'Quiet Cove', our magical waterfront cottage, is a very special place.Facing southwest on Young's Bay in Hancock, Maine, you will enjoy all day sun with magnificent sunsets and moon rises.There is a waterview from every room and no other homes in sight. Located at the end of a 1/2 mile private drive on a scenic 5 acre point, the cottage sits just feet from the water's edge. It is just a short drive to Acadia National Park, the Schoodic Peninsula, Bar Harbor and all points Downeast.
Artists, writers, nature lovers and honeymooners will find the peaceful solitude well suited for a relaxing retreat. Tidal waters offer an ever changing coastline with a gravel beach, granite outcroppings, clam flats, mussel beds and an abundance of waterbirds and seals. The area is ideal for kayaking, biking, hiking or just watching the constant color changes on the water as the day passes. Enjoy watching the lobster fishermen tend their traps and catch your dinner. This is a special place!
The village of Hancock offers a quaint summer library, charming non-denominational chapel,tennis, biking, beaches and excellent restaurants such as the Crocker House .
'Quiet Cove' is a warm 3 bedrooom cottage surrounded by natural sights and sounds that sits so close to the water you'll feel like you are outside when you are inside.
The first floor offers an open floor plan with an airy catherdal ceiling. The wood interior creates a warm glow that invites you to slow down and relax in the greatroom. There is a dining area with seating for 8. The galley kitchen with granite counters faces west so you can prepare lobster and enjoy the sunset. The master bedroom is an en suite with a queen size bed, it's own full bathroom and a walk-in shower.Lie on the bed and watch and listen to the tide change. There is also a second full bathroom off the greatroom for guests as well as a washer/dryer.
The second floor has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other has a set of twin beds.There is a second bathroom with a deep tub and shower off the family room on the first level.
The screened porch and open deck with a gas grill are off the great room at the waters edge. Watch the lobster boats and the seal rookery while you enjoy your morning coffee. The picnic table is nestled in a wooded area facing a small cove. Flower gardens and a lawn area are on the east side of the cottage where you will also find an open porch.
'Quiet Cove' is the perfect vacation destination that allows you to explore the rugged coast of Maine but then retreat to complete solitude.
