About the property

4 Bedrooms, Sleeps 8, 2 Full Baths, Fenced Yard - Great for Kids and Pets

This plantation home is the perfect option for a traveling group on a budget! Best deal on the North Shore for stays of one month or more at $125.00 a night!

This 4 bedroom, family friendly home comfortably sleeps 8 and is located in the neighborhood of 'Kukea Circle' in Waialua.

Waialua is located on the North Shore of Oahu, an area known as “The Country”. This is a neighborhood where you can experience life as a local... the sounds of children playing and Hawaiian songbirds in the morning. A bike path will lead you to our wonderful and remote beaches, ones that are not overcrowded like those in Waikiki, (hint... look for this local hideaway, Aweoweo Beach Park).

The Komo Hale: Experience True Plantation Living! Waialua is a former sugar mill town and residential area, quite different in its quiet ambiance from nearby Haleiwa, which is more commercial and tourist oriented.

Amenities: Here in the shadow of Mt. Ka'ala you will find the fragrant smell of plumeria trees, and a short walk to beaches during your stay. This property is private and all yours during your stay. You will not have landlords, or property managers on site and it will not be shared with other vacationers!

- Ceiling Fans in Every Room, and AC in the Living Room/Dining Room/Guest Nook and Queen Bedroom

- 1st Bedroom: 1 Master Bedroom with Queen bed, AC Unit, 32-inch flat screen TV, Vanity Area

For the environmentally conscious, Komo Hale is very eco-friendly. With a 'solar servant' hot water heater and 5.3 Kilowatts of solar electric panels, as long as the Hawaiian sun shines you are offsetting your carbon footprint like a celebrity and helping save energy.

About Waialua: The Waialua Sugar Mill closed in 1996 but is now home to many successful businesses producing Waialua Coffee, Waialua Chocolate, Natural Soap and Skin Care products, Tee Shirts, Surfboards, Salad Dressing, Cookies, and Organic Snacks. It is also home to the Saturday Morning Farmers Market offering fresh local fruits, vegetables and food vendors!

Less than a mile away you will find Haleiwa. Haleiwa is filled with local style and country ambiance as well as cool surf shops and boutiques, understated restaurants and charming art galleries. Rich with island history, Haleiwa is now the social and artistic hub of the North Shore. Here you will find surfers fueling up at the restaurants in its plantation era buildings before hitting the famous beaches of Waimea Bay, Pipeline, and Sunset Beach.

Great location, spacious, clean, well-equipped house, great price!!!

  • 5 of 5

I could not have asked for a better location. The North Shore is definitely the place to stay on Oahu. Out of the traffic and close to so many beaches. This house is about a quarter mile from beach access and a 3 to 20 minute drive to countless other beaches including swimming beaches, snorkeling beaches, turtle Beach, surfing, kayaking, and even rock jumping at Waiamea Bay. The owner has provided all the extras you need for days on the beach. Plenty of snorkeling equipment, sand toys, chairs, boogie boards, coolers, even a couple bikes.

The house itself is beautiful, big and clean. The owner has towels for the baths and towels for the beach and games to play and guidebooks for the island. The kitchen has everything you need in great plenty. The washer and dryer are the real deal for big loads. There are plenty of blankets and sheets and pillows for a big group. I thought the price was also amazing especially for how much we got it was a big bang for our buck. Trying to travel with a large family and keep it affordable was possible because of this house.

The house is situated in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. It is so relaxing and seems so far away from the hustle and bustle of the traffic and City Life yet you can get to Waikiki or Pearl Harbor or the airport in well under an hour. And the drive to anywhere is just beautiful. There are lots of restaurants and fun shopping in the very near by town of Hale'iwa. Foodland is also close and allows for a lot of home-cooked cheaper meals now I do recommend a stop at Costco if you are trying to feed a bunch of people on a budget. Don't forget to get a pineapple for every day you are there :-)

North Shore

We just loved this place! It was very peaceful, clean, and spacious. The location was perfect for us! We had access to everything we wanted to do and every place we visited. We do not want to give up too much information about this place, so it can remain a surprise for those who rent it in the future. The owner very accommodating and very hospitable. We are looking forward to staying here again next year.

Was a great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Bob was fantastic. We arrived in Hawaii having rented a different house through Craigslist only to find there was no house. We found Bob's house on VRBO Bob went to every effort to make sure we had a place to stay. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood and was clean and comfortable. I would rent this house again. Mahalo Bob!

Great north shore property near beaches.

  • 4 of 5

Location is great! And in a nice quiet neighborhood. Amenities were good, lots of beach "stuff". Nice appliances. If I had anything, it would be the lack of consumables. No trash bags. No paper towels. Little toilet paper, but that is expensive there, so I get it. Final word? I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Owner's Response: William, Thank you so much for your visit to Komo Hale, and for your review. We have had very few guests leave the house in such pristine condition. I'm glad you referenced the issue of expendable supplies. Prospective guests should be aware that Komo Hale is a vacation property, not a hotel, and therefore we do not provide daily room service and have no opportunity to replenish expendables. We do provide at least three rolls of toilet paper per bathroom when preparing the house for guests. This is addressed in the rental agreement on page 2 as follows: "Special Note: As a courtesy, initial rolls of toilet paper and paper towels will be provided. Since daily maid service is not included we cannot gauge the amount of usage of these items over your stay. Please be sure to purchase these items throughout your stay." While you have the house to yourself and have privacy, and we can usually help out in a pinch, (Laura said she sent over five trash bags for you), we do not ever enter the house uninvited when we have guests except in an emergency, which has not occurred to date. After checking we have realized we have not kept an eye on paper towels, and you may have had none, I have to apologize for that inconvenience, although we do have lots of kitchen towels, hand towels and there are paper napkins in the kitchen. Thanks again for your visit and please keep us in mind when you return to Oahu. Bob

Komo Hale is Ohana lovely

We couldn't have asked for a more pleasant, well equipped house for our extended stay. The kitchen is fully equipped, all linens provided, sporting equipment for swimming and biking, everything we needed to enjoy our time there. We would recommend it for any family or couple with friends.

Great place in quiet neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

Nice house with everything you need for your stay. Perfect if your not to so interested in the city life. Had some minor faults with things not working properly or had some defects. Bob answered quickly, but since it didn't bother us nothing was done while we were there.

A small village with everything you need is only 10 minutes away. Close to a nice beach.

Not easy to get a cab up north, but a uber was possible at some times.

Thank you for the stay! Will consider it again if im ever going back.
