About Marilyn Lowell

This property was built by our Aunt and we have been visiting this beautiful coastline since we were children. Now we have the pleasure of sharing it with our own families and others, creating memories to last a lifetime. Once you visit, you'll understand the unique charm and beauty this part of the country has to offer.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is a beautiful location to decompress and relax. The sound of the surf splashing on the rocks and ledges is comforting. Sip your morning coffee watching the sunrise above the local lobsterman hauling in traps. Enjoy the ebb and flow of the surf from the generous deck close to the shore or warm up inside by the fire.

Wonderful family vacation

  • 5 of 5

4 adults, 5 children ages 8 - 15

Had a wonderful time , nice , clean house with lots of character. Plenty of space in/around house for all of us. No traffic, no visible neighbors, no noise but nature. Kids enjoyed starting each morning with rock/sea glass collecting while parents enjoyed coffee on the porch. Kid biked along the dirt private roads. We were able to accomplish several day trips to both parts of Acadia national park. One day took ferry to bar harbor for "girls only" shopping trip. Although fans were provided it was difficult to find outlet plugs in areas where we wanted a fan. We did have a few days of intense Maine black flies. Once the wind shifted this was no longer an issue. Wifi and satellite tv was a huge bonus for the kids to wind down at end of day.

Relaxation at its best!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this cottage! We have not relaxed this much in years. We enjoyed Schoonic Point several times! Ventured to Acadia national Park! Saw an awesome sunset at Cadillac Mountain! The view from cottage was amazing! If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay this is it! Bar Harbor not a bad drive and well worth the visit! Winter Harbor was welcoming with a must visit to Gerrish's for breakfast or lunch! Overall a wonderful vacation we will be talking about for some time! Thanks Audrey and Karen for renting to us! We hope to come back again!

Wonderful place to get away from it all

Loved staying at the cabin! Mornings on the deck watching the waves come in while drinking my coffee were tip-top. Loved exploring the shore and just relaxing. Great stay!

A peaceful paradise

  • 4 of 5

The cottage and the surrounding property were just wonderful. The interior of the cottage was rustic and unfinished. This added to the overall character of the place. The furniture was in good shape and the sofa was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for just about anything you can dream up for a meal. The cabinets hold a lot of goodies. Some of which we didn't discover until later in the stay. But that was probably because we didn't look thoroughly enough. We had a few meals on the table out on the deck to enjoy the view and to take advantage of the phenomenal weather. Words cannot fully describe the beauty of a Maine sunrise. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return someday soon. Ed with SeaScape Kayaks was a great tour guide. I highly recommend them for a great tour of the neighboring islands. We bought lobster from the Winter Harbor Coop and cooked them at the cottage. They were delicious. This place is so quiet. The only sounds are the gentle lapping of the waves, the occasional lobster boat, loons, eagles, etc. Thanks for a great week.

Unstressed in Texas

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this cabin for two weeks and came home completely changed. We lost track of time, sipped coffee on the stone bench on the beach most sunny mornings, fished, went to the Blue Hill County Fair, whale-watched out of Bar Harbor and rekindled our marriage of 30 years. Would we stay at this place again? Absolutely.

Just as described and more!

  • 5 of 5

Loved how quiet, peaceful, serene and secluded this home was. Though I did not have cell phone service, there was a house phone and internet. There was a binder waiting with all the area attractions. But one of the best lobsters I ever had (that's saying a lot since my family lobstered in Connecticut for years) came from the co-op right in prospect harbor! Loved the drive to bar harbor, about an hour, and Acadia national park was amazing. I got to fish in schoodic, off frasiers point, and the Prospect Harbor dock too. We also ate at the pickled wrinkle, in Birch Harbor, and the food was amazing! We went the week before Memorial Day so there were a lot of things not open. We had to really drive to find things that were open as it is not tourist season. That was not a deal breaker for me, as there were far less people around. If you want off the beaten path, quiet and secluded, this place is for you!
