About Mila Caceres Schuler

Our family ( 4 generations of Californians) have Northern California in our blood and the natural beauty of Point Reyes draws us together in this little edge of heaven, helping define us as outdoors lovers. We have spent much of our free time in adventure travel throughout the world. In the year 2000 we decided to celebrate by walking across Europe. We started at the North Sea and 4 months and 1,100 miles later found ourselves in Geneve. Traveling on remote pathways we stayed at countless vacation homes and bed and breakfasts. It was with that experience in mind that we designed One Mesa for short and extended stays. Our hope is that our guests will feel that our lovely home provides them the comfort and beauty that makes this the spot you will always come back.

Mila Caceres Schuler purchased this house in 1979

Why Mila Caceres Schuler chose San Francisco Bay Area

We discovered the wonder of Point Reyes over 30 years ago when we would come to the Pt Reyes National Sea Shore to be in nature and get away from the city on weekends. We fell in love with this amazing corner of the world, with its little village, surrounded by a wild and natural beauty that is hard to believe is so close to a metropolitan center. This is a perfect place to walk, hike, bike, do photography, horseback ride, kayak, paint, read, write or just plain BE. A great vacation spot for nature lovers and those wanting easy access to places like San Francisco, Napa, and Sonoma, while being in a quiet world away from the 'maddening crowd'.

What makes this house unique

This lovely Mesa Road house, behind an electric gate, is on the sunny Pt Reyes mesa, is so centrally located that you can walk to town, drive 5 miles up to Marshall for a quick Kayak, an oyster or two on the Bay or pop over (National Park HQ 2 miles away) to the National Sea Shore Park for an all day hike...or just sit on the decks, in the gardens and enjoy the sky, the birds and the hot tub right without leaving the property! The deer do come right into the back field and the occasional bobcat has been seen prowling about. We spot Hawk and other feathered friends just sitting still.

Beautiful and comfortable home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the lovely Quail's Run while recently in the area for a wedding. The home is very comfortable and well stocked. Eclectic and interesting decor with comfortable beds and very well stocked kitchen. The garden is beautiful. Sitting quietly in the oasis surrounded by flowers, one could hear the many hummingbirds. We rented bikes to explore and have easy access to the great town of Pt Reyes Station. The Farmers Market in town is great as well as the shops. Lots of hiking trails nearby and went on a kayaking trip in Tomales Bay. Great location for many activities while in a quiet neighborhood.

Wonderful getaway

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed this beutiful house, with vaulted ceilings, beautiful furnishings and well-appointed kitchen. The grounds are lovely, the beds are good with luxurious linens. The owner has exquisite taste, and was receptive to our needs. Pt Reyes Staition is a delightful town. We enjoyed hikes to the sea, lunch in town, time in the hot tub and movies in the loft. Highly recommend this little piece of heaven.

Six old friends trying to recreate many wonderful trips to Pt. Reyes found the perfect home .... Great location with easy access to the town of Pt. Reyes, several beaches, and plenty of other attractions ... Peaceful surroundings with wonderful gardens, a gourmet kitchen, and everything needed for a relaxing few days or more .... We stayed in another of Mila's properties a few years ago, and this one was even better ..... We are definitely planning on a return visit when we can coordinate our schedules - highly recommended!! .....

A cook's delight

  • 5 of 5

Lovely as always; the folk art, the garden, the views, the comfy beds. What we appreciate most is every piece of kitchen equipment one might need to prepare a nice dinner. It is the most well-equipped rental we have ever had. Gas grill worked great. Especially appreciated the quick response from property manager Eileen when we had questions.

Great house! Gorgeous gardens...and Pt. Reyes

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic week here for 3 couples celebrating 2 graduations, an engagement and a retirement. Pt. Reyes provided the daytime playground with hikes to Alamere Falls, Limantour Spit, Abbott's Lagoon and Chimney Rock. Grey Whales, Elephant Seals, a pair of coyotes, Osprey, several foxes, a weasel and many hummingbirds added animation. Cowgirl Creamery (Red Hawk!), Bovine Bakery, the Marin French Cheese Factory (Schloss!), Hog Island Oyster Company, Anderson Valley Vinyard (Pinot!) and the Russian River Brewing Company (Pliny!) helped sustain us. As for the house...well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of elbow room in the great room, loft, decks and gardens plus a baby grand for our jazz improviser. Loved the raspberries, roses, espaliered fruit trees and interesting garden "rooms". A very comfortable home base for our rare week together. Mila and her team provided excellent support. Stay here. You won't be disappointed.
