TO RESERVE, PLEASE ASK FOR PROPERTY CODE: Broadhead Mountain Retreat
The Broadhead Mountain Retreat is located just a short drive from the city-limts of Charlottesville, taking you out of town, while still overlooking it. Broadhead, completed in 2011, offers modern living with rustic charm and quality. There are two private bedrooms to choose from –a master bedroom offering a high-end Savy Sleeper queen sized mattress and private bath and on the opposite side of the home a bedroom with two twin beds. If you feel like sleeping by a stone wood-burning fireplace claim the queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room. The open living room, with wide plank floors and wall of windows gives you a breathtaking view of the Piedmont Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains. The view alone is reason enough to stay here. The kitchen is both practical and aesthetically pleasing, fit for a chef, with stained wood countertops, stainless-steel refrigerator, dishwasher, stove and plenty of cabinet space. Whether you feel like eating at the kitchen table inside, or sitting outside, you’ll be taking in the essence of Mother Nature.
This is the ideal setting if you feel like getting away from the hustle and bustle but still want to be close; Broadhead sits on top of a private mountain on over 100 acres of private land. If you want to spend some quality time in the country, breathe in clean mountain air or just go for a hike, then this might just be the perfect place.

This property is the ideal modern mountain getaway. The house is BEAUTIFUL. The exterior is understated, but you will be speechless upon stepping inside. It has a fully stocked kitchen, private sleeping areas, large deck with grill for relaxing and a view from every window. Be aware that the last few miles of the road is gravel. Just go slowly. It's worth the drive. The only thing missing was a mirror in the bedroom. That would have been a nice addition when two people are getting ready for the day. Walk (or drive) further up the road to the mountain top for a sunset.. breath taking. We do want to return!
This house blew away our expectations. Specifically:
*loveliness of the views
*newness of the house
*quality of the house
*felt much larger than it appeared in pictures
*quiet and rural setting, but 10 minutes from Starbucks!
*strong Verizon and AT&T LTE data at the property
*55" Sony LCD HDTV - AWESOME; plus a Polk soundbar!
*great walking/running/biking trails everywhere
*professional management via Stay Charlottesville
Such a good experience with this property!
Great, comfortable, well-equipped fun. Suggest that more specific instructions are left about operation of fireplace and grill. Decks and front entrance covered with stink bugs. Think we managed to keep them out, however, recommend some spray of those areas before guests arrive. Also we did not locate the "tank"/"oil tank" that was given as a landmark to note when going up the unpaved road. Perhaps some sort of something like a series of 5 roadside reflectors could be placed along that drive at a point 200 feet from house to help those locating this in the dark. The guest advisors and evening duty person were most helpful in booking this and getting us there when we were uncertain if we were lost in the dark.
Beautifully constructed, warm and appealing with a great kitchen, fireplace, dining and living area. The house is completely stocked with useful things (zip lock bags, salt/pepper, spices etc) and nice cookware, stemware and serving utencils. We have a fabulous 2 night stay and were extremely comfortable. Cooked in both nights as an abundance of great food stores are available in C'ville. The countryside is stunning. We however were on motorcycles and the road to the house on top of the mountain is treacherous enough for a car, but motorcycles were a bit dangerous. Very steep and rocky road to the top. Anyway we totally enjoyed our stay and would recommend this home to everyone other than bikers.
