We own and operate a family farm in Southwest Georgia. We have four great kids (an air traffic controller, a chemist and two farmers) and two fantastic grandchildren. Photo was taken summer of 2012 of us and grandchildren on swing on dock!
Anita Tabb purchased this house in 2003
Our favorite place to fish on Lake Seminole has always been around the flats and islands between Spring Creek and the Flint River. We always wanted a home near our favorite 'fishing hole'.
We most enjoy the peace and quite of the property. Sitting in the swing on the boat house enjoying the view is our favorite thing to do while there!
Hubby and I live in South Florida and wanted to book a roomy home near our sons, their girlfriends, and our other relatives in North Florida. We found this home after looking at many listings and decided it was perfect for us. We arrived to find a clean, spacious, well-maintained home-away-from-home, and we spent the entire eight days that we booked at the house. We went into town just twice, and that was to get groceries because we wanted to spend all of our time on the lake. The kitchen was stocked with all of the pots and pans I needed for fixing some yummy home-cooked meals, and there was no lack of dining areas (as you can see from the photographs!). I slept like a baby in the king-size bed in the master bedroom, and I just can't say enough about this wonderful property. The owners were available if we had questions, and were ultra friendly to deal with. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful, clean, comfy home to spend a weekend or longer. I didn't want to leave!
This was a wonderful home to use as our home base as we explored the Florida Panhandle, Southern Georgia, and Southern Alabama. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 in this wonderfully clean and stocked home. Sleeping arrangements include - King bed in the Master, Queen bed in 2nd bedroom, 2 double beds in 3rd bedroom, bonus area off of Master with a single over a double bunk, and a sleeper couch in living room. There are 2 bathrooms - Master with a shower and other with tub/shower. The kitchen, living room, dining area, and sunroom are all open concept, making the home very spacious. The home sits on a great part of Seminole Lake and has a covered dock with 2 boat slips, swing, room to place chairs, and rod holders. The boat ramp is right down the road. We didn't bass fish, which this area is well known for, but did catch some bream and catfish from the dock. We also saw 2 gators, several turtles, and lots of different kinds of birds. The swing is a wonderful place to sit and relax. The home is equipped with dish network and wifi, if you don't want to get away from it all.
Bainbridge and Donalsonville are your nearest towns and are about 20 minutes away. There are a couple of little minute marts and a Dollar General right down the road, but for major shopping you will need to go to one of the towns. The house was well stocked - you just need to bring your personal items and food. The Tabbs were excellent to work with and were quick to respond to text or email if we had a question. We stayed for 9 wonderful relaxing days. If we wanted to just rest and relax, we stayed right there at the house. Other days we set out to explore the 3 states around. Thanks to the Tabbs for sharing their wonderful home!
Florida = Three Rivers State Park (25 minutes away); Florida Caverns (45 minutes); Falling Waters State Park (1 hour 15 minutes); Seacrest Wolf Preserve (1 1/2 hours); St. Andrews State Park (2 1/2 hours)
Georgia = Seminole State Park (10 minutes); Basin Park - Bainbridge (20 minutes); Providence Canyon "Little Grand Canyon" State Park (2 hours); Florence Marina State Park (right down the road from the Canyon)
Alabama = town of Eufala (about 30 minutes from the Canyon) - check out the Superior Pecans shop, great iced coffee
OUR STAY at the Tabb's Cabin for our daughter's graduation was great. When I tell you we were really impressed by how clean, stocked, and roomy the house was for us. Then we walked out the back door,it was refreshing to say the least. We must come again just for the R&R.
We enjoyed 6 weeks at the Tabbs' property on Lake Seminole. The house is spacious and very comfortable. Quality linens on the beds and comfortable seating everywhere.
The kitchen has great pots and pans to work with and lots of choices for seating while viewing the lake.
The sunroom off of the master bedroom is a great spot for reading.
We found some good restaurants in the area, but also enjoyed cooking fresh-caught fish at home. Everything you need is there.
The lake is fun to explore and the setting is great for long walks.
The Tabbs are great hosts!
Once again, this property was perfect for a family get together. The flat back yard and dock were great spaces for the kids to play and fish. The interior is open and allows everyone to be together whether they're in the kitchen cooking or watching some TV in the living room. The extra eating spaces and beds were all a nice touch. The Tabbs are easy to work with and very responsive. We would definitely stay here again.
