About Juergen Nieveler

My wife Miriam and I have been many times guests at these lovely holiday houses. In 2010 we got the unique opportunity to buy this lovely property.

For us this place has always been paradise. This place has everything we expected from making holidays in Provence: sun, pool, lavender, the lovely smell of provencal herbs, lots of fantastic restaurant. For us it is the best site to relax. And our guest do share our love.

Why Juergen Nieveler chose Saignon

We simply bought this property, since we did not wanted to see it being transformed into a private residence for somebody who is using it only 3 weeks a year.

What makes this cottage unique

This property is so quiet. You can only hear the birds and the wind in the trees. The lavender fields are in front of your window, so that you can always go down for a wine and smell the lavender, even in december when it is out of bloom. We find this simply unique and stunning! Naturefans and Porvence lovers will defenitely adore the house and the area. Hiking, mountainbiking or just relaxing at the pool offers everything one could look for in a good holiday. The nearby wineries and restaurants are exquisit. From November to february you can find the local truffles in all forms and comparably cheap to the rest of Europe. In spring it is always sunny and warm, the cherry trees blossom. It is therefore a good way to escape the rainy north. A Golfcourse, the ocean and ski possibilities are all witihin the reach of one to two hours in case you want to explore more.

We are proud to say, it is the perfect place for a unique provencial holidays, alone, with your partner and your children.

We spent a week here in late August 2012, and were lucky enough to come back for a few days last May. It is without a doubt one of the most effortlessly relaxing spots one could find in the world. The surrounding region borders on the excessive in its charms: fantastic nature for walks; lovely towns for coffee and food; perfect views to compliment a bottle of wine.

The houses themselves are thoughtfully furnished, the pool is lovely an the garden is well kept. Most importantly, the entire experience is hassle free.

Everything is so agreeable in fact, we're looking forward to visiting for a late summer's holiday again this year.

Relaxing times !

La Borie was for me and my family the perfect get away. This gave us an instant

feeling of home and it is very comfortable. The location was perfect for

us to enjoy the sun, to hike in typical provencal surroundings and go for

bike rides. We'll be back again!

A most relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife, daughter and myself enjoyed a lovely stay at Miriam and Jurgen's cottages. While less than a 10 minute drive from the closest town, one believe they had been transported back to a period before cars or aeroplanes; absolute peace and quiet. This, combined with the picturesque towns to visit in each direction, made for a most relaxing way to spend our time. Our young daughter also made use of the swimming pool, and decided on a career in archaeology after earnestly examining many of the ancient shepherds' huts surrounding the property.

This was a lovely experience which we certainly plan to repeat.

The smell of lavender. A wonderful holiday!

  • 5 of 5

Me, my husband and our two grandchildren spend two lovely weeks here last year.

The children were always playing in the garden as the property is very spacious. We were swimming in the pool, pick nicking next to the lavender fields and cooking with the fresh vegetables from the saturday market in Apt. Everything lived up to our expectations and even better!

It was a perfect retreat. We will definitely come back!
