Waterfront Cottage -- Romantic Puget Sound Getaway

Bedrooms 1
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

Cottage, 1 Bedroom, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2)

Imagine yourself leaving the stress behind as you drive along Puget Sound to Serendipity Cottage. No waiting for the ferry, no putting chains on your car, no driving long distances to find seclusion. Imagine relaxation taking hold as you descend the staircase to your romantic garden cottage by the sea, and the delight to your senses as you enter -- into the aroma of fresh-baked treats in honor of your arrival and a magnificent vista across the Sound and on to the snow-capped Olympic Mountains. Perhaps a heron or a soaring bald eagle will celebrate your arrival!

This romantic haven can be your cozy hideaway for the week or longer! While close to Seattle and its popular tourist destinations, close also to wilderness adventure and winter sports in the nearby Cascade Mountains, and a short drive to the Boeing factory and museums, Serendipity Cottage is secluded and private. There is a private wooden deck off the bedroom and, in the middle of the garden, a circular viewing deck. Gorgeous sunset views are available from many vantage points.

This one-bedroom, 2 bath, smoke-free cottage, perfect for two, is fully furnished, Enjoy panoramic views from south and west-facing picture windows. Television, DVD, and wireless internet are all provided, if you can bring yourself inside or tear yourself away from the windows.

And the views are truly spectacular. This is a favorite spot for birdwatchers in all seasons. Beachcombers love wading in sun-warmed waters during low tides. A 3.5-mile woodland trail begins or ends on the beach just a few steps outside the door. Quaint, downtown Edmonds is less than 5 miles away, with shopping, festivals, live performances, a movie theater, and a world-class underwater scuba park. Kingston is just a short 20-minute ferry ride away, where you can enjoy crepes for breakfast and take in the farmers' market on weekends before taking the next ferry home.

Delightful in every way

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay at Serendipity and we are ready to book another week. The view of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains is amazing and just watching the activity on the water is better than any TV. The fact that the cottage is an unobstructed stone's throw from the shore makes it even better. An easy walk to a woodland park further adds to the property.

John & Laurie are outstanding hosts who strive to make guests' stays rewarding and enjoyable. It must be noted that on check in guests are treated to a heavenly home baked fruit pie.

Guests should be aware that there is a long stairway to the cottage from the parking spot that may make the property difficult for those with mobility issues. However, those stairs put one closer to the water while simultaneously isolating the cottage from the few noises heard in the neighborhood. The descent brings guests into a tranquil little world where it is easy to let go of the stresses of life. Thank you John & Laurie for offering such an amazing property.

Serendipity was wonderful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We spent seven days and nights at Serendipity Cottage. It was equipped with everything we needed to make ourselves at home. Our hosts were gracious and generous. It was in a great location to take day trips or stay in and enjoy the view. We look forward to another opportunity to stay at the cottage.

Thank you John and Laurie

This was our second stay at the cottage and we enjoyed it even more than the first stay. The fresh baked pie at arrival was second to none, which is always a great start. The view is awesome, which is not only of Puget Sound, but of whatever wildlife or birds that may in the area. It is a great place to go and relax, relieve stress and appreciate the greater things in life. Edmonds is a great community to shop and eat. The ferry to Kingston leaves from downtown and you can even catch a train to Vancouver, B.C. if you want some adventure. There are many wild blackberry bushes to harvest in August & September, plus John & Laura grow all kinds of berries, plums, apples, and even some rhubarb. John & Laura are great hosts, always willing to provide information, and their "talking stool" idea is very helpful. We look forward to our next visit. The 38 or 39 steps down to the cottage can be a challenge, but it is still well worth it.

Wow! our vacation in Edmonds , wa. was amazing! The Serendipity Cottage exceeded all of my expectations. The Cottage was clean, quiet & comfortable. The Host were wonderful - not intrusive yet there for anything we needed. Love the " talking stool". We could leave note with question or need & John responded promptly and completely. The Views of the sound and the garden are breathtaking and relaxing. We enjoyed walking along the beach and hiking in the park just down the street. Edmonds is a beautiful little city with nice shops and places to eat, and only 20 min from Seattle. Location was perfect for our trip.I have family in Evertt and Monroe. We often stayed in hotels on previous trip to Wa. None can compare to staying at the cottage. I have found my new favorite place in Washington and we cant wait to return. Thank You John and Lauie for sharing your place & the scrumptious pie with us!
