Why Richard and Wanda Russell chose East

My family has vacationed here many times. My wife and I spent our honeymoon here almost 40 years ago. We like the many hiking trails and streams throughout the mountains. We always look forward to seeing a bear while vacationing.

What makes this cabin unique

We enjoy the quiet seclusion of our cabin. We love the mountain view. We also have trails within walking d istance of the cabin. We also have a creek on the property that you can hear from the cabin.

First of all, this cabin is not only beautiful, it has everything you need! The pictures do not do it justice! It is so spacious, plenty of room for our family of 6. We made used of the gazebo several nights, it was just a great set up. We enjoyed the jacuzzi every night after our long days in town & actually looked forward to the comfort of the beds at night! The wooded mountain view is just as beautiful at night as it is during the day. On this trip we were all hoping to catch a glimpse of a bear or two and sure enough on our first night there we spotted a bear crossing the road right down our cabin road! This made our trip! lol We were so excited! This was our first trip to TN and we were not disappointed! I would definitely recommend this cabin to my friends & family!

Beautiful views

  • 2 of 5

Lovely location and beautiful drive to get to it. It's a very pretty cabin; the bedrooms are roomy and and it was nice that each had its own bathroom. If you're looking to stay here, note that there is only seating for 3 in the living room (only 2 with a view of the TV), and no DVD player on the main level--so it's not comfortable for the whole family to gather in the evening. The kitchen was nice, but one stove burner didn't work and we counted at least 5 light bulbs that needed replacing. The whole place could have used more housekeeping attention--LOTS of dust on furniture and floors. Our grandson used the hot tub once, but it smelled so musty that none of the adults wanted to get in. Overall okay but it could have been much nicer.

Fantastic mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful cabin with an absolutely amazing mountain view! Every morning we had our coffee on the deck watching the sunrise illuminating the mountains, listening and watching the wildlife waking up. The cabin is beautifully decorated, feels very cozy and comfortable, though enough room for four adults to have their own space. We were fortunate enough to see the trees start to blossom and leaves popping out, which was my desire to see Spring in the Mountains! The owners are very prompt in replying to any questions, keeping the property very well maintained and spotless. We are definitely planning on returning, perhaps in the fall so I can experience Autumn in the Mountains!

Perfect family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our second time staying here, and it was amazing! Perfect weather, perfect location to everything. We loved how quiet and secluded it is here, and this house is great for our family of 5. Our kids loved the hot tub, and I loved the rocking chairs on the porch/deck to enjoy at night. We will be staying again!
