5 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 10
From the rooftop crow’s nest of Seaside Escape, our 3-story house on St. Augustine Beach, you can see a strip of bright blue ocean. Come stay in this luxurious house just 2 blocks from the beach and enjoy balcony vistas, a fenced yard, HDTVs, and more!
There’s plenty of room for the whole group here, with 5 bedrooms spread over all 3 floors of the house. The master bedroom offers a small private balcony while soaring ceilings in the great room add to the spacious feel of Seaside Escape. You’re going to love it!
Begin your exploration on the second floor, which is the main living and dining area of the house, in addition to the location of 2 of the bedrooms. The great room is a fabulous area, with polished hardwood floors, a spiral staircase leading to the third-floor bedroom and crow’s nest, sliding-glass door access to the balcony, a huge sectional couch just made for flopping, and a big HDTV. This may become your favorite room at Seaside Escape, and the main “hang out” area for your group in between adventures.
The living room segues into the dining area, a magnificently sunny room with a majestic table for 10 between long, bright windows. This table is the command center of the house, and usually sports at least one laptop (you have free wireless Internet here) as well as paper and markers for the kids, brochures about St. Augustine’s famous attractions, Peterson’s Guides to Florida birds, and more! Shove everything aside when it’s time to play a lively round of Uno, or set it up as a buffet table and carry your plates out to the balcony to dine in the balmy, salt-tinged breeze.
Of course, it’s also possible to dine at the dining table, and our state-of-the-art kitchen makes it difficult to resist a few home-cooked meals – even on vacation! The wooden cabinets and gleaming appliances stand ready to help you prepare and serve just about anything – we’ve stocked them with cookware, dishes, utensils, glasses, and small appliances to save you time and make your culinary adventures more fun. Cook up those freshly caught fish, blend a pitcher of margaritas in seconds, or make a big pot of coffee to get everyone moving in the morning. And if Sunday means pancakes for breakfast, you’ll find the spatula, whisk, bowls, and griddle here – just add groceries!
When it’s time to retire for the night, everyone will look forward to a cozy bed in a quiet, restful room at Seaside Escape. The master bedroom is on the second floor and is a sanctuary of comfort after a busy day in historic downtown St. Augustine or on the sugary-white sands of the beach. It offers a king-sized bed and sliding-glass door access to a private balcony that looks out over live oaks and leafy beauty. There are his-and-her nightstands and reading lamps in here, soft carpeting, and an atmosphere of calm that you will really appreciate after spending all day with a big group.
The second bedroom is also on this floor, sharing the full bath with the master. This room contains a queen-sized bed beside a big, bright window. Comfy and soothing, it’s a great place for a well-earned nap or long night’s sleep.
The first floor contains 2 more bedrooms and the second full bathroom. One of these bedrooms offers a queen-sized bed with an HDTV and access to the fenced backyard of Seaside Escape. This is a great space for the early riser who likes to walk along the beach while the last rays of the sunrise fill the sky (and everyone else gratefully sleeps late!). The second bedroom on this floor contains 2 twin-sized beds.
Accessed by a spiral stair case, the third floor is the most fun for the kids in the group, with yet another bedroom, this one also containing 2 twin-sized beds below sloping eaves and a round window.
Seaside Escape is the perfect family or group vacation house. From the washer and dryer to the full complement of linens and towels to the outdoor shower and off-street parking, everything here is designed for comfort and convenience. Treat yourself!

Great Place to Stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. It is very spacious and well kept. We hope to be back.
Great location, good space, could be better appointed and terrible customer service
We spent a week with 8 adults and one toddler at this house. The space was more than adequate and the location to the beach is great. It is a pleasant 5 minute walk to the amazingly endless beach with white sand.
As far as furniture goes, the interior is well appointed. The kitchen does lack some basics and pretty much every plate and bowl was chipped or cracked.
The kitchen didn't even have any salt/pepper or sugar so be sure to stock up before or go shopping at the publix down the road.
This house would not be great for very young infants who are not good with stairs yet. They are steep and there are no baby gates available.
The outside of the house looks a little neglected and could do with some sprucing up, especially they back. We had to grill in the front of the house in the full August sun.
There were some things in the house that needed attention and that we made the rental company aware of through their app but never heard from and were never fixed.
Here are a few:
- the toilet roll holder in the upstairs bathroom was lying on the floor when we arrived, ripped from the wall. That is also where it stayed all week since no one came to fix it.
- The water from the fridge dispenser does not work
- we had to fix the downstairs sliding door because it did not lock
- a door on a cabinet was not attached
- the sliding door in the living room does not close all the way
- the drain (not sure if it is septic or not) was not able to cope and was overflowing at the front of the house. The smell was not great towards the end of the week.
Overall it was a good experience but the lack of action on the rental companies's side was disappointing.
We enjoyed our stay! We had plenty of room for our family. I was very impressed with how clean this house was! I didn't feel the need to come in and clean before our children and grands arrived. Everything you would need was provided was any set backs it was getting out of the drive. But it is to be expected since it's located on A1A. The area is great, walking to the beach everyday we met the nicest people. We would definitely rent here again!
The house was very nicely appointed and seemed to have everything we needed.
The house was everything we had hoped it would be. With a few exceptions. It did not tell us that it was located on a major street. Nor that there were stairs that had to be used to get to the main part of the house and they were quite steep. Also it had only 2 bathrooms each of which had 2 doors but that did not solve the problem of 9 people sharing a 5 bedroom house. We were sure the add stated 4 bathrooms. The house itself was gorgeous inside and right near the beach and shopping. It was well laid out for sharing. An extra TV or two would have made it perfect. And notice for the stairs as I am 68 with a knee replacement and stairs are my nemesis. The young adults had no problem with them It is a good home to rent for several families or family members to share.
I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the house in general. All of the dishes and utensils were filthy. One dish pulled from the cabinet was covered in grease and food. Everything had to be cleaned before use. The master bedroom sheets have a huge blue stain on them. I was shocked to discover there was no mattress protector on the mattress. The pillows were horrible. The bbq at the house was equally disgusting, and entirely covered in rust. We had to purchase a new bbq just to cook a meal. Lucky for whoever comes after us because they get to use it. My husband found an empty bottle of vodka and a woman's razor on the downstairs patio. There is a used needle on the front lawn. Obviously, no one bothers cleaning this house. Then to top it off, we received an email asking if were going to check out early, but it was sent on the wrong day. When I emailed asking why we received an early check out notice, all I received in return was an email with our departure date highlighted. First of all, what terrible customer service! Secondly, I almost laughed out loud when I saw the reason they sent the email was so they could have extra time to get in and clean if you leave early. What a joke!! Nothing is clean in this place. Do not waste your money here. And by the way to the owner, the toilet paper holder is not on the wall properly in the downstairs bathroom. One touch and it crashes to the floor.
Me and my family spent the last 4 days at this property and it's been fantastic. The house is exactly how it appears in the pictures. It was about a 5 minute walk to Butler Beach, which is a fantastic beach. There was no seaweed and the sand was soft and white. The beds are super comfortable and so was the big couch in the living room. There were only a few things I didn't like about the property: there is very limited driveway space and you have to drive over grass to get to the actual driveway pad. The second is that the A1A is actually a pretty busy road. It was hard to cross the street to go to Redfrog and McToads (a great restaurant by the way) because there was so much traffic. Finally, the house was not stocked with very much. You get silverware, plates, bowls and a few pots and pans. We had to go buy simple things like a wine bottle opener and toilet paper. Other than that we really enjoyed the property.
