Beautiful and comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

This charming cottage was the perfect place for a vacation in historic Charleston! Matt was super easy to work with, friendly, helpful with restaurant suggestions, and all Charleston experiences! Our family of four (husband, 2 adult children, and myself) loved the area of town it is in! This home is right across the street from Hominy Grill and within a block of Fuel - we ate at both spots twice! There are many other close-by choices. It's about a 20-30 minute walk to King or Meeting Streets, but we didn't mind it because we enjoyed walking down streets lined with historic homes, lush foliage, & tried to stay on the shady side :). We did call an Uber a few times when it was super hot or after we had walked all day. Price was around $6.

Other favorite things about the cottage:

- Nice sized living area, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms

- Plenty of drawer space in bedrooms and bathrooms

- Large walk-in master closet, plenty of hangers

- Powder bath downstairs

- Kitchen very well stocked! There were even spices. We were tired the first night, and didn't have reservations anywhere, so we went to the nearby grocery store (Harris Teeter) and picked up dinner, plus fruit, veggies, snacks, & drinks for the week. They had everything we needed.

- parking spot designated for the cottage :)

- laundry room with detergent and dryer sheets

- super comfy beds - firm mattresses!

- lots of literature to read to help you decide what to do on your visit

*Look for the little book titled, Very Charleston by Diana Gessler, on the table in the living room! Or, buy it and enjoy before you come!

- We remembered to bring bug spray, but if not, there was some in the laundry room cabinet.

- Good water pressure in showers

- AC felt great after spending the day in the heat & humidity of Charleston in the summer.

I was overwhelmed with choices for restaurants, so here are a few we tried and liked:

Hominy Grill, Fuel, Magnolias, Hyman's Seafood, Vickery's Shem Creek Bar & Grill in Mount Pleasant (waterfront), Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams :))

We also enjoyed Magnolia Plantation, Fort Sumter, Fort Moultrie, Old Slave Mart Museum, The Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon, shopping on King Street, Pineapple Fountain along waterfront, & carriage ride historic tour!

So much more to see and do next time!

We have stayed in many vacation homes over the years. This Charming Cottage in Historic Charleston is one of my favorites! Thank you, Matt, for being an awesome host!

Comfortable accomodations in a great location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a week with our 5-month old infant. Without researching Charleston or the local area, we selected this cottage for its cuteness. Sometimes these things are a gamble, and this time we really hit the jackpot! The cottage itself is well appointed, comfortable, and beautiful. Attached, off-street parking was great to have. Two really great restaurants were less than 500 feet away (Hominy and Fuel). We were within a couple miles of all the hot spots, but far enough away to feel away from the tourists. I'd recommend this cottage to all of my friends. I'd tell everyone I DON"T like to go stay downtown.

Ideal base, comfortable and quiet

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and a friend traveled to Charleston for a wedding. We all enjoyed staying in this very spacious, beautifully renovated, cottage. The rooms are large and bright, the kitchen has everything needed for any level of cooking, and our two assigned parking spaces were a perk in a city where cars can be a liability. Staying in this cottage was a lovely experience, and we all look forward to returning.

Quaint little cottage!

  • 5 of 5

My mom, daughter, and I loved our time at the cottage. It's the most adorable place. We didn't need much, but the kitchen was stocked if we wanted to cook in at all - but with all of the great eats in Charleston, that wasn't going to happen :) Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were nice and spacious. It was a little further from the "happenings" in the heart of the city, but that was fine with us. The most expensive Uber ride for us was only $6. We didn't mind Ubering at all. If we wanted to walk, the heart of King Street was only a mile away. We preferred to have the quiet and quaint setting. We are glad we didn't take our larger SUV or I don't think we would have made it back through the alleyway to the parking spot...man was it tight! We highly recommend the cottage!

Amazing House - Fabulous Location!!

  • 5 of 5

This house is beautiful, fabulously furnished, everything is there that you could possibly need. We were attending a family wedding at The William Aitken House and this house was our home for four days and the location was perfect! So much space with comfortable beds, just what we needed after delayed flights from the UK. The front garden was lovely to look out onto and we saw a lot of people stood at the gate photographing the house - its so charming. Family photos on the porch, oh so many happy memories. Can't recommend this property enough, Matt was great and so helpful. We were so sad to leave but will definitely be back. Wishing you all the best Matt, you provide a first class service. Well done.
