About the property

3 bedroom, 1 bath, cabin with direct lake views right from your porch

What is DOBECARITOGUS?

Dobecaritogus is so much more than a 3 bedroom, 1 bath cabin on the shores of pristine, Rangeley Lake.

Dobecaritogus is a homey escape that has all the ingredients of a classic, American cabin vacation!

It is the timeless appeal of carefree days on the lake, catching fireflies in a jar, and lying on the grass watching shooting stars. It is early morning coffee on the porch where all is quiet but the birds. It is the slam of the screen door signifying summer. It is lazy afternoon naps in the lakeside hammock, and toasting marshmallows with your family by the campfire while sharing the best parts of your day.

It is exploring new hiking trails only to discover the most beautiful places. It is hearing the pure delight of your kids laughter as they play "king of the mountain" on the swim float. It is putting on that bathing suit and jumping in that waterfall because after all, you only live once!

It is sunsets at the Overlook, moose runs on Route 16, and ice cream cones at Pine Tree Frosty's.

Dobecaritogus is family dinners at the kitchen table, a fierce game of cards, or simply sharing drinks and laughter with friends. It is throwing that old pair of skates over your shoulder and being out on the ice until you can't feel your face. It is watching the pride in your child's face as they catch their first fish or jump off the dock for the first time.

It is coming HOME to a cabin at the end of the day's activities to a place that's so much more than 3 bedrooms and a bath. It is a cabin where each and every piece of furniture, accessory and picture has been carefully made, repurposed, painted and chosen from our family's collection of "stuff."

More than anything, Dobecaritogus is a place where you'll instantly feel at home. It is a place where good, old-fashioned, family memories are created now and treasured for a lifetime!

Now for the specifics :

Dobecaritogus is a quaint and clean, 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin nestled on 45 acres and over 2,400 feet of southern shorefront on pristine, Rangeley Lake abutting Rangeley Lake State Park. It is only 7 miles in either direction from Rangeley or Oquossac. If you prefer to travel by boat, it's a less than a 2 mile shot directly across the lake.

Enter the cabin through the large screened in porch (glassed in for added comfort in the colder months.) Here you will find comfortable adirondack and rocking chairs and amazing lake views.

The cabin interior has a comfortable, open floor plan on the main floor with living room, dining room, kitchen,

1 full bathroom with tub/shower, and

2 bedrooms with comfortable, log beds ( 1 king and 1 with 2 twin sized beds)

If you love to cook, the kitchen is equipped with all the essentials a great cook would need and so many extras. You'll feel right at home! With the new, granite countertops just installed, it looks pretty great too! We know there is nothing like a good cup of coffee on the porch listening to the loons and watching the hummingbirds in the quiet of the early morning, so we've made sure to please all of our guests - Keurig, percolator, old fashioned "camp" stovetop coffee makers are all available. Just bring your favorite coffee!

From the spiral staircase you can access the lower level. A leather, pull-out couch ,TV with DVD player (no cable/internet), an electric fireplace and oriental rug make the lower level a cozy, second living space. Twin beds are tucked in a bedroom area off of the lower level living space. No one likes to do laundry on vacation, but in an adjacent laundry area, there is a washer and dryer for an added convenience. There are some fantastic, lake views from the walkout basement too !

For our cold weather guests, there are so many nearby choices for outdoor winter recreation :

* Direct access to the groomed, connector trail to ITS 84 with 150 miles of local groomed, snowmobile trails leading to New Hampshire and Canada.

* Saddleback is only 15 minutes and Sugarloaf is 35 minutes away.

* Ice Skating is available in town (weather permitting) on Haley Pond. Ecopalogicon offers loaner ice skates (limited sizes) and even a warming hut.

* There are also so many great, local trails for cross country skiing or snow shoeing.

For our summer guests, it's all about the lake:

* Shared docks can accomodate up to a 20 ft. boat, moorings for larger boats available (dock and mooring on first come, first served basis,)

* swim platform and roped off swim area with gradual sandy entry from the beach

*2 tandem kayaks available for guests use in summer months (bring your own lifejackets to ensure proper size)

* Horseshoe pit and Badminton

Year round amenities :

Fire pits

wifi & tv available in the lodge right up the hill

game room at the lodge with ping pong & foosball

TV in the cabin has only a DVD player - (no satellite or cable) - bring your gaming system or DVDs

An affordable option for families and friends to share! Sleeps 6-8 people.

Why spend your vacation cooped up in a cramped hotel room when you can enjoy this classic Rangeley Cabin all to yourself?

NO SMOKING IN CABIN OR ON PREMISES / NO PETS / NO PARTIES

*This property is the largest of 9 cabins that share the Niboban property as well as all amenities and the waterfront outside of the cabin

About Rebecca Campbell

We are a family of 6 consisting of Mom, Dad, two boys 15 & 18 and two girls 12 & 9. Rangeley has always been our happy place and after coming here for the past 18 years, we decided that it was time for us to own our own little piece of heaven. That's exactly what we found at this very special place. Real estate searching was a bit of a past time for us, but once this cabin became available we knew that we were home! Our search for the perfect cabin has been completely satisfied. We hope you'll feel the same way too.

Rebecca Campbell purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Rebecca Campbell chose Rangeley Plantation

Nothing is more important than family. In the hectic pace of our daily lives we sometimes stray from spending time with people we love or just remembering how fun family is. That's exactly why our family bought this beautiful property in this magical setting. This is where we come to disconnect from the world and reconnect with family and it works every time! We know it will for your family too!

What makes this cabin unique

From the moment that we walked onto this special property we knew we were home. Now our family wants to share this incredible place with yours. Whether your sitting on the porch in one of the gentle rocking chairs or playing checkers with the kids on the picnic table by the lake, you quickly realize that Dobecaritogus was made for people just like you.

Nowhere else can you be almost guaranteed that you'll see a moose or catch that fish that will have you talking for years to come.

Epic vacation at Rangeley Lake

  • 5 of 5

It was an amazing trip. The views are breathtaking, crisp clean air, we saw moose, deer and some interesting birds, even the people were very warm and welcoming. The cabin is just as advertised. Pictures are spot on. We loved every aspect of the vacation. So glad we took the opportunity to stay in this cabin on rangeley lake. We absolutely will return one day, no doubt about it. Thank you again

Rangeley offers so many unique experiences from renting a boat to hiking the Appalachian trail to staying at the cabin and fishing. There are so many great things that a week isn't long enough. The restaurants in town are amazing. There is shopping, ice cream or just walking around. Rt 16 is a great place to see a moose we saw 3 they are beautiful and majestic everything you would expect. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful, fun place to vacation at. Rangeley is whatever you want to make it. Renting the cabin was an easy process. The Campbells provide you with all the information you need to have in a binder on the bookshelf, so you can make educated decisions on what you want your vacation to be from exciting and fun to just being outdoors and soaking up the sun. Finding this cabin was the highlight of my year. Love love love it.

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year renting this cabin on Rangeley Lake. We love how peaceful it is here. The cabin is so clean and has everything you need. It's great having laundry so everything can get washed up before heading home. There are other cabins on the property but it's been quiet both times we came. The water was cold but it didn't stop our kids from swimming every day.

An outstanding choice for a family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

I took my daughter and three grandchildren (ages 4, 6 and 9) for the July 4th week. We had a wonderful, wonderful time. The lake is beautiful, quiet and pristine. The cabin is cozy, with a very well supplied kitchen. Having a washer/dryer was great -- we knew that we didn't need to pack so much for the children. I highly recommend the Campbells cabin and we hope to go back next year!
