Property includes 4 bedrooms with 3 having private bathrooms, king and 2 queen suites along with 2 twin beds. A true value experience.

Also included in your stay is a daily pass to beautiful Cavendish Beach as well as access to the outdoor pool at The Gables (located less than a 10 minute drive away)

This property is located in the center of Prince Edward Island and you can use this location to travel all of PEI. We fell in love with the views of rolling landscapes and accessibility to the main highway along with the out door activities that are within close proximity to restaurants, country concerts, golfing, beaches, boating, evening kaylees featuring many of PEI's finest musicians. Great location being 30 minutes from Charlottetown Airport and 30 minutes from the Confederation Bridge.

What makes this house unique

One of the most unique features are the views over Noth Granville from the front veranda which is on the east and south side of the home.We are an ideal location to travel anywhere on PEI.

Simply Wonderful in Every Way - Rattenbury Hillside Escape

We have just returned from a week-long stay at Rattenbury Hillside Escape near Breadalbane, PEI. Planning for this vacay began a year ago, to attend a large Mahar family reunion in Charlottetown in early August 2018. We needed a property that could accommodate our family (6 adults, two kids & a toddler). Thankfully, we discovered Rattenbury Hillside Escape on VRBO. Its amenities, location and size were a perfect match for our needs and we connected with Brenda to book it. Over the course of the several months from the booking to the scheduled stay, we posed several questions to Brenda about the property & features. She is a delight to deal with. Very responsive, very clear and accommodating. The photos on the VRBO website portray an exceptionally attractive property. As impressive as they are, they cannot match the beauty and grandeur of this outstanding property & home. We had the good fortune to meet Brenda & Ron at Rattenbury as we were arriving. They both generously gave of their time to tell us about the nearby attractions, and the many fitness, hiking and recreational venues in the Kensington, Cavendish, Summerside area. Pride in ownership was very evident, and very richly deserved. But the house...the house! It is stunning! The groundskeepers & housekeeping team had the place beaming & inviting. Beautifully appointed with welcoming decor. 3200 sq. feet of living space, and we used & enjoyed every inch of it. Our grandkids loved sleeping in the wood-panelled loft with the twin beds & big-screen TV. I enjoyed reading in the 2nd floor study overlooking the living room. Lots of natural light from the large windows. We enjoyed morning coffee on the wraparound porch every day, looking out on the rich green hills and seeing the horses & the cattle grazing in the pastures. We returned to the porch every evening for a cool beverage, to recount our day at Cavendish Beach (10 min), Blue Mussel Cafe in North Rustico (25 min), New Glasgow Lobster Supper (15 min), Confederation Centre of the Arts, Ch'twn (35 min); Devil's Punchbowl Trail (5 min). We played frisbee & football on the front lawn, Scrabble & Checkers on the front porch, celebrated a 9th birthday in the dining room. It felt like our home for seven days. Couldn't have been better. Highest recommendation. Book it! You won't be sorry. Just leave us a week for summer 2019. We're coming back. Thank you Brenda & Ron. Simply the best!

We had a wonderful stay here. The house is very large and comfortable, and easy driving to cavendish. We would definitely return!

Hammonds Plains

Beautiful home close to Cavendish

This house is as beautiful as the photos indicate. We were two families (9 people; 4 adults and 5 teens) staying and were extremely comfortable. Three bedrooms with en suite bathrooms as well as two twin beds in the family room; all beds were very comfortable. The adults were able to watch TV in the living room while the kids had the TV in the family room. Lots of room for us to spread out. Well-equipped eat-in kitchen as well as a dining room with a table for 6. Great location for access to Cavendish (10 min), PEI National Park, beaches, etc. The owners were available by e-mail when we had questions. All in all, an excellent choice!

Excellent home in good location

We travelled as a family of 7 adults and 1 baby. The layout of this home was perfect for us. All 3 bedrooms were large and 2 had their own ensuites. The loft over the garage had twin beds, couches and a TV so would be great for kids. There was a 3rd full bathroom on the main floor. Kitchen was well stocked with all cooking utensils and had salt and pepper and a BBQ on the deck. Brenda and Ron were great resources and very helpful.

Just make sure to bring things like shampoo, soap, basic food prep items like spices, sugar, oils.....

Location was good. Not right in town so that there is constant hustle and bustle but close enough to easily participate in all activities. Summerside was an easy 20 minute drive for all major grocery stores. Stanley Bridge was only 8 minutes away with a great show - Ross Family Ceilidh and good food - Carr's Oyster house for Lobster Rolls. Cavendish was about 12 minutes away so excellent for the beach and children's activities. North Rustico was 15-20 minutes away and had a fantastic bike path through the national park, great food at the Blue Mussel Cafe and also at the Pearl Eatery. Also had a smaller liquor store. Even Charlottetown was easily accessible in 30-40 minutes.

One big bonus with this house was the pass for the National Park and also the pass for the pool at the Gables. We swam almost everyday just before dinner to cool off for the night.

Only downside to this property was no air conditioning (we were there in an exceptionally hot week) but that was manageable by having all the windows open over night. The other downside was only having 1 house key. For a group our size, it made coming and going awkward and we often found ourselves waiting on the porch (which had amazing views!).

To sum up, I would definitely go back to PEI and would not hesitate to rent this property again.
