About the property

One Bedroom Cottage Close To Countless Attractions And Dining.

Enjoy the Hendersonville area in our lovely early 1900s community. We have lovingly restored this one bedroom cottage with quality antiques and fine furnishings and linens. Nestled under huge shade trees and park like grounds, you will be comfortable inside, on the porch, or on a bench under a tree. We are dog friendly to conscientious owners. There are many scenic, low traffic areas to walk in our community. We are a two minute walk to a couple of gentle waterfall areas and Rhododendron Lake park(See pics).

The living room features a queen sized sleeper sofa, additional seating and a 50" T.V. and Internet. This dining room comfortably seats four. The bedroom features a queen bed with high quality linens and closet. The back porch has a gas grill and seating/dining area that overlooks a large dog run that is available. The kitchen has everything you need to whip up a local grown Carolina meal or enjoy some of our local wines and craft beer. We have been consistent users of vacation rentals and wanted to offer our guest home with all of the comforts we look for when traveling. We hope to see you soon!

About owner/property manager

I work all over the world, but love the call the Western Carolinas my home. I grew up in Florida, but moved to Hendersonville in 2006. Waking up to 60 degree mornings in June lets me know I made the right decision.

owner/property manager purchased this cottage in 2015

Why owner/property manager chose Laurel Park

I fell in love with this property the moment I saw it. The estate was built in the early 1900s. I have a weakness for the character of older homes. With a separate maids quarters and guest cottage, the property is great for hosting. I pulled up green(lovely color choice of the seventies)carpet and restored the original hardwood floors. I had fun finding vintage furniture pieces that came together to create a cozy and classy living space.

What makes this cottage unique

There is a fenced in dog run (see pic) that can be used to allow your furry friend to run around. The neighborhood roads are lightly traveled and great for walks through this early 1900s community.

Cozy accomodation

We really enjoyed our vacation at the Cottage! My husband and I stayed there with our dog for one week in August. The house is perfect for 2 people, clean, comfortable, well organized, and with the atmosphere of the “old times”. The deck is an extra value, quite and pleasant.

The hosts are very kind and attentive. They welcomed us with fresh home- baked bread (delicious) and all the essential for our stay. The location is a good starting point for daily trips.

A Little Piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

I had never been to Hendersonville and it did not dissapoint. The cottage was charming, very clean and in such a quiet area beautiful area. It was exactly what I was looking for and then some. There were nice touches that Diane added for my stay, such as little chocolates, brie cheese w/strawberries and grapes, a nice bottle of orange soda, coffee, cream, and a few extras for convenience. The AC was very nice. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away from it, and to relax, explore and get into nature to stay here. I loved it! My dogs loved it too and felt right at home!

Wonderful cottage in a great location!

This cottage provides everything you need, right down to lotions and soaps!!We spent a month here and could not have made a better choice. The TV and WIFI are excellent and it is only minutes from town while providing a lovely walk thru the woods or around the lake. Our fur babies loved it, too! Mike and Diane are so gracious and welcoming. They are committed to making your visit as comfortable as possible. Highly recommend you stay here!!

Nice, private place near Asheville.

  • 4 of 5

The house is hard to find and I think the owner could publish more detailed directions. Once found, it was a good place for 2 people. The owner is very responsive to any help needed and checks in once in a while to see that everything is all right.

I liked the privacy and the road that runs by the house provides a good place to take walks. I brought a dog and it was especially good to have a safe place to walk my dog. The house is adequate and comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage to others with the above info.

Great location, perfect for 2

  • 4 of 5

This cottage was in a beautiful wooded neighborhood, with very easy access to so many things including DuPont State Forest, Mills River, and more. We loved the wooded trails surrounding the property, perfect for walking the dog. Small, but cozy, and perfect for 2 people. Mike and Diane were terrific hosts.
