About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, Sleeps 4

With a private hot tub and phenomenal views within walking distance of the beach, this cozy Waldport vacation rental offers a perfect coastal getaway for two couples or a small family looking to chase waves and eat seafood.

This home is within walking distance of the Bayshore Beach Club, where you'll find a seasonal summer pool (a small daily fee will apply).

Classically beachy on the outside and sleek and contemporary on the inside, this home offers many fun amenities including WiFi, premium cable (HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax), Netflix streaming, a DVD player, a CD player, and board games to enjoy in the comfort of the open-floor living area.

Gather around the TV on the soft leather sofa or play cards and chat on the white wicker furniture. When the weather turns cold, put a log on the wood fire and get toasty.

Cook a full meal in the homey, classic kitchen, which offers both modern appliances and a contemporary finish. Or head out to the deck to grill on the patio while others play with the dogs in the back yard (dogs are invited for an additional nightly fee). Soak in the hot tub and watch the sun set from the upper level deck with a surfboard bench.

Up to four guests will sleep well in two bedrooms with queen beds, and share a bathroom. There's a washer/dryer for convenience.

Spend the whole day on the beach, at the pool or tennis courts, or wandering through the cute town (or nearby ones like Newport and Yachats). Then come home to this Central Oregon Coast beach cottage and dream of the day to come.

*The owner has a permit for guests who want to bring a boat that is no longer than 20'.

About Vacasa of Oregon Coast

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Dated, musty, needs TLC.

 • 3 of 5

Had wonderful expectations about this Vacasa property. Unfortunately upon entering the home, a musty smell lingered. Had to open all windows and doors to air out the home.

While attempting to slide back screens to balcony, both door screens fell off of the tracking and I had to reset both screen doors.

This was my first five minutes.

On the second evening, wanted a soak in the hot tub. As I slid back and into the northeast positioned corner and rested my head back, the padded head rest floated away from what should have been its fixed attachment, and floated freely about the hot tub. Reattaching it proved fruitless.

The opposite corner headrest did the exact same thing! And the water intake tub, just disassembled and floated about too. Not relaxing whatsoever.

The bathroom sinktop had a very visable dirty area, not cleaned that I photographed just out of disbelief.

We were only given (3) bath towels for (3) guests for a (3) day stay. With no laundry detergent to be found, we had to make due with what was provided.

This could be a cozy home with some TLC given. The bed spreads are old, the furniture uncomfortable. A couch would be a fantastic touch. I also didn’t find the 5-min. to beach walk mentioned in the home guide to be realistic. I do have short legs, and tend to move a little slower.

At a price tag of nearly $1,000 for a (3) day stay, with cancellation insurance purchased, I frankly expected more.

Most likeiy will take a pass on staying in a Vacasa home when back in Oregon in September.

I wish everyone well and to see thru the updating and repairs that need to be addressed.

Owner's Response: We apologize for the housekeeping oversights and maintenance issues this guest encountered. We have followed-up with housekeeping, attached the hot tub head rests, and maintained the screens. Thank you!

Great place for peace and quiet

 • 4 of 5

The cottage was a perfect size for the four of us and a our dog.
It was very clean and well appointed with lots of kitchen things and comfy beds. Two bedrooms were great for us and my daughters....one queen and one full. The bathroom was a bit outdated and could use an upgrade of the shower stall. It is very small and the shower head was sometimes a spray, and sometimes like a garden hose! LOL.
The fenced yard was good, but there were a lot of dried-thorny-burr things in the grass that stuck in your shoes and the dog's paws.. some watering of the lawn would make it more available for play. The upper deck was a favorite hanging spot for my teens and their selfie addiction. The beach was a close walk, but a little farther than I anticipated with a dog pulling me along the path! We played tennis but passed on the pool option since the weather was 30 degrees cooler than when we left WA. A great break form the heat wave. 98 degrees in McMinnville and 65 by the time we hit Waldport! Deceivingly warm for 65 though, we never needed a jacket. The Hot Tub bubbled away but we never partook of it. It was definitely hot.
We were able to shop in Waldport at Ray's - great fried chicken - and we grilled a couple nights too! We appreciated the puzzle left for us...it was HARD and we worked on it for 3 days to complete it! I would consider this a great place for a girl's retreat or for relaxing with adult friends. My teens thought there was a lack of things to do, but thank goodness the wifi was strong and the cable tv was great. Since the dog was not having any part of being left alone, we did not get out as much as we anticipated. We did think there would be more activities near the site, but things have changed a bit since either my husband or I had been to the Oregon coastal area 15 years ago!

Great Place

 • 5 of 5

Very well equipped, neat décor in living area and two great decks, one on top of the carport with a view of the ocean. Easy five minute walk to the beach. Would love to return some day!

felt like home only cleaner!

 • 5 of 5

I loved the wood floor, blue and yellow walls, comfy beds, large fenced yard, high porch with a view of the ocean, hot tub that even an older lady could manage the top alone, Community pool available. Lots of friendly people in this area.

Perfect Central Coast Home

 • 5 of 5

The Surf Cottage was perfect! The home itself was stocked nicely and clean. The backyard was perfect for our four legged friend and the neighborhood was quiet with a quick walk to beach access. The location of the home was great as we were able to explore Newport, Waldport and Yachats during our stay. Would definitely stay there again when we're in the area!
