Our home is newly renovated and can sleep 6 people in three bedrooms with double beds.
On the ground floor our living room has a beautiful old fireplace and vaulted ceilings, French doors open onto our private terrace which has a summer kitchen and plancha for al fresco dining. It's lovely and cool here .... Steps down to the kitchen, which boasts dishwasher, and all mod cons. And so easy to pass food over to the dining table that seats 6 adjoining.
Stairs lead to the first floor with a gorgeous veranda, ideal for sitting in the sun in the early or late season, or opens out to a terrace for real sun worshippers. The master bedroom has an ensuite shower and bathroom. The bath is super luxurious, large, and with a jacuzzi option. There is a separate shower cubicle with multi head shower. Double sink too. Lots of space as well as cupboard space in our Master bed. All furnished with style. Stairs lead to the second floor with 2 more double bedrooms, spacious with lots of storeage and a separate shower room and loo. These bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning.
Just tucked away in a little sidestreet in the centre of the village, we are ideally situated for a morning stroll to the boulangerie, perhaps stopping off for a coffee at the cafe in the square next to the Chateau. We have restaurant on our doorstep.
Private car park and 2 hybrid bicycles (VTC) are available as Aubais is ideal for cycling. Just crossing fields behind us leads you to the voie verte (converted train track) that is 20km long and joins Sommières and Caveirac - bikes can also be rented in nearby Calvisson.
Gallargues le Montueux just 5 minutes drive away has an open air pool for the Summer months. It's a great place for a picnic on the grass, you can spend all day there!
We are situated in the beautiful old Gardoise village of Aubais, halfway between Roman Nimes and Montpellier and just 30 minutes from the Mediterranean and it's beaches. Just 1 hour drive will bring you to the Pont du Gard or Avignon.
If you love markets, you've come to the right place. Sommieres market is Saturday morning, Calvisson Sunday morning. There are great places to meet the locals, buy your fresh produce and something to bring home too. They are both just 5 minutes drive away.
We are only 20 minutes from the start of the Camargue. If you love nature, just drive this way, horse riding in the lakes with the flamingoes at sunset is a must! Go and see the running of the bulls in all the small village during the Summer too - again, great places to meet the locals.
