About Carrie Stowers

Fun-loving, Harley riding, musically inclined, mom with a strong love of Las Vegas.

Carrie Stowers purchased this studio in 2010

Why Carrie Stowers chose Las Vegas

I've lived here 20 years and sincerely love this town. Lately, we've noticed the hotel rates for some of the big weekends here in town and just felt that it was too much! We want folks to come and enjoy their experience in our fair city, and not feel taken advantaged of. So..we're opening up our home for a few weekends a year to spread our love of the city and hopefully meet a few more people to love in the process :)

What makes this studio unique

The location is what is ideal about our property. You really can't get any closer to the action and still be in a residential area. Many pilots for the airport live in the area. We are immediately off of the 215 near the I 15 so immediate access to the entire city is ideal.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The casita was just as advertised. Not sure what the last commenter had an issue with unless she didn't read the description? We loved it. It was super close to the airport and the strip.

Cute and Comfortable Vegas Casita

  • 5 of 5

We were already booked at this property when we read the most recent review. I admit we were unsure of how it would go but since our stay I felt compelled to write. The place is perfect for 1 or 2 people. The location is right off the I215 and the I15 so it only took us 15 minutes to be parked at the Convention Center. Amazing. The bed was comfortable. It has a memory foam top and a duvet and 4 pillows of varying density. There ARE blinds on the windows and a panel for the bathroom door (recently added). The construction is new and there are 2 large ceiling fans that make the environment very comfortable even tho it was 115 degrees outside. The walls are decorated with memorabilia and high end art associated with the careers of the owners..fairly famous musicians. Really cool. The TV is larger than any I have in my home and is better than at the movies AND you can DVR your shows. The floors and shower are tiled with travertine. They had two sets of towels, one in the bathroom and the other in the closet on the shelf. 2 new rolls of toilet paper (lol) and extra toiletries (shampoos, etc.) in the medicine cabinet and vanity. The half fridge wast big enough for our drinks and left overs from dinner. The microwave didn’t look like it had ever been used (but honestly, Vegas restaurants are the best). The coffee maker was one of those Konig (sp?) single serve units and the unit came with coffee, creamer and cups. There was a copy machine and desk related things. The owner provided a handy write up of suggested restaurants and things to do and they were actually really great. We altered our plans a bit to check some of them out. (We did the helicopter ride! Thanks Carrie!) The couch is comfortable enough for sleeping (sheets/blanket provided) if you have a third person (best for like a kid). The pool was clean but the yard had many trees around so I can see how leaves could be an issue. We saw the owners messing with the pool but it was quite clean during our stay. The owner likes you to make a reservation to use the hot tub by shooting her a text about a day before you want to go in. We came back from dinner and the yard was all lit up by their beautiful fire pit. We had wine in the tub and it was perfect. More private than a hotel. The owners were super! (Cant wait for your CD, Jimmy Carpenter!) We were in town for a conference and I had materials sent to her address so that I didn’t have to drag them on the plane. Thanks for an excellent experience.

Owner's Response: I really appreciate your thorough response, James! Our goals are to give our guests an experience that we would like and expect ourselves; a clean, comfortable environment and to be treated with prompt, friendly, courtesy. Much of this success depends on good communication on both sides. Thank you for being the type of guest that makes providing a great stay an easy task. Please come back again and stay during next years convention!

My husband and I were there for our honeymoon and it wasnt personal or romatic

  • 1 of 5

We were not at all impressed with our stay, we were there for 7 days on our honeymoon and it wasnt personal or romatic. It is a 400 sq ft building in the owners backyard and we shared the pool. During our stay the owners were not on property for 3 of the 7 days so if something were to happen they werent even there. During those 3 days they were gone the pool was flithy and if we wanted to swim we would have to clean it ourselves. As far as toiletries and shower materials, they supplied us with 1 roll of toilet paper and 2 bath towels so make sure you bring your own items. As far as eating goes make sure you have money to go out and eat because there is nothing to cook with and the refridgarator they have is very small and no place to store food. Overall it was not a good stay

Owner's Response: Dear Jessica, I'm so sorry you had an unpleasant stay. As a one star review is very damaging to small business owners and an unusual review will be highly read, let me first address a potential first time VRBO renter. We are not hotels. If you need constant attention, there are many hotels in Las Vegas that can offer you everything you need but will not in any way shape or form be as affordable as a VRBO. Most of us are just mom and pops that do the best we can to offer you a pleasant stay, but we have families and jobs and may not be available on a constant basis. Jessica, during your stay you mentioned a few things that you felt made your stay unpleasant. First you mention toilet paper. We always leave two full rolls per rental. Generally, for two people and a weeks stay, that is sufficient. Given the condition you left my bathroom, I could see that it was not. In the future might I recommend that you ask for another roll. Second you mention privacy and then complain that we weren't around for three days and that the pool was "filthy." I can assure any reader of this review that Nothing associated with my property is Ever filthy. I have been a so called neat freak my entire life and that is that. There was some wind on Sunday that left a few leaves in the pool and it was cloudy from some pool additives that I added Friday, but it was cleared up by Monday. The rest of your review alluded to things that are clearly listed in the listing of the property. It is 400 square feet. It has a fridge, microwave, and a coffee maker, cups, silverware and cleaning supplies. The pool is shared by the home owners but it's rarely used by us. In the photos you can see what's there. Please read the listing and assume that that is what you will get. No one else has ever complained about a lack of anything and as I told you on check in, "If you need anything, text me and I'll make it happen." You didn't text once. I texted you once a couple of days into your rental to ask if everything was okay and you said, yes. If you would have mentioned that it was your honeymoon, we have given you a bottle of champaign! These people showed up a DAY early and expected check in! When I explained that there were other people there and to show up at the listed time of 4 pm they came back at noon and moved in while we were cleaning. Awkward. The reviewer's husband talked to me incessantly, and I'm thinking is the reason behind this poor review. Ya can't win em' all. :/

New Orleans

As advertised, very good.

  • 4 of 5

As advertised, very good. An over sight on my part was that it did not have a kitchen. Being from New Orleans we like to cook, like wise being from New Orleans we know how to improvise. the place was very clean and close to the strip.

Beautiful Place

  • 5 of 5

Carrie's casita is exactly as described, with everything I needed, including toilet paper, lol. It is spotlessly clean, has very nice window shades, and a super flat screen TV. It is very convenient to the airport and the Strip. The pool and spa are lovely and just outside the casita door. She was a gracious hostess, but never imposed unless asked. I will definitely stay here again!
