Welcome to Seabrook Island South Carolina located 23 miles from historic Charleston. High Hammock Villa is located on the 9th tee of Seabrook Island's Ocean Winds golf course and is within walking distance of the beach.
This is a two bedroom, two bath second floor villa; renovated spring of 2011. The villa has a great room, dining room combo with fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and on-suite bath. The second bedroom has two twin beds. Towels and linens are provided with the exception of beach towels.
Seabrook Island is a gated community which boasts 31/2 miles of private, pristine beaches and beautiful natural surroundings. It is a quiet, relaxing, residential community.
A town center is just outside of the island with a grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants and shops. Seabrook Island boasts new club facilities. (Guest fees and standard resort rates apply for access and use).
Our week stay in Seabrook Island at High Hammock Villas was great. We rented bicycles for the week and got in lots of (nearly flat terrain) miles. We spent hours walking the beautiful, wide beaches and cooling off in the pools or relaxing under an umbrella. We also enjoyed a kayak tour in the Bohicket Creek salt marshes. It was a good thing we got a lot of exercise, because we treated ourselves to a variety of South Carolina's fine food. We took time to visit Charleston twice for sight-seeing and dining. We walked, took a carriage tour, and toured a plantation there.
With my tongue firmly in my cheek, our only complaint was that the dolphins didn't get the memo requesting a performance of their technique of 'strand feeding' (Google it). The area where they often engage in 'strand feeding' had recently been disturbed for erosion control so they were not doing their usual thing the week we were there. We were assured that they are expected to resume feeding in the Kiawah River soon.
We loved this condo which was beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, and lovely view of golf course - would highly recommend it. Owners were very easy to work with, especially when we had a problem with the cable and WiFi. We thoroughly enjoyed 3 days at the North Beach with glorious sunshine. We also enjoyed eating out at night at Bohicket Marina....Rosebank Farms Cafe and Red's Icehouse (on the top deck overlooking the marina.) But one of our best memories was getting up early one morning to go down to the inlet just hoping to catch a glimpse of a dolphin or two, and had the incredible experience of seeing several dolphins and their act of "strand feeding" right in front of us. Wow - highlight of the trip! As we were heading home, we stopped off to check out Pelican Beach, and couldn't resist pulling out our chairs one last time to sit on this quiet beach for a couple hours. We found everyone we encountered to be so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We really couldn't have asked for a more perfect, relaxing vacation - we just wish we could have stayed longer. For sure we hope to visit again soon....a piece of paradise.
Our second visit to Seabrook Island and our first visit at this lovely home. Situated in a quiet community, the villa is beautifully decorated and very welcoming to guests. We enjoyed our stay tremendously.
If there is one square inch of this condo that is not well-appointed and beautiful, we never found it.
We had a terrific time--the weather was perfect beach weather--hot and sunny every day. We spent hours every day on the beach, saw the dolphins in the inlet, working together and stranding the fish on the bank--right before our feet! Saw the aquarium in Charleston--really nice.
We will sure miss Seabrook--but lots of memories to call up this winter.
This unit is wonderful. Very peaceful and quiet.I loved the decor and cleanliness. Close to the beach and pool area. Our family enjoyed everything about it. I will certainly recommend this unit to family and friends.
FANTASTIC is the only word I can think of to describe this condo and Seabrook Island. We stayed here for a wedding and enjoyed every moment. The condo was spotless and very comfortable. The master bedroom and bath was just like being at home. It’s in the perfect spot. You can walk to the clubhouse, pool, beach and dining. We sat on the balcony and watched golfers tee off the 9th hole. I recommend this condo highly and I will be back!!!!
