|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
In Japanese the word 'Sugoi' means 'perfect' and there is no better way to describe the experience you will have when you visit Sugoi Lakes Lodge & Resort.
Just over an hour's drive from the Dallas-Fort Worth airport, the Resort sits on 58 very private acres.
The main lodge sits comfortably nestled in a lush grove of trees, overlooking the two lakes. The cantilevered construction of the mid-lake pagoda provides its visitors with an unobstructed view. The pagoda is a perfect destination for a late-night stroll, or for one seeking a moment of daytime solitude.
A small fleet of four one man bass boats stands ready for action. Whether for an hour or a day, the stable craft will comfortably accommodate one fisherman per boat.
From the moment you enter the doors of the great room you will be encompassed with a feeling of welcome and relaxation.
Whether you come for a corporate retreat, a wedding, a girls or guys getaway, a training seminar, a family reunion or just a long weekend with the family you will find all of your needs met here.
The great room has abundant seating so that your group can join together to catch up on the day's activities or just relax together in front of the wide screen entertainment center.
The fully appointed kitchen will be ready for that gourmet chef in your group or just comfortable enough to pass out pizza after a long day of fishing on the lakes. It is complete with a restaurant sized refrigerator, a microwave, dishwasher, cookware, dishes and utensils for the group.
Guests enjoy the spacious log cabin layout, which features four bedrooms on the first floor and two bedrooms on the second floor. Each bedroom offers two queen beds, cable television, individual programmable climate control and its own private shower and restroom. First floor bedrooms have private entrances to the walkabout porch and inside access to the great room.
There is a small sitting room upstairs for the more intimate meetings, reading, quiet relaxation away from the group or watching television.
The Lodge is equipped with free WIFI for those last minute emails before heading out for the day.
Both the great room and the walkabout porch offer a full view of the Resort's two lakes and all the fishing fun, whether from boat or bank.
Relax and have your coffee on the porch and watch the sun come up and the fish jump out of the water for their morning feeding, or take your glass of wine and stroll down to the beautiful pagoda and watch the glorious sunsets that only reside in Texas.
If you plan your wedding here, imagine your wedding pictures featuring the bride and groom standing in front of the pagoda.
Whatever reason you have for visiting Sugoi Lakes Lodge & Resort will only be enhanced by your luxurious and comforting surroundings. There is a minimum 2 night stay required, however 1 day special events like weddings, corporate retreats, etc are available upon request.
All fishermen are required by state law to have a valid Texas fishing license in possession while fishing on the property. For license by mail call the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department at 1-800-792-1112.

My name is Gary Yamamoto and my wife Beverly and I have developed this property personally to serve as a comfortable and inviting place for our guests to be able to find quality bass fishing on our private lakes and relax in comfort in the lodge.
The construction of the lodge was very hands on for us, overseeing the construction of the resort and its trophy fishery, seeing to every detail.
The comfort of our guests is our priority and we do everything possible to make sure their visit is the best it can be in every way.
This is the perfect location for the wedding of your dreams. It is private, there are rooms to accommodate out of town guests, and the gourmet kitchen is appropriate for any catering service.
Plan your family reunion and watch the magic as your extended family cooks, eats, and plays together in this roomy and luxurious setting.
Set up your corporate team building retreat and watch the bonds grow as everyone relaxes between trainings in this serene and peaceful setting.
You will find that each pond was carefully constructed to provide the maximum in big fish habitat. Regardless of the season, prime structure and planted cover play host to the active Florida-strain largemouth bass. Ten-pounders are not uncommon, and if the wise angler gears up accordingly they won't be disappointed.
Thank you for a great time at Sugoi Lodge. The service was great and all of our needs were met. We plan on staying there again next year.
This place worked great for a guys golf weekend. We had roughly 20 guys. Everyone had a bed to sleep in and the living room and kitchen were large enough for use to all gather in. It was rainy and cold all weekend so we did not get to explore too much of the grounds. However, we really enjoyed having this place and Jim was very helpful and nice to us. Thank you.
We chose the Sugoi Lodge for our annual family reunion because it would hold our large (ultimately nearly 20 people) over Thanksgiving. The lovely lodge was perfect in nearly all respects and the scenery left you breathless. The kitchen had two large ovens, large refrigerator, and equally large freezer. There were enough tables for a much larger group than ours and beds that let you sleep like babies. Although the wood stove was for decoration only, there was a firepit outside overlooking the lakes where one could catch up on all the family news for the past year. The fish weren't biting (maybe because it was late November?), but some folks had fun trying and others took one of the boats out on the lake. Most of us took walks/hikes around the big lake near the lodge. The manager Jim was always available, helpful, and very pleasant to deal with. We moved the outside grill to a slightly different place where there was better light after sunset. It was great that we were out in the country, but not at all far from town. I might suggest that a memo be placed on the kitchen counter with answers to the questions which visitors throughout the year ask. We LOVED this lodge!
My husband and I took our 4 adult children and some of the grandchildren for a weekend. Perfect place for fishing (catch & release). Horses in the pasture adjoining the property loved being hand fed the sliced carrots I brought. The house is actually 6.5 baths not 7.5. The cons first. We had bad cell phone reception, a hairdryer was only in 1 bedroom, no shampoo/conditioner, broken/uneven stepping stones outside back door, plenty of knives in kitchen, but all are "very" dull, boats had water in them that we had to empty, two trolling motors were missing, but were promised on Saturday (never arrived), property was only partially mowed (said a mower broke down). The pros. There is a fire pit (bring your own wood), one outdoor chair in each bedroom, combination safe in each bedroom, coffee/condiments in each bedroom as well as in dining room area, many condiments for kitchen provided, i.e. sugar, salt/pepper, ketchup, mustard, paper towels, 3 full size washers/dryers, very close to Wal-Mart/town. Other things. The gazebo has a round table in it, so it can't be used for a wedding, but a great place for fishing. The grill is for charcoal. Caretaker Jim comes twice a day to remove trash and provide any information/requests. He knocks and comes right on in without waiting for the door to the answered. There is a combination lock, so locking the door wouldn't prevent his entry. One morning he saw my son-in-law (an earlycriser) fishing & spoke to him. Son-in-law told him everyone was still sleeping. He came in anyway and I ran into him almost literally as I was coming out of my bedroom. He didn't knock that time. There is a tip jar for the housekeeper, but we were asked to do whatever we could to help her out before we left. I washed all the towels and folded what wasn't in the dryers before we left. However, there is no additional fee for cleaning. There is tax charged on the house which is not indicated in the VRBO website. Would I stay there again--YES, but with an understanding about entry with Jim.
This is a beautiful place. Well designed to accommodate large families for our yearly gathering. One of the best places we have stayed at.
Jim the manager was always helpful and there within minutes if we needed him.
A pool is the only thing that would make it greater then it is.
Our parents celebrated their 60th anniversary with their entire family here----all 21 us. This included their 5 children/spouses, who literally live coast-to-coast, and all of the grandchildren. Our family has not been able to get all of us together for over 10 years. This was certainly a perfect location and it held every last one of us!
The lodge accommodated all of us very comfortably! Everyone had their own space, but the nice open living room/kitchen/eating area allowed plenty of room for all of us to be together at once.
We did all of our own cooking and the kitchen was wonderful. It is designed to accommodate cooking for a crowd if that is your wish. Being there in June, we also appreciated the big, stand-alone icemaker!
All of the bedrooms were large and each had its own private bathroom. The beds were quite comfy.
With so many of us, we really appreciated the well-equipped laundry room.
We had no problems accessing the internet.
The setting is lovely. The little lake was so pretty---took many pictures of it. The house is set back in a quiet, private area, but is just a few minutes to town. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch and taking advantage of the evening breeze.
The caretakers looked in on us each day and made sure that we had everything we needed. They were cordial and very accommodating.
Yes, we would go back!! Maybe for our parents' 70th anniversary!! :)
What a comfortable stay we had! The lodge was clean, in great condition and very roomy, even for our large group. Jim was an excellent caretaker who was attentive to our every need. We took advantage of the wrap around porch, had space for volleyball in the yard, some of us even enjoyed the chance to take out the boats and fish. There was plenty of room in the kitchen for preparing large meals. I can't say enough about it! Get ready Jim, we'll be back!!
