Whether you enjoy your stay here depends on this.Your expectations. If you are looking to get by, no frills, something that seems better suited for student housing then the units well located. On the other hand if you live in a nice house, stay in decent type hotels I'd pass. It's very basic

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review Rick! We always emphasize that our spaces are value-oriented, not McMansions. This space has 100 channel cable TV with DVR at this time, full remodeled kitchen with Dishwasher and updated appliances, along with in unit Washer and Dryer in full bath with exhaust fan, etc. Beds are sleep number / select comfort. Outside is a shared backyard with outdoor furniture, barbecue and fire pit, along with the ability to park seven vehicles on the property, The incredible location is walking distance to everything from Walker Art Center to Lake of the Isles. It all depends on what you are looking for from a rental space. We suggest that guests also look at reviews for our other properties at this and other websites, to verify whether this or other properties from Scott and Jenna Short Stay will work for them.

Great place to stay (&bike!)

  • 5 of 5

I was in Minneapolis with three colleagues for a scientific conference in June. Instead of getting hotel rooms, we thought it would be a good idea to rent an apartment thinking that would be more relaxed, private and quiet. This place offered all of this and more! When we arrived there was someone present to welcome us and walk us through the apartment, which was equipped with everything we could possibly need during our stay. What we especially liked was that there's a city bike station close. We rented bikes every day ($6 for 24h) to get to the conference center (10min bike ride) and to explore the city a bit. Definitely try this out when you're in the city! It's a great way to get around.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your comments and for staying with us! Truth in advertising-- we greet in person about 96% of the time, but sometimes emergencies or everyone arriving at once means we have to leave a lockbox. We try to give lots of detail, like the info about the bikes, but are always available for questions. Hope we can help you out in the future! Scott & Jenna

About Scott and Jenna

Scott & Jenna love to travel but have less wanderlust than we did in the past. We are busy helping guests like you enjoy our area! We enjoy the arts and culture, and the occasional sporting event. If you have questions about the Twin Cities, we can usually answer them! We are happy to provide 'concierge' services gratis.

Why Scott and Jenna chose Calhoun Isles

As long term residents of the Twin Cities, we like to take advantage of the cultural activities in the Twin Cities -- Live Theater, Dance performances, etc. This unit is in the middle of everything!

Guestbook comments from the owner

October 2012

This review is from a website that checks to make sure a guest stayed in the property.

The space was fantastic, and a perfect fit for my family. The interior was clean and well-furnished; comfortable for everyone. We were in town for just one day for a wedding, and we were able to call Scott and arrange a check-in time that worked for both of us. Scott was very friendly and helpful, meeting us when we arrived to show us around the space. We would definitely stay again.
