The six pasenger detachable super fast Super Bee lift is where it's at. To the top of Copper Mountain in under 8 minutes with shorter lift lines than the other base area lifts. Locals hail Copper Mountain as 'THE Skier's Mountain,' with over 20 lifts and 2,433 acres of terrain. Copper is less than a 30 minute drive to, Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Vail.
This vacation home is NON-SMOKING (of any kind) and NO PETS, please.
We are an active family of four.
Debra Kendle purchased this townhome in 2004
We chose Elk Run because it is close enough to the lifts and center village, but in a quiet location.
We have furnished our townhome as our second home.
We enjoyed our stay. The condo was comfortable and had all the ameniities one would want. It was not exactly ski in/ski out, but the walk was short to the base of the Super Bee lift. I was impressed with the quality and quantity of the flatware, dishes, utensils and other kitchen items. Be prepared for climbing steps as the condo is three levels.
Very clean, nicely appointed, superior in the details (furniture, bedding, decor, kitchen facilities and utensils, bathrooms, electronics, general quality of construction) to most rental properties.
Location is nearly ski-in ski out - have to walk a small distance - perhaps 50 yards - at beginning and end of day to get from door to access to Super Bee lift/ end of day run. No big deal, but you do not ski to and from the doorway.
Super Bee base area services and shuttle bus stop to other areas of Copper and also the Summit Stage are also a short walk from the unit.
This ski in and ski out access would be less than desirable for a true beginner. True beginners will want to shuttle bus to one of the other base areas.
Strong beginners and intermediate skiers will mostly prefer to ski areas not served by the Super Bee lift - they will ride it up Super Bee and ski a diagonal run to other parts of the mountain. Again, not a big deal, but if the entire group is beginners and intermediates, I would recommend staying at the Center Village area or possibly West Village, not East Village. Skiing back to the unit is very convenient from other parts of the mountain for all but the most basic beginner.
Strong intermediates and advanced skiers will love the easy access to hard blue and black runs. The location is excellent for this level of skier.
Very comfortable for 6 adults or 4 adults and up to 4 kids. Would start to get a little tight for 8 adults. Would not recommend for more than 8 people except for a night or two, unless you really like each other.
We had a wonderful stay at the home. Although we were there during spring break the complex was quiet. The home was well furnished and in a great location. Would definitely return.
We sure enjoyed our weekend at Elk Run. You home was comfortable and a great place to unwind. It was great to be able to come back to home-cooked chili & cocoa for a lunch break, then back to the slopes without losing valuable ski time, it is so relaxed! The Super Bee lift was closer than I thought, and our kids loved the evening intertubing, 3 minutes away off of copper station. Can't wait to come back.
Located in the East Village at Copper Mountain.
