Beautiful, Pet Friendly Unit Just Steps from Good Harbor Beach

Bedrooms 2
Half Baths1
Space 1,200 sq ft
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 6 nights

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 2-5)

This is a house “in back,” which provides amazing privacy, but with quick access to town, Rt. 128 and the beaches. Off street parking for 2 cars. Three breakfast restaurants within easy walking distance. Good Harbor Beach is a 10 minute walk, or a quick drop-off/walk back to save beach parking fees. Downtown Gloucester is walkable - about 10 minutes. Two minute walk to 7/11 convenience store, 5 minute walk (short 1 min. drive) to Stop and Shop and CVS with Redbox. Less than a mile to Rocky Neck, the country’s oldest art colony.

This two bedroom condo is a delight. Though it’s an older house, it was “flipped” 6 years ago, so everything in the condo is brand new. The living room has a large dining room table that seats 6 comfortably, large leather sofa and leather king’s chair, 42” flat-screen TV, DVD and stereo surround sound.

The kitchen is a well equipped galley style with refrigerator, New Wave oven, microwave, toaster oven and gas stove.

Both the master bedroom and guest room have full sized beds.

One of the nicest features of this condo is the large deck with patio furniture and a barbeque grill and smoker located right off the living room that overlooks our quiet little neighborhood and my perennial garden. We spend a lot of time out here in the warm weather. It is shaded nicely by large silver oaks in the afternoon, giving an 'up in the canopy' feeling, and gets a beautiful ocean breeze from the south. Mondello Square is a dead-end street, and our house is located off the street, making it very private, but easily accessible. Though there is no central air, we have no real need, as Gloucester is surrounded by ocean, and delightfully cool in the summer.

This condo is perfect for 1-2 couples or for a family of 4. Pets OK upon approval.

Keywords: Two bedroom condo, private location, easy access to town and Good Harbor Beach, quiet neighborhood, pet friendly, located in East Gloucester

About Barbara or Al

Our names are Barbara and Al Boudreau. We have a jazz band that plays regularly in the area, including Boston. During your stay, maybe you could catch our show! We are also sailors and will be living right down the street in 'Catitude,' our 30' Endeavour Catamaran. We love living here, and so will you.

Barbara or Al purchased this condo in 2006

Why Barbara or Al chose Gloucester

Gloucester is one of the most beautiful, interesting towns in the world, not to mention the amazing beaches for swimming, the intriguing history and friendly, helpful residents. We have moved many times in our lives, but Gloucester is the last. You will enjoy your stay here. There are so many wonderful things to do that cross over the cultural and recreational line.

What makes this condo unique

This location is very convenient, and you won't spend much time in the car unless you leave the island. Walk to breakfast, then walk to the beach, take a sunset drive around the back shore, then stop at a local restaurant for all different kinds of music, all within a short drive of the house. Talk to us about a boat trip down the Annisquam, and go under the bridge that you crossed into town. Relax and enjoy, you're in Gloucester.

Beautiful perennial garden, view from deck is off our neighborhood back yards, very green, very private in back and on second floor, overlooking large silver maple trees which provide shade for deck in the afternoon. Deck and condo receive cool ocean breeze from the southwest in summer. This is a rear house, so there is plenty of parking. Pets upon approval. Ask us about boat tours in the harbor and down to Wingaersheak Beach! Reliable contact for Swedish, deep tissue and therapeutic massage, 2 min. drive from house.

Great city, great location--15 minute walk to downtown and beaches. Good restaurants nearby and ideally located to sightsee in surrounding communities.

Hey! This Place Was Super!!

  • 5 of 5

Talk about being centrally located and convenience, you got it here at Al and Barb's home. There's a 7/11, Stop & Shop, Beauty Parlour, ice cream shop and the beach all within walking distance. You can walk to Main St. and all the boutique shops too, if you want? We're open ocean kayakers, and love this place because there was lots of parking on the lot and we didn't have to park our car out on the street with the kayaks on top, like most places. Al said there was room in the back, so we could off load, hose down and store in the back yard.

Inside, the beds were comfortable, wifi worked, and the kitchen was complete. There's big screen tv too. I told Al, my daughter was a finger picking guitarist and he loaned her his personal Taylor acoustic guitar.

Perhaps, the most convenient thing about our stay, was walking over to have breakfast at Zeke's at 5:00 a.m. in the morning. Sit at the counter and watch Mike put on a show for you in making your omelet and French toast. Take home some baked in house bread when you go.

We were lucky to stay here and be able to launch our kayak at various locations around Cape Ann. Our only regret was that we wen't able to stay longer. We really do miss Al and Barb's home...

had a great time!

  • 4 of 5

It was a real treat to stay in someone's home, not just a cottage. Very nicely furnished and so comfortable, especially the sofa. Loved the instruments and Asian textiles. Got a great picture of the geisha doll in the hallway!

Great location, within walking distance to Good Harbor, and a short drive or bike ride to any place else. The kitchen was great; my friends and I got lobsters and cooked a lovely meal. The hosts even let us have tomatoes and basil from their garden!

On my last night there, the weather was cool and foggy. I listened to the sound of seagulls and fog horns. That memory stays with me now, on this cold January night. It's always so hard to leave Cape Ann after such a relaxing week.

This is a great place. The hosts are friendly and will check in to see how you are doing, without being obtrusive (and their dog is nice, too!).

Perfect Family Location and Pet Friendly too!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned home from this wonderful rental. We stayed from August 10th-17th. The location is within easy walking distance of Good Harbor Beach, which is just beautiful. We went to Cape Ann Whale watching which is literally a 7 minute walk from the house....we saw three Humpback whales! Al and Barb are wonderful hosts and leave a great list of recommended restaurants and things to do. Definitely check out the Causeway restaurant....the wait is well worth it! We brought our dog Meeko with us and he was welcomed just like the family member that he is. Gloucester is such a quaint town and there are many beaches you can take your dog to. I strongly recommend this rental and the wonderful people who share their home! Thanks Al and Barb!!

Fun stay in Gloucester

  • 4 of 5

Nice property was within walking distance of both Good Harbor Beach and downtown Gloucester where there are many restaurants and things to do (5-15 min walk to nearly everything). Owners were friendly and accommodating...including guests and pets. A great place for a reasonable price.

Gloucester 2013

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four had a wonderful time in this rental. The rental was fully stocked with everything we needed. The rental was very neat and clean. We had everything that we needed. The only things we had to purchase was food and toiletries. There was always an ocean breeze flowing through cooling us even on the hot, humid days. Off street parking was wonderful. The owners checked in with us a couple of times to see if we needed anything, and when we did need advice on travel into the city, they helped us plan the best possible trip. It is a short walk from Good Harbor Beach, which does fill up quickly on those hot days. Within walking distance of downtown as well. We did not bring our dog, but the owners welcomed our dog. We felt this was home away from home. We had a wonderful stay, and you will too. Thank you !!
