About Michele King
I currently live in a small town just outside of Gettysburg called Littlestown. I grew up there and returned to my home town 5 yrs ago. Aside from making Gettysburg Getaway a wonderful place for guests to enjoy, I also work a full time job in the mental health field.
Michele King purchased this House in 2012
Why Michele King chose Gettysburg
I purchased this property because of its wonderful location. For exploring Gettysburg its perfect!
What makes this House unique
Location, Location, Location!! Aside from the wonderful location its clear to see that the house is clean and comfortable. Please take time to read the wonderful reviews written by our guests. Aside from the location and cleanliness I have tried hard to keep our rates family friendly and at the lowest amount possible. In fact until this year I had not raised my rates since opening this guesthouse 2 1/2 years ago.

Favorite place to stay for our favorite weekend!
Our group of friends have been coming to Gettysburg for several years now and the past 5 we have stayed here. Never disappointed, location is fantastic, house is always spotless and Michele is a gracious and responsive host.
The house was very clean. Being a clean freak, and frequent VRBO renter, I was pleased to see this so clean! The garage was an awesome addition since it rained during our entire stay. The bedrooms were fine and roomy for our group of five. The REMODELED baths were a great addition. Any snags or questions were QUICKLEY addressed, if possible, by Michele.
One suggestion I would make is the addition of some type of floor lamp in 2 bedrooms. There are ceiling lights and but it is hard to read in bed with a ceiling lamp as it disturbs others. Perhaps a pharmacy foor lamp could be scrunched in a corner.
The house was very nice. If you are looking for a location walking to restaurants in the historic area and like the character of a well- kept older home, this is for you.
Lovely home; perfect location; owner is very responsive.
We go on an annual siblings and spouses trip and this house was in a perfect location. You really could walk to most places since many were within a mile. The house is lovely. It’s older but has a lot of character and is nicely decorated with civil war items. It was roomy enough for 8 people and is REALLY clean. Michele was very responsive to any questions and issues. So if you’re looking for a get away that’s historic with lots to do and great restaurants, I recommend Gettysburg and staying here.
Great place to stay for your Gettysburg Getaway!
We had a blast! This is a great house in a perfect location. Right in the heart of Gettysburg, within walking distance of many major attractions and a short drive to everything else. The house is perfect with a historical feel and decor, but well updated with all the creature comforts you would hope for. Highly recommended!
Really nice house full of character
Well located for exploring Gettysburg by car or foot
Clean and comfy
Spotlessly clean and comfortable retreat. We’ll be back again and again. My family felt at home as soon as they opened the front door.
Thank you Michelle
The only reason I didn’t rate a “five”was there was no tissue or toilet paper and everyone needed to use the bathrooms after our travels. We did not pack our own. One role would have sufficed til we could settle in and restock ourselves.
The house is located directly off of Baltimore St. It is within walking distance of restaurants/bars, shopping, museums, the National Cemetery and the Battlefield.
It is approximately a block from Steinweir Ave. The house is located one block from one of the best restaurants in town called The Farnsworth House. The horse drawn carriages line up in front of the restaurant waiting to take you on a beautiful romantic tour of our wonderful town. We are also located approximately four blocks from the center of town and the infamous Dobbin House where the actual Underground Railroad is located. A definite must see for Civil War enthusiasts.
