When you’re out on the long, screened balcony of our condo at Tidelands 1942, you have a fabulous view of lush treetops, tropical birds, and the bright blue Palm Coast sky. Come savor the peace, beauty, and comfort of this luxury condo on the Intracoastal!
Spanning the length of the condo, the balcony is the first place you will fall in love with at Tidelands 1942. Out here you can enjoy the balmy breezes while being protected from the direct overhead sun, and enjoy world-class views without the bugs! There’s a space for casual dining, some lounge chairs, and a smooth tiled floor. Heaven any time of day or night!
Step indoors from the balcony to the living area, a beautifully decorated, spotlessly maintained formal room you will be proud to show off to friends and family. Who says coastal living has to be quite so casual?! You’ll love the ultra-comfortable leather couch (which converts into a queen-sized bed, in case you have unexpected overnight guests), the entertainment center with big TV and DVD player, and even the desk in one corner for your laptop or other electronics. You have free wireless Internet here, so you can stay as connected – or not! – as you like.
Just through the column-and-arch doorway to the living room is the dining area, featuring a tiled floor, polished wooden table set for 8, and soft lighting. You can see straight out the sliding-glass doors from this table, bringing the view indoors with you! And the kitchen just steps away. Of course, you may wind up taking most of your meals out to the balcony, in which case this table makes a great spot for cards and board games!
If you’re used to the primitive furnishings of hotel rooms, you’ll love the kitchen at Tidelands 1942. Not only does it have spotless, full-size appliances, but the cabinets are full of cookware, dishes, glasses, and utensils. It’s no exaggeration to say you could prepare and serve a Thanksgiving feast with ease in this kitchen – all you need to add is groceries! And you’ll appreciate the time-savers, from the coffeepot and microwave and blender, that get you back into the action more quickly. So whether you’re preparing homemade meals or reheating restaurant goodies this vacation, you’ll enjoy the kitchen!
Off to one side of the kitchen is our breakfast nook, a sunny and quiet room with a round table just right for a quick game of Texas Hold’em or a jigsaw puzzle for the kids. It’s also a great place to sit with a cup of coffee and write postcards, journal, or update your Facebook status (“Palm Coast is fast becoming our second home!”).
While the living and dining areas of Tidelands 1942 are all about togetherness and group activity, the 3 bedrooms are wonderfully quiet and private. The master suite is the crowning jewel of the condo, containing a king-sized bed, TV, private access to the balcony, and an en-suite bath with garden soaking tub and walk-in shower (not to mention his-and-her basins). This is your sanctuary, and you’ll look forward to retiring early and sleeping late!
The second bedroom is ideal for another couple traveling with you. It offers a queen-sized bed and TV, and is convenient to the second full bathroom, with both shower and tub option. And the third bedroom contains 2 twin-sized beds, a TV, and easy access to a full bath.
We’ve tried to think of everything a vacationing family or group might want. Our washer and dryer are at your disposal, and we provide all the linens and towels for every bed and bath at Tidelands 1942, including the sofa sleeper.
But the best part of our condo is its location. You’re right on the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway here, just a few minutes’ drive from the beach and within easy walking distance of fine boating, kayaking, nature trails, walking and biking areas, and so much more. The Tidelands complex offers swimming pools, tennis courts, a clubhouse with fitness center and activity room – just about anything you could wish! For your convenience, there is a one car garage available for parking with our rental. Come stay here and discover the good life along the Intracoastal!

Great place for a quiet, relaxing vacation!
I went here with four friends for a relaxing vacation. This condo was a bit hard to find and when we did find it, the access key given to us wouldn't open the door so we had to call the rental agency to get in. As another review mentioned, there were a few burned out light bulbs. The condo itself was very clean and spacious. We especially enjoyed the three bathrooms. The balcony was also a treat. I don't know if it was because we came on a quiet week, but there were hardly any people at the pool/hot tub every time we went down there. We also very much enjoyed the walking paths throughout the Tidelands community. We even saw a few dolphins in the Matanzes River while going for a walk. Everyone we ran into in the community were very friendly. The gated community also made us feel very safe.
It was VERY clean, beautiful views, peaceful!
We had a fantastic, relaxing vacation with our family. The kitchen and dining room were the perfect environment to visit and share great homemade meals. The condo is a hidden treasure!
Just Returned Home from Tidelands and Want to Go Back! Now!
Our family of seven had an exceptional 6-night vacation experience at Tidelands 1942 after Christmas. The condo was much larger than I expected and since it is on the fourth (top) floor the high ceilings were a pleasant surprise. It is a beautifully decorated and extremely clean unit. In fact the entire Tidelands development is pristine. Tidelands is a large development of detached single family homes and condos (view on Bing Maps). Beautiful landscaping and grounds. There is a large covered pier on the river with tables and benches. Large shade trees line the river and sandy walkways for pleasant strolls. There are biking and walking trails throughout the development, ponds with fountains, two large and beautiful pools with sun-shaded tables. Tidelands seemed nearly deserted.
There is a lot to do and see in the area. Many other beautiful resorts, golf courses, 30 min to St Augustine, 40 min to World Golf Village, 1 hr to Jacksonville. We drove south on A1A a couple of miles from the condo one afternoon when the temp was about 73 degrees and sunny. We stopped at the public access at Varn Park to the beautiful beach... also nearly deserted.
We did have a few difficulties. We did not receive the lockbox combo via email but I eventually reached someone by phone at Vacation Rental Pros who gave me the combo. When we arrived near midnight at Tidelands we had the proper address of the unit in our Garmin GPS but it took us to the wrong entrance. A sign there directed us to the correct entrance up the road. At the main entrance you are stopped at a gate and you will need to insert your driver's license in the machine and a security guard will scan your ID while viewing you on camera and asking questions about your visit. It took quite a while for them to find us in their computer system. Finally we were allowed to pass through all three gates! They do not allow parking of boats or trailers on site so the next morning I had to take my 10' cargo trailer to a rental unit (Hammock Hardware) and pay $10 per day for storage during our stay. Also, the owner did not leave us the key fob for our access to the pools and fitness center. The management office was only open 2 hours per day, three days a week and did not return my calls. Finally I was able to find someone who worked there but they would not give us a key fob without the owner's approval (which I did not pursue). Otherwise it was a wonderful vacation for all of us.
Walk in to a Very spacious top Floor End Unit.We had plenty of room for 7.The Screened in patio had a nice breeze to relax each evening. The condo was a 10 for cleanliness..Plenty of cooking supplies..Just bring your own spices etc. Large master bedroom and bath..Quiet area. The Grounds are Very Nice, right on the Intracoastal..We drove 5 minutes to the beach on..Jungle Hut Road.Walked around European Market and had dinner..Publix is a short drive..The Garage was great for our car..Its not oceanfront but so close you wont mind. One thing..The key Pod for the pool should be in a Labeled container .We didnt know where it was..Had to call and ask..Also Some paper and Writing pens would be nice..
The condo is big ,new and spacious.
The procedure to get into the complex was difficult and tedious every time we came into the complex . It's quiet- great pools and amenities. The Internet was a problem. 3 times per day we had to unhook it and reset it because the connection was lost .
Close to the beach but not a lot to do within the complex besides pool for teens .
Very nice but gate access was frustrating.
We really liked the condo, it was clean and relaxing. The big problem was getting through the gate. At least once once every day and sometimes more than once a day the security personnel would tell use they had no record of use staying there and we would have to argue with them to get past the gate. Buy the end of the week I was fed up with the whole situation. It made every day of my vacation stressful wondering if I would be able to get in the gate or not without a confrontation. I did call the rental agency a couple of times about the problem but it was never totally resolved.
