Two Bedroom, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-8) on Boulder Creek (rent with 1 or 2 bedrooms)
Our Canyon Retreat on Boulder Creek is located at the western edge of Boulder, 5 minutes from Pearl Street Mall and the University of Colorado, surrounded by Open Space. The Studio has its own private entrance through an arbor from the ample parking area. And it's just 30 minutes to Eldora Mountain Ski Resort!
**Note, the price listed by VRBO is for ONE bedroom. The second upstairs bedroom can be rented, if needed, by letting the owner know when emailing. The additional fee varies by season and length of stay.
The first floor has a small kitchen, bathroom with shower, dining area and living room. There are two pull-out sofa beds for 2-4 extra guests. The entertainment center has a Blueray DVD player, ROKU for access to Netflix, or Amazon for movies, TV series, as well as Pandora for your choice in music. There is also high-speed wireless internet access for your laptops. French doors open on to your large private deck overlooking the creek, with tables, chairs and a gas barbecue.
On the second floor a wall of glass affords a fabulous view of the creek and canyon walls. There is a queen bed and also a futon -- perfect for children who might not want to stay down stairs. There is also a second bathroom with shower and a large closet.
We have added an optional second 'attic' bedroom, with 3 skylights, adjacent to the upstairs bedroom. It is optional and is renting for an additional $75-100 a night depending on the season. It has a queen bed and a sectional. Sleeps 2 - 4. Please arrange this additional rental through the owner. Or if you use 'Book It Now,' send your reservation through with one bedroom and we will upgrade it to 2 and send back to you for payment.
The large deck is fenced and gated for your dogs. There is a mulched 'potty place' and water bowls just for them. For more exercise, you can take them for a Bike Path walk or hike the trails.
The Boulder Bike Path just beyond your front door offers miles of trails for biking and running. Settlers' Park, Flagstaff Mountain and Chautauqua trailheads are all near, and Boulder Canyon Drive leads to the Indian Peaks Wilderness, Eldora Mountain Ski Resort and Rocky Mountain National Park.
And for the fishermen, there is trout fishing in the mill pond from the "beach" or walk over the bridge and fish trout from Boulder Creek!! And for water sports, put your tube or kayak right in the Creek from the property! Boulder kayak run is just over the pond wall as is Boulder Kayak Playpark just past the old Arapaho Bridge.
Or -- just relax on the deck with a glass of wine and watch the creek flow by. If you are a winter visitor, it is a bit like being in an ice castle, with the creek running between small ice cliffs. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing opportunities are close by, and you are only about 15 miles from Eldora Mountain -- home of the CU National Championship ski team.
We look forward to sharing this truly unique setting with you!

About Dorothy Tucker
Our family of 6 began in Pasadena CA but careers in marketing and arts management took us to Old Greenwich CT and NYC. For college, two of our children, Craig and Katie chose CU. We all fell in love with Boulder! While visiting them one weekend, Charlie and I took our dogs for a walk up the Bike Path and paused on the old creek bridge. There we saw an old house on a pond, surrounded by water and, lo and behold, a 'for sale' sign! And, of course we bought it right then and there! Architectural design had been an avocation of ours for many years, so as soon as possible, NYC was in our rear view mirror and Tucker Design Associates, as well as Tucker Walker Group Real Estate were born in Boulder! Our children are grown now and have families of their own, so we don't need the Studio space year around and are very happy to share it with you!
Dorothy Tucker purchased this Guest House in 1990
Why Dorothy Tucker chose Boulder
The property feels remote, far from civilization - surrounded by water, pines, cottonwoods and ever-changing patterns of light on the canyon walls, yet it is five minutes from shopping, world class restaurants, the CU campus, Chautauqua concerts in the summer and skiing Eldora in the Winter!

Simply the best stay in Boulder!
The Artist’s Retreat surpassed our expectations! The owner made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. The studio had breathtaking views right along the Boulder Creek and was very close to Pearl Street and downtown Boulder. We had a truly unique and special experience staying here—we highly recommend the Artist Retreat!
Absolutely beautifu spot. Meticulously maintained. Hosts were helpful and generous at every turn.
Wonderful experience in every respect
Minutes from Boulder but feels like you're in the mountains
Stunning place right on Boulder Creek. Sitting on the deck a few feet away from Boulder Creek you'd never know you were only 5 minutes away from Pearl Street. Great amenities and plenty of places to sleep (2 fold-out sofas and 2 full rooms if you rent the attic bedroom). Gracious host too. Would definitely come back.
No better place to stay in Boulder! Owners are attentive to detail and place is dreamy inside & out!
We spent three nights and wish we could have spent a week. We were looking at colleges and vacationing all from the serenity of this Boulder Creek gem. Plenty of room to spread out and never used our car as we headed to Pearl Street for morning coffee or dinner. Next time I will eat in and spend more time on the deck!!! Thank you Dorothy!
Beautiful Getaway on the Edge of Town
I rented the Artist's Retreat for a long girl's weekend and could not have made a better choice. It's right on the edge of town; separated enough to really enjoy nature but close enough to make a quick grocery run or go out to dinner. The house is gorgeous and even with 6 ladies it felt like plenty of space for the full stay. Dorothy is a wonderful host and I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking.
Absolute tranquility. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely feel lucky if we’re able to find availability in the future. The studio has everything you would need or want. Additionally, the attention to detail was greatly appreciated. A lovely place.
Eldora Mountain Ski Resort is just 30 minutes west of the Boulder Creek Studio! And Boulder Reservoir just 15 minutes north! And Put your kayak or your tube into the creek from your deck!!
