was a wonderful experience overall.

The Beach Club property was very safe, clean & convenient access to the beach! Our group/family of 10 enjoyed the pools onsite & walkways to the beach!

The PH was amazing! Had everything we wanted for a perfect family vacation celebrating our high school & college grads! From the surround sound throughout the condo, wet bar, huge lanai to jacuzzi tub in master suite, we loved it! As a Mom, I really appreciated all the details put into our "Home Away" from home. Best family vacation so far, thank you Rusty & Home Away for a memorable time we will never forget!!

Beautiful place to enjoy the beach

The condo and furnishings are beautiful! Love the corner balcony. The master suite is luxurious. The kitchen is fairly well stocked for cooking, with a few exceptions. There are Teflon skillets that need to be replaced, as the Teflon is in bad shape, and the cookie sheets need to be replaced, as well. The oven needs a thorough cleaning; it was very smoky when we preheated to cook a meal. The ice maker in the refrigerator wasn't producing ice when we got there, and once it was turned on, very little ice was produced. Fortunately, there is a separate ice maker at the wet bar. Other than these minor issues, our experience was very enjoyable.

This unit is a one of a kind. It rises above the others on the edge of the two towers alone along the beach. When you get off of the elevator, its a left right left right left right left right..Whew! (not a long walk) to a corridor that opens to a secluded entry with wooden double doors. Once inside it has the quiet and mystique of a library. You will feel that you are alone in the sky.

The owners have done an excellent job of outfitting the condo with just about anything you could think of and more. I felt very much at home and said more than one " I could live here". The master suite is magnificent. The secondary bedrooms each have their own bath. The harvest table in the common area brings everyone together at meal or board game time. All in all, a great floor plan.

A few years ago it was decided that we would only stay in beach front property because of the most excellent views. This is the best the Gulf of Mexico has to offer, high above the wide white beach. We even had a hawk that thought the balcony was a nice spot too.

Once you decide to be around people again (it took me a few days) the beach club has a nice fitness room, a warm salt water pool, and saunas. We were there in off season and plenty of room. Not sure it is big enough for in season, but they will let you tour the facilities before buying into the club use.

We were confused about their rates, but they basically charge per bedroom, per day.

The Fort Morgan tour and museum was worth the trip. I've seen many historic forts and although this isn't the best, it had lots of photo opps and interesting history. This is where you will catch the ferry to the other side of Mobile Bay.

Between the Fort and the Beach Club on the South side of the road be sure to stop at: The Sassy Bass for good food and refreshments. Best drinks in a 30 mile radius. Would you believe they have a breakfast bar too?

If you want to do the shopping and different restaurants, Gulf Shores is just minutes away, but that is another story in itself.
