Our property sits in the center of wine country where you can visit our horses and other ranch animals and take scenic country walks or bike ride to many local vinyards or a short drive to Down town, the coast or Hearst Castle. We also are pet friendly, including your horses. The guest house is warm in winter with it's fireplace and cool in summer because of the adobe walls and courtyard pool location. Cozy and private an ideal spot for the couple that wants get away.
Usually, we find accommodations that simply give us a comfortable place to relax during our vacation experience; in this case, the accommodations actually were the experience. To look out the kitchen window in the morning and be greeted by peacocks, to peer from the bathroom window at chickens in their coop, to be escorted down the path toward the car by a llama, a mini-horse, and some pygmy goats in the nearby fenced field is an extraordinary experience. It is a beautiful, huge scenic property with a barn and stable housing majestic horses and rolling hills grazed on by deer. The guesthouse itself is nicely decorated, comfortable, and quiet with all desired amenities, a fireplace, toaster oven, microwave oven, washer-dryer, refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, a pool right outside the front sliding glass door...And the owner, Che, is the nicest person. It was an magical experience. Thank you, Che.
We wanted a comfortable rental that took dogs, and this rental surpassed our expectations! The guest house has a ton of character, tastefully decorated, and the owner Che is so welcoming and hospitable. He left a nice fire in the fireplace for our arrival on a cold, rainy day. Animals abound at his house, including peacocks, horses, a llama, goats and more. Several wineries are within walking distance - bonus!!! I would definitely recommend this rental and stay here again.
Our stay in Che's guest house was absolutely wonderful. It was the perfect escape for 2 nights on our way to visit friends for Thanksgiving. We could easily stay there longer! The place is cozy, the animals are charming, and Che is warm and welcoming, and really good to talk to.
Our little dog, Vixen, loved exploring her way around the ranch, and got along reasonably well with Che's dogs - Vixen is a little skittish, and Che was fine with her telling his dogs not to bug her!
The bed, couch and chair are all comfortable, and dog-approved as well! We had some rain and temperatures in the 40s or 50s, so we were happy to have the gas fireplace going which kept the place warm. The kitchenette was fine for us - a little bit of an adventure to figure out where to put the double hotplate to cook bacon, but it worked. And with all the great restaurants in nearby Paso Robles, that was the only time we cook,ed anything.
In spite of mud from the rains, we hiked around the property, enjoying the recently-turned-green hills and trees. Then, we took Vixen to Shale Oak Winery, just down the road, where she met the 2 residents dogs there - more wonderfully dog-friendly folks. We enjoyed the gorgeous setting, great wine and I bought a purse made of cork! Our day and a half in the area was some of the best R&R we've had in a long time, and we wouldn't trade a minute of it.
We hope to go back again, and we highly reccommend this rental. Thanks to Che for everything!
Such a perfect location! And a great property! Was great first time and was great the second time! Thank you!
We enjoyed a very nice stay at Che's eclectic ranch with a menagerie of animals to help celebrate the holiday.
The guest house is nice but fairly rustic , needing, in our opinion, a bit more attention to detail, for the price point quoted.
Very cozy, but needing just a little more upkeep. ( i.e. very little gas in the propane powered grill: we were lucky to finish cooking our meal before it ran out, freezer was too iced up to keep anything in).
If we had one major complaint it is that the queen sized bed was extremely uncomfortable, causing one of us to sleep our second night on a couch which wasn't much, if any, of an upgrade.
With that said, Che, our host, was extremely accommodating, friendly and pleasant.
We brought our dog, who had a blast with Che's dogs and the entire experience is one we're both glad we had.
If you're animal lovers like we are, you'll appreciate the entire surroundings, from the beautiful location to the friendly four legged friends, which abound.
With a new mattress, we would re-visit.
Without one, we couldn't do it....back was too sore in the morning.
Looking forward to sleeping in our own bed tonight, but with a new bed would recommend.
Close to everything.
My girlfriend and I go away each year to celebrate our friendship and birthdays. This trip gave us a good mix of relaxation and laughter and was just the sort of thing we were looking for. The property is amazing and there are so many stories here. The animals were so much fun and a delight to be around. We wanted to leave Orange County behind and immerse into a quieter, gentler time and that is just what we did. We awoke to sunlight filtering through a gentle fog that enveloped the property and surrounding vineyards. Horses neighing and chickens clucking, and friendly dogs so happy to see you. This experience isn't for everyone. If you are seeking a five star hotel, then go and pay for it. If you are looking for a truly memorable time with access to cute restaurants, wine tastings, strolls on a country lane then this is it. Book now...you may not have the opportunity later. Che' the owner/proprietor is charming and a delight to talk with. He has stories galore and immediately addresses any challenges you may have. He is amazing and added many smiles to our whole experience. I highly recommend this adobe gem nestled in the heart of Paso Robles.
We are located three miles west of Hwy 101 on Hwy 46 West to Cambria/Hearst Castle and one mile down Oakdale Rd on a historic Spanish Hacienda. We sit in the West end of Paso Robles among some of the best vinyards and tasting rooms as well as many smaller quality family operations. Downtown Paso Robles is five miles away with all shopping within that distance. Wineries, coastal towns, horse back riding, golf courses hot air baloons, and hiking areas are all short scenic drives from our location.
