Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this homeour team is standing by!
Vacasa failed to send a confirmation email to the resort, and the resort would not check us in without the confirmation. Vacasa is nearly impossible to reach by phone. After 12-20 minutes someone answered (don't bother leaving a message), and promised to send the confirmation email, but it lacked the necessary information. Another 15 minutes of dialing finally got us another Vacasa agent who send the needed information. Bottom line - it took well over half an hour to get checked in. I won't deal with Vacasa again.
Property and surrounding area were great! The walls are a little thin, so it was definitely a little noisy, especially at night . . . but overall it was a great stay!
The Good: Squaw is a world class ski resort. There is a nice variety of excellent dining options within 15 minute drive in nearby Truckee & Tahoe City. Pool, hot tubs, & slopeside lift access at Squaw Creek make this a worthwhile stay.
The Bad: we booked a resort-managed Squaw Creek unit nearly identical to this one last year, which did not suffer from two of the comfort & convenience issues we had with Vacasa's Room #347. Issue One: Beds: the foam "mattress toppers" on these beds did not breathe. This made for very clammy, sweaty sleeping. One of my four family members did not mind the ultra-soft sleeping surface, but the rest of us woke up repeatedly from excessive sweating, and after 3 nights, we all had neck & back pain. Issue Two: using Vacasa left us with no simple & effective option for late checkout. During previous stay in resort-managed unit, we simply called down to the front desk & arranged a late checkout w/ Squaw Creek. This year, resort reception could not help us w/ a Vacasa unit. Vacasa had promised an email w/ late checkout options that never arrived, reviewing their website & "digital guest book" provided no further details. We gave up, checked our bags & went skiing.
Our personal conclusion from this stay? We will return to Squaw Creek next year, but will only stay in a unit w/ no foam mattresses toppers, and with a functional, easy & transparent late-checkout process.
This is a ski property: an 11am checkout time is completely incompatible with a weekend ski trip that ends *after* the lifts close in the afternoon.
Excellent property, check in was very convenient, restaurants were great, plenty of activities to do, overall great experience!
Great weekend with our family-rented 4 units - perfect! Pools were warm - kids loved the slide and the adults loved the hot tubs! One adult spa was closed! The hike to the high camp was marvelous and we took the tram back down! Great area for biking also.
