About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Spend anytime of the year in lovely Indian Town, Old Saybrook. Indian Town is a beautiful, private community with two beaches, a marina surrounded by two protective jetty's for walking or fishing, beach property with a swing set and gazebo and plenty of quiet, wide roads for biking, running or walking.

Our home sits on a double lot with a garage and plenty of off-street parking for guests. We have good size rooms, a large kitchen and wet bar open to a seating area that looks over the marshes, great for firework viewing. In addition to our 3 bedrooms, 2 with king beds, the living room has a fireplace and we have a beautiful, enclosed front porch that can see the gazebo and water. It is fully furnished, recently decorated and updated. The home also has central air, cable and internet, all kitchen needs, an outdoor grill and linens are provided.

Indian Town is centered in Old Saybrook where it's Main Street, just 5 minutes away, has much to offer. Among the many fine restaurants, there are unique boutiques and shops, a pub with weekend entertainment and the Katherine Hepburn Arts Center that hosts many events. It is 10 minutes from the Connecticut River and Saybrook Point Inn. Within 30 minutes, you are able to shop at the Clinton and Westbrook outlets, enjoy gambling and shows at the Foxwoods Resort and Mohegan Sun Casino's, take scenic visits to Essex and Mystic, or enjoy plays at the Goodspeed Opera House and Ivoryton Playhouse.

Old Saybrook is Connecticut's paradise and provides either simple relaxation on the beach with beautiful sunsets or endless entertainment.

About Karen

I spent summers in Indian Town since I was 12 years old in this home. They were the best summers ever and so many friends were made. Currently, many years later, I have my own family, a grandchild on the way and have rebuilt in the neighborhood, now living here year round. My family, 4 of us, lived in this home for 2 years while building a home down the street leaving our home in central Connecticut vacant. We absolutely love Indian Town and Old Saybrook. I have also relocated my business to Main Street, Old Saybrook after being in the Cheshire/Wallingford area for 28 years. My first friend in Indian Town has also relocated 2 doors down from me full time. We share Sunday evening dinners mostly every week, travel together, shop and eat, and are pretty much inseparable. I wouldn't trade it for the world and thank my parents for settling in this area during the summers.

Karen purchased this house in 1970

Why Karen chose Connecticut

This property is very comfortable, has been very kind through 2 hurricanes without a drop of water. It is a large lot, parking in the driveway and the side of the house on the lawn allows for about 8 cars, as well. There is a view to the water, the gazebo, though a bit distant, and a marsh view out the back windows. It is not even a 5 minute walk to one of the 2 beaches, a children's play area, horseshoes and a marina loaded with boats in the summer. There are activities from Memorial Day through Labor Day ie. fishing derby, 4th of July parade for the little ones, bingos, golf tournaments. Most important is, especially for the little ones, is Daisy, the ice cream lady where everything is $1.

What makes this house unique

Hardwood or tile floors and central air. The enclosed, outside shower is large and the best when coming from the beach.

Just a great home.
