Gem on the Lake!

  • 5 of 5

For many years, our family has vacationed on the Outer Banks. Everyone was apprehensive about switching vacation locations. No more! All family members loved the house, the setting, the view from the porch, the nightly fires around the fire pit, and the daily swimming from the dock. The caretakers, Steve & Jan, made our stay carefree and enjoyable. Totally relaxing experience for young and old!

Beautiful camp on Lake Placid

  • 5 of 5

We had a large group stay at Camp Owaissa for a family reunion in early August. I feel like we took advantage of every inch of the camp. We had 6 teens sleeping in the tent every night, and they loved it! We had fires (almost) every night outdoors at the fire pit. Three generations of family making s'mores and talking and singing around the campfire was fun! We also really enjoyed the porch and it's incredible view of Lake Placid. We spent the afternoon hours swimming off of the dock and boating. The kitchen was perfect for meal prep, and the fire pit and grill both made big dinners easy. The kitchen is well appointed with utensils and any bar needs. There were 2 fridges and a washer and dryer. Everything was comfortable and in great working condition. We would love to make it back to Camp Owaissa in the future. I think the kids will have great lifetime memories from their week at this wonderful property. Thanks for allowing us to share in it!

In a word - Amazing

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here two years in a row and it was like paradise. Words cannot describe how incredibly this camp is. Need a break from every day stress, this place is it. You just never want to leave and no other place on earth is quite like this property. It is so clean and has everything you could ever need.

From the second you drive down the driveway and catch a glimpse of Lake Placid in your backyard, you know you have arrived.

The porch is one of the biggest I have ever seen and the view is breath taking, you just have take pictures constantly and still feel like you haven't done it justice.

The house is massive and fully equipped with everything.

The common rooms are spectacular and jaw dropping, the bedrooms are beyond charming. Just when think you have seen everything, walk from your back porch onto the park like grounds down to the boat house and be prepared to be blown away.

I truly love this place and hope to be back again real soon.
