About Jim and Carroll Grant
Hi there! We are your hosts, Jim and Carroll Grant and we want to welcome you to our wonderful cabin by the creek! We are both RNs by training, and were looking for a wonderful relaxing place to enjoy such a beautiful area, when we stumbled upon this cool little cabin. We love the sound of the stream, the easy access, and all the activities that the Smoky Mountains have to offer our guests.
Jim and Carroll Grant purchased this Cabin in 2015
Why Jim and Carroll Grant chose Maggie Valley
We ran our own real estate business for years until moving to Maggie Valley, and am very particular about any property that we buy. It has to be in the perfect location (always a top real estate consideration), and have lots of charm which will be attractive to visitors. We fell in love with Maison Ruisseau due to its beautiful setting on a private rushing creek, separate game pavilion, beautifully treed and landscaped lot, rustic charming interior, and perfect year round access location (this is a big deal for rentals!).We think you will too!
What makes this Cabin unique
Year round rushing creek right off your deck (master also opens out to it), huge detached game room with wood stove, huge flat screen TVpool table, ping-pong top, foosball, darts and more. Cabin has interior walls of rustic cedar, a huge deck, hot tub, cable TV, free wi-fi , and all the natural beauty you could ever hope to find, all in a peaceful, quiet, private setting that is easy to get to and convenient to everything!

The cabin was lovely. The running creek was so soothing! We slept with the windows open so we could hear it. The cabin had everything we needed & Jim was absolutely wonderful to work with. We hope to visit here again.
Great stay in peaceful setting
We arrived at Paradise Found a little early and contact with homeowner was accommodating for us to get into the property earlier than 4 pm.
House has a rustic look with interesting decorations that give it charm and makes you pause to check it all out. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and bed was comfy. You hear the rushing water from the stream. Very calming and just what we both needed. We hardly left the property and explored the game room, played pool and darts, enjoyed the “crows nest” over the river and the hottub, which was clean and relaxing. We left the doors and windows open for a breeze to escape the heat of Raleigh during Florence. We would love to come again, House is under contract for sale but understand it will still be available to rent if nothing has changed. Jim is a wonderful host and a phone call away. Thanks, Jim
“Unto these hills” drama and Cherokee Indian Reservation, Bear Meats Indian Den are things to check out
Glad you enjoyed your visit--it is a nice break from big-city life for sure! Thanks for leaving everything so nice and neat...we love having other VRBO owners at our property...they understand what it's like to keep a property in good condition and always do a little extra for us--we appreciate that very much!!
Our new favorite place
We stay at all kinds of VRBO rentals. Within an hour of arriving here we all declared this one to be our favorite. It's not just the rec room in the garage, or the roaring mountain stream you can hear from everywhere in the house, or the beautiful yard or quaint neighborhood. It isn't just the cleanliness and attention to detail or all the extras that are provided in the house.....it's just the total package of relaxation. Sitting on the porch and listening to the water is so supremely relaxing, and sleeping is incredible with that soft white noise in the background. Our two dogs, who are often tense when we travel and nervous in new places, were totally relaxed and enjoyed it as much as we did I believe. We will definitely stay here again and again for a short getaway from reality.
The setting was lovely, but the cabin and game room were filthy. We will not return or recommend to our friends. We didn’t plan on having to scrub floors, cabinets, refrigerator, etc. for our vacation. On top of that, the owners charged a cleaning fee.
It seems that there will always be someone who can't be satisfied. It has taken us over two years for that person to emerge, but sadly, such is now the case. We clean our property personally, so we have first hand knowledge that it was certainly not filthy as described. This fact is confirmed by countless others who found just the opposite to be true. We both vacuum and mop our floors after each guest departs, in addition to numerous other efforts to be sure the environment is clean and welcoming. We are certainly sorry that all our efforts weren't sufficient for this couple and their two dogs!
Relaxing cool cabin
Enjoyed our relaxing stay in your cabin. The cabin was clean and provided many of the needs for a comfortable stay. The creek provided a soothing sound throughout the cabin as well as a nice breeze. No air conditioning was needed during our stay. Our dogs loved playing in cool creek waters. Thanks to the owner for greeting us at the cabin and showing us where everything was located. The hardest part of the stay was having to leave.
Glad you enjoyed your stay! Yes, our dog, Penny has spend lots of time in that creek :-). It will certainly cool you off in the summer. Even the cool breeze off of the creek is quite enjoyable at night!
This cabin is perfect and Maggie valley is a great central place to stay when visiting the mountains. We loved sleeping with the doors open with just the screens listening to the creek. The hot tub is just the icing on the cake after a long day of hiking and waterfalls. Jim is a great host and we will definitely be back!
Glad that you enjoyed your visit, and you're right--there's nothing quite like the relaxing sounds of a rushing creek just outside your bedroom window! Hope to see you again soon :-).
