About Trish Jenkins
My husband Rick and I live in Columbia CT . We hope to retire at our condo in St. Augustine Beach in the not too distant future! We spend as much time as we can enjoying Florida until then.
Trish Jenkins purchased this Condo in 2011
Why Trish Jenkins chose St Augustine Beach
We have been enjoying St. Augustine Beach vacations with our daughters for many years . Island South Condominium Complex was our favorite place to stay as renters because it was small, well kept, had a nice pool, deck, and easy beach access to the non driving section of the beach. It was also within walking/biking distance to so many restaurants and activities. When the opportunity to purchase presented itself, we decided to secure our favorite spot on the beach so we could call it home!
What makes this Condo unique
We love walking this most beautiful beach at sunrise. Our children enjoy swimming, surfing, bike riding- It's great to walk to the local restaurants which all are very good! or to prepare a picnic for the beach- or a lovely dinner on the balcony. A bike ride to the Wednesday farmers market at the pier is a must for fresh local produce, seafood and arts and crafts! There are still historical sites and museums that we look forward to exploring, but have been impressed with the Alligator farm, Fountain of Youth, Flagler University, the Forts and a climb up to the top of the haunted lighthouse. We have spent a beautiful afternoon kayaking at Anastasia State Park with dolphins and manatees- Friendly folks at the State Park rental area gave us a free paddleboard test drive! It is well worth the hour drive to the Jacksonville Zoo; and two hours to Orlando. It seems the weather here is always perfect!

Nice location , only a few minutes walk to beach. Condo was very clean and spacious. Would stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay. It rained every afternoon that we were there, so that would be our complaint and you can't control that. We loved the condo. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. I loved the cute decor it added to that beach feel. I loved the patio and wish that I would of had more time there, along with the beach which was a short walk away. We went exploring in St. Augustine. We had Good food and Great Family times. Our two children , young adults themselves went with us. Plenty of room. I think a twin bed was lumpy . We recommend , The Sunset Grille and Athena's Greek Restraunt. A trolley tour of St. Augustine . This was a Wonderful place to stay. Very relaxing.
Perfect for our long weekend away
We were looking for somewhere to take a friend for the weekend who was visiting from the UK. We were a little concerned as a big storm had just hit the area and we had heard there was damage to the town. The communication with the owner was excellent she assured us that the condo was undamaged and that we would not be a hindrance to the clean up operation.
Condo was well-equipped and had everything that we needed, we could see the ocean from the oversized balcony and the walk to the beach from the back entrance was minutes away.
We decided to leave our car at the condo and used an Uber to get into town each day, a wise and inexpensive choice as parking was not easy to find.
The Condo had new appliances and was very clean. Definitely recommended and would go back.
We'll Be Back
This was just a wonderful place to stay. We are confident that we will be back to stay at this condo again.
Cozy, Comfy, Quiet and Convenient - Great couple getaway
My wife and I had a few days to escape from our hectic Atlanta lives (without kids!) and decided to try out St Augustine Beach for the first time. We loved everything from the moment we stepped in! While the condo itself is on the 3rd floor, it's actually an advantage for the better view over the dunes and the view is excellent. The condo is very cozy, quiet, comfortable and clean, with just the right amount of fun factor with beach-themed decor. Everything was advertised as promised, except the balcony... it is MUCH larger in real life than the pictures, we spent most of our time out there relaxing with the tropical breezes and sound of waves.
The location is ideal: it felt about mid-point along the strip of island, so walking anywhere was easy and manageable. We thought about bringing bikes, but never really needed them. The Publix grocery store is a 3 minute drive and we cooked all our meals except for a 30-second walk to Obi's next door for breakfast one morning. The Kitchen is fully functional and stocked for all basic cooking. (You may however want to bring extra toilet paper, paper towels and tall kitchen bags as it only comes with an initial supply, but again, Publix is 3 minutes away.)
Old St Augustine is beautiful to visit, about a 10 minute drive, but we found ourselves just loving our little spot of private heaven between some of the dunes (because it was a little windy this weekend), and just enjoyed the tropical pace and vibe. Big Bill's has great beach gear rental; everything was waiting for us in our condo when we arrived, and they picked up everything after we left... Heavy beach umbrella with an auger base so it wouldn't fly away, plus 2 quality reclining loungers). The pool is also quite lovely and clean.
Trish and co. did a fantastic job of making the rental process super easy and convenient, everything was done on my iphone and Trish and the rental company responded immediately and answered every question we could think of.
Overall, this is a class-act, a great condo on a heavenly strip of quiet beachfront... our only regret is we couldn't stay longer.
Thanks Trish for the hospitality, we hope to be back soon and will recommend this to our friends!
Great week in St Augustine
We had a great week at Trish's condo. The pluses... the condo has everything you need. Lots of towels, basic condiments, every kitchen item you could need and very comfortable beds and furniture. The grounds and pool are immaculate and it's a quick walk to the beach. There are lots a good restaurants nearby and all the local attractions are an easy drive. The only down side is you do hear a decent amount of road noise since this is the end unit and the bedroom with the twin beds is a good bit warmer then rest of the unit. The bar across the street does have a pretty loud night on Wednesdays.... Small minuses, but just to fully disclose.
Coastal Realty was great to work with. The folks working at their office were very nice and the coupons and info they give you along with the keys were very much appreciated. What I REALLY appreciated were their willingness to mail the clothes that I accidently left in the dryer!! Thanks very much for that!
