Just as special, Island House features a large sparkling swimming pool and tennis courts on site, racquet ball courts, shuffleboard, ping pong, public grill access, nearby world-class golf, and ample parking (one reserved just for you!) right downstairs. Plus, there is free wifi Internet inside the condo.
The main attraction? That would be the view. Downstairs, your living room extends through sliding glass doors that span the width of the entire unit, to a large balcony with table and comfy chairs.
Enjoy the living room with a chic but comfy sofa and large beachy glass-topped coffee table, perfect for games of scrabble or sipping a cool drink. A brand-new flat-screen TV is tucked in a white armoire, standing ready to entertain with a show or DVD after a great day at the beach. Gorgeous double-birthday week!
I cannot tell you how much we have enjoyed living in this lovely place all week. My family owned one of the Island House t'homes when I was groing up, so was a little like coming home for me--place looks good. As for your townhome: The decor is absolutely perfect--elegant beach, without trying too hard like so many. We we able to use some of the beach equipment from the large and thoughtful stash in laundry room- thanks especially for the boogie boards--so much fun for us old kids! Laundry, oven, dishwasher, disposal, toilets, showers, fridge and freezer: All in great working order. AC kept us perfectly cool and comfortable, as did the comfy bed.
Thank you so much for allowing us to borrow your beach home--it was fantastic!
Needs a plumber and an appliance repairman
The condo had beautiful views, new carpet and drapes and very nice furnishings and decor but the washer was broken and we couldn't get in touch with maintenance. Also the showers were having drain problems such as stoppers not staying open when you showered.
October Beach Trip - A211 Island House
The Island House is a nice, well-maintained community with beautiful grounds on Crescent Beach. Our one week stay was the last week of October and we enjoyed the cooler temps and quiet beach. This corner unit has a good layout with lots of natural light and direct ocean views which makes it quite desirable. It felt more like an apartment than a condo. Overall, it was clean, comfortable, well equipped and quiet. I would definitely recommend this unit and the Island House to a friend. It is in a great location not far from the European Village, local restaurants & grocery stores, etc. We ate at Salt Water Cowboy twice, Harrys, Bucket Burger twice, and the French Bakery and Café. Great fudge at Kilwins in the old village. In regards to this unit, my only recommendations would be to replace the tired/uncomfortable sofa with a comfortable sofa maybe in indigo blue for contrast with the newer tan carpet, add one ottoman to better relax while sitting in one of the side chairs, and replace the broken downstairs screen door. Meagan at Vacation Rental Pros was wonderful and listened well as to what our needs were for our vacation week. We hope to stay at the Island House in St. Augustine again soon!
The location and view are both fantastic but the property is in need of updating. I would definitely stay at Island house again (as I have for the past 20 years) but not in this unit until it is updated. On the upside, vacation Rental Pros is a top notch, first class organization. Very friendly, helpful and organized.
My family enjoyed our vacation and we hope to return again soon. The condo could have been cleaner and the sleeper sofa was not comfortable but the location was great.
