Quality assurance:Licensed & inspected by NS govt: The Noel Shore, is rightly known as the 'undiscovered jewel' of Nova Scotia, the area offers unparalleled ocean views, miles of all but deserted beaches, the awesome spectacle of the world’s highest tides and a unique & traditional experience of Nova Scotia. We are delighted to share this peaceful 60 acres of 'heaven' with others who also want to walk gently on the earth & preserve its beauty & peace. All of our guest services emphasize care for the environment. Absorb the astounding views; listen to the roar of the surf from the world's highest tides; swim in the mellow salt waters of the Minas Basin; walk on the beach for miles in an area famous for fossils; explore the tidal pools, the woodlands & meadows; fish for sea bass; follow our Trout Pool Brook to the very special place where it burbles gently across a sandstone shelf & cascades in a beautiful little waterfall to the sea, watch the abundant wildlife (including deer, eagles, quail, pheasants, humming birds, osprey, owls)
Perfect for large gatherings of family and friends: Shore Haven is an ideal location for gatherings of family and friends for holidays or special occasions such as weddings, reunions, anniversaries. A unique experience of the sea and nature with lots of room to spread out, indoors and out. We are directly on the ocean (Minas Basin), with miles of hard red sand/pebble beach that can be walked or jogged (or carry your mountain bike down and ride for miles and miles) and at low tide there is a captivating vast sweep of sculpted, walk-able tidal sands. There is private access to the beach along a path to the shore and down a short flight of stairs (vertical height of 8 or 9 feet). Guests can relax with such activities as long walks on the beach in an area famous for fossils and rock specimens (including amethyst crystals), and ocean swimming. The beach, the sea, the woodlands, Evangeline and Trout Pool Brooks, the birds and animals and an amazing evening sky offer so many opportunities for being “re-created” and restored by nature.
Lots to do without leaving home: Endless hours of enjoyment & relaxation are available on the miles of beach, the meadows, brooks & woodlands on this peaceful 60 acres. Fabulous open-air and/or glassed-in sea view of the world's highest tides, indoor & outdoor games (croquet, badminton, volleyball, ping pong table). Fish for sea bass right on our beach and cook it up in the gourmet kitchen. Relax in the sun on the deck while listening to the roar of the surf. Wonder at the soaring eagles over-head, fly kites on the meadow, walk the beach for miles.
“We are just thrilled to be coming back to our “beach heaven” at Shore Haven for our fifth perfect family holiday. How we have all missed the beach, the peace, the views, the house, and everything. Can’t wait to return.”
We've rented many properties and this one is a real gem. The house has beautiful views of the water and was absolutely spotless. We have small children and it was perfect for kids. There are acres of land for the kids to play in, and they loved the warm water in the tide pools when the tide went out. There is a waterfall on the property and gorgeous multicolored wild flowers
at the waters edge and surrounding the house. It was very quiet and peaceful and we saw only one person the beach during our stay. The owners Sandy and Carol were friendly, helpful and were very respectful of our privacy. Definitely five stars!
We had a very nice time at Shore Haven. We explored from Truro (went river rafting - highly recommended) to Wolfville and Cape Split (great hike – with wonderful rewarding view at end). The Noel Shore area suited our first driving visit to NS perfectly. Its very quiet but lots to see and do.
It's a very nice property and house. The peace and quiet was great and it was good to not be on top of other cottagers. The beach with its tides and cliffs were very inviting though have a good look at the tide clock on the wall before you go out - the tide comes in quickly.
Private, quiet and a great place to crash for a week or two.
A wonderful time was had by all 12-14 folks at one time or another. The kitchen had all the utensils, dishes and cooking accessories needed for such a large group. Plenty of towels, bedding etc and nice to have the availability of a washer/dryer on site. We found the layout perfect to sleep those families with children yet the adults on their own had space to themselves. We so enjoyed the location, the ambiance of country living yet only an hour away from larger centres. Truly amazing that we could see the ocean up to the boundary of the property, then have a bon fire on the ocean floor when the tide was out. Carol was so helpful prior to our arrival, I had so many questions, she was always so patient. The TV could have been more up to date, but once we shown how to use it the children were amused for hours with their movies and DVD's. We visited Truro, Windsor, Halifax, Wolfville and of course the sites in the Bay of Fundy area. There were no unexpected charges or surprises from our original agreement, which was great. Thank you Carol and Sandy you were always there to help when we had any questions or concerns.
If you are looking for relaxation, this is the place. Nestled among trees, with a sprawling lawn in the back and a beautiful view of the ocean, it was one of the best weeks I can remember. Strolling along the deserted beach in the day, with a deer at the top of the hill, then sipping a glass of wine and watching the georgeous sunset in the evening. When my days get hectic and busy, I think back to my amazing time at Shore Haven. I highly recommend it!
We stayed here for two weeks .. the ocean view was specatular, the tides were awesome and we enjoyed walking the ocean floor. The location was very private and lots of room for the dogs to run. It was a very clean and roomy property.
However, it is not executive-style. The rental was very musty upon arrival. The house itself is very dated and needs some attention. The main floor washroom needs some repair and the rear deck needs reinforcing. The TV could be upgraded as well. There are two bedrooms on the main floor, but the others are in the damp basement.
When you are ready to leave, be absolutely sure you get your damage deposit back or you may get blamed for damage that you didn't cause!
In every way this rental was exceptional. The space easily accomodated our 14 person family reunion. The kitchen was the best equipped of the seven reunions we have had and the owners would have added the one small items we found absent. The play space and equipment were outstanding. The grounds included a short paths through beautfiul Nova Scotia woods and to an amazing Bay of Fundy beachfront, almost totally private with 5 miles or more of walking the beach along the cliffs and one half mile walking directly out from the beach at low tide. Although our family did not do so, swimming was available at high tide. The spot is isolated as the owners will tell you and you will need to buy large amounts of food if you cook at distant groceries, which you can do on the way to this wonderful property. If you need restaurants and bars, they are far away. However we found plenty of and a great variety of fun excursions from 10 to 90 minutes when we weren't enjoying the grounds, and if you get up early and drive late, you can do longer trips such as we did once or twice to Cape Breton and the Atlantic shore near Halifax. Finally the owners went beyond expectations in responding to our questions and requests promptly.
