About Mike Conroy
I am a retired state employee who has lived in Columbia, SC since 1970. My wife has taught elementary school for 41 years. I currently sell real estate with Exit, Real Estate Solutions in Columbia, SC. We have been coming to Fripp Island since 1974 and purchased a condo in 1991. The condo was sold in 1999 so we could purchase this marsh front home. Our membership to Fripp Island resort allows our guest to purchase amenity cards so they can have access to the island pools, golf courses, tennis courts, marina, and other amenities offered throughout the island.
Mike Conroy purchased this House in 1999
Why Mike Conroy chose Fripp Island
Beaufort is located in the lowcountry of SC and has been featured in numerous films such as Forest Gump, Prince of Tides, The Water is Wide, The Great Santini, Jungle Book, and The Big Chill. Fripp Island is a private, secure resort with 3 miles of beach, 2 golf courses, bike paths, marina access, pools, and tennis center. I have family in Beaufort and plan to eventually move and retire to Fripp Island.
What makes this House unique
Fripp Island is located next to Hunting Island State Park featuring a lighthouse, beach, and fishing bridge. The town of Beaufort is near Charleston, Hilton Head, SC, and Savannah, Ga. Fripp Island is a wildlife preserve where passive viewing of the animals is a favorite pasttime. Animals that you are likely to see include aligators, deer, raccoons, otters, blue herons, brown pelicans, and many other animals.

Comfortable and well maintained house with well equiped kitchen
A wonderfully relaxing trip. Thanksgiving preparations were surprisingly easy with tools on hand in kitchen. Kayaks, golf cart, puzzles, cards & marsh views - we couldn't ask for anything more in any weather!
Great house with a beautiful view.
Clean and well maintained house. Recent Upgrades are obvious and well done. Talking/dealing with the owner was easy and he was very available for questions.
The first thing you notice is that view from ththe back porch. It's a jaw dropper.
Close to the beach and marina and an easy golf cart ride to anywhere on the island. This was our second trip to Fripp and we will go back and most likely stay here again.
Perfect beach house. Great layout of the house. Most beautiful views overlooking the marsh. It was very clean and had everything we needed.
Best Place Ever
The house is gorgeous, has everything you need, especially to cook with, very spacious, clean, and the teenage kids loved the downstairs den area. It was the "hangout" spot. My dad woke up early to sit on the large deck and feed the many deer that visited all week. The house is in the center of everything from the marina, to the beach club and the main beach access. Although we only used one kayak two times, it was an added bonus. I recommend kayaking over to Pritchards Island to find awesome shells. The highlight of my trip. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone. You will not be disappointed. Mr. Conroy was so helpful from booking to making sure everything was going well during our stay. A+
I loved the house! The kitchen was totally equipped with everything I needed and more!
The property was great! We had an issue with the prior guest garbage that was not picked up the Saturday we arrived. Nor was it picked up the following Wednesday. On that Wednesday I saw the garbage man actually pick up the garbage can so I looked away thinking he was dumping it into the truck. But he set the can back down without emptying it and drive off. After several attempts from
Mike to get it picked up. We had to pick up garbage twice from the yard as animals were getting into it at night. Then I find someone digging through the garbage and I asked what they were doing and the gentleman said he was the maid's son and was trying to get some of the garbage so he could take it away. We had made fresh seafood dishes so the shrimp shells and chicken fat in the garbage stunk pretty badly. We also had no room for our garbage and I was cooking meals. I must add this was the only negative experience I had.
The trash people missed the pickup of trash on Sat with the previous renters. I immediately called them Monday and they said they would do a work order to pick it up. The regular pick up was Wed and they had not picked it up per work order and missed it again on Wed. I called again Wed and Thur and they said they planned on picking it up on Sat, the regular pick up day. I then called my nephew who was vacationing in Beaufort from NY. He went over and got the trash and hauled it away.
I am sorry they had a bad experience with the trash pick-up but some things like trash service is out of my hands.
Awesome!! Wouldn't trade it for the world!
We loved this property. The view was awesome to wake up to and the sunsets were gorgeous. Loved all the wildlife and the property had plenty of room for our big group. We would most definitely stay here again.
