We have been vacationing in Northern Michigan our entire lives. Our children and grandchildren have grown up loving the area and spend many wonderful weeks with us each year. We bought this cottage 5 years ago and have loved every minute of the time spent here and know you will, too.

This was the perfect vacation rental. This is our fourth year vacationing in Western Michigan and this year was the best. The house is so inviting and family friendly. Very spacious inside and out. Large deck with an enclosed screened porch to the side was great for being outside even if it rains. Large lawn area was great for the kids to play. We were 2 families (4 adults, 6 kids) and it was the perfect size for us. It's a true gem. Very clean and well-decorated, doesn't feel like you're in a cabin. The access to the lake is great and the views are breathtaking. The dock is excellent for swimming, the water is shallow and the bottom is rather sandy/rocky, which was great for the kids. Overall, I would recommend this vacation rental to anyone. We will surely be back!
This was the perfect place for a great family vacation! We had two adults and four college aged children/guests. The home is more inviting and stunning than even the listed pictures which is truly saying something!
The lake frontage is beyond breathtaking whether it was morning coffee on the deck off the master bedroom, or wine on the dock for sunsets, or late nights by the fire pit as you are never too old for roasted marshmallows. The home is fully stocked and equipped for all your needs whether it is indoor cooking, outdoor grilling, wifi or simply sharing a late night movie.
The home is in a great location, plenty of privacy yet just 10 minute drive from both Suttons Bay and downtown Leland for dinner or shopping options. A little further but still easy trips were 30 minutes to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. All of which are great options to take advantage of should you have gotten a little too much sun or as a rainy day option.
The water frontage was very sandy all around the dock area. If you were entering the water directly from the yard it is a little rocky and some may prefer water shoes.
This was our first experience with VRBO and I have to say we hit the jackpot! The owners were very welcoming, informative, and professional to deal with and the property was everything we had hoped for and more. It was a fabulous week for our family and we would definitely return! Thanks so much for sharing your home.
This was a perfect family vacation totaling 6 adults and 3 young ones (2-4yo).
The listed pictures represent the house well, showing it's spaciousness and open floor plan. However, the beauty of the N. Lake Leelanau view could not be captured. Simply stunning!
The owner was very warm and accommodating in all of our dealings, making for easy preparation and providing support throughout our stay.
My family has been regularly visiting the Traverse City area for more than 30yrs, usually staying close to downtown. While I cherish those memories, I am now finding it much more enjoyable to stay in the Leelanau peninsula. This house is located within 10-15min from quaint downtowns of Sutton's Bay and Leland, as well as being located in the heart of the wineries, and still close enough to visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Key points of house:
- sufficient bedroom space to accommodate up to 10 people easily.
- open floor plan with large windows showcasing beautiful views of the lake from almost every room
- while there are neighbors situated close on either side, there is still sufficient privacy
- backyard is spacious with well-kept grass for kids to play, leading right up to the water
- lake water and lake floor are very clean, although I would recommend to bring scuba shoes to wear when swimming as there are areas where rocks can do damage to your feet.
- house is sufficiently stocked for conveniency (dish ware, grill, wireless internet, fire pit, etc...)
- UNBELIEVABLE VIEW
We would definitely stay again. Thanks
Beautiful Home and Stunning Views
From the beautiful views as you walk into the house you feel right at home at this cottage. It is spacious and provides many places for families to congregate from the family room to the encompassing deck to the wonderful places along the lake. It is a warm and welcoming feeling. The photos of the home well represent the home. There are so many places to go nearby but we often didn't want to go because the home was such a special place to be. The owner was very gracious and easy to work with. I almost don't want to recommend this home because I would like to keep it our secret! I would like to return again and again!
Near quaint towns of Leland and Suttons Bay, shopping, restaurants, water sports, sunsets
